Powerhouse gym on Florida Ave. has been an icon for classic old school gyms in the Tampa Bay Area. The members are a great no nonsense crew. It’s a well run gym with members that have been there for decades. The owner is professional and constantly working to make the gym better. You can’t go wrong if you join this gym.

This gym is a hidden treasure there is No Fluff.. probably one of the last old school gyms left, a lot of the equipment is on the older side, but they actually work the best, everyone is really cool, definitely a great experience, once you workout there you will never be able to go somewhere else

I love it here. The owner Eddy is so kind and a great trainer. his staff is awesome as well very friendly. I love working out here the people here are friendly and will help you. I can't tell you how many great people I met here while on my own fitness journey for the first time. If you ever need a spotter or help you can find it there. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

I’ve been a member for over 3 years and this gym is the real deal. The previous owner, Jerry, and new owner, Eddie, are both awesome! Powerhouse on N. Florida is a great place for beginners, families, and advanced fitness enthusiasts. Cleaning protocols are performed regularly, personally witnessed. Spray bottles with cleaner and paper towels are stocked and always available for members to clean equipment after use. If you need a personal trainer, they have independent highly experienced trainers on-site for you to work with if you need a good kick start or on-going guidance. And did I say, extremely affordable. This gym has gone through a major reconstruction and the staff is beyond amazing. Clean, professional, and allows you the opportunity to get in and out quick without having to wait on machines like those commercialized gyms. Seriously, come check it out and see for yourself

I was always nervous to come to the gym until I found powerhouse gym the atmosphere is warming welcoming and a family run business which made me feel more secure and confident in working out. There are a lot of professional athletes as well as professional people that come here. They are all friendly and welcoming and willing to help if I ever get stuck in a work out. I highly recommend this gym for any newcomers or elite people committed to their fitness goals.

I started coming to Powerhouse in the begging of 2022 and don’t plan on leaving! It’s conveniently open 24/7, always kept clean, Eddy and his staff are wonderful and every member I’ve met is friendly and encouraging. I’ve always been able to come in and do my workouts with ease. I highly recommend joining Powerhouse!

What more can I say. This gym is old school and I love it. Great management, friendly people, and everything you need. The equipment is a bit older but the variety and charm of the place makes up for it. They have more than enough of what you need. I love this gym and others do to. They are also gonna be doing a remodel soon. So it will only get better from here on out. Place is still going strong and the Staff really cares about the people and their progress

Awesome “old school” gym. Owner and staff are chill and welcoming. Cool environment. Plenty of iron and great equipment. Stop going to commercial gyms where you are just a number, local gyms like this are so much better.

I left, came back 20 years later, and it still has a lot of good ole pieces., unfortunately, some of my favorite pieces were gone. Ouch. I guest the old owner took them with him. 😆. Like the plate loaded Nautilus pullover, chain driven. That's why only 4 stars. That piece made the gym.

I've been here for over 3 years now...some of these reviews I've looked at need to be addressed ..the girl that said there's bugs . 1. Anywhere here in this state a bug will get in here and your home. 2. I've been doing the pest control here now for a minute...I think you need to ride along w a real exterminator to see what a infestation looks like .....I treat inside and outside...under all the sinks ...locker rooms ..entry ways ...supply closets...window and door frames...under and behind machines...I've never seen a living insect in here running around....that's a fact... For the guy that showed anonymous about the thermostat...well this big gym runs on 4 separate units...IF YOU SEE THE PAINT AND DRY WALL THOSE THERMOSTATS ARE NEW...IF YOU WOULD BRING IT TO EDDIES ATTENTION INSTEAD OF COMING ON HERE ACTING LIKE YOURE DOING THE LORDS WORK ....it would of been remedied the next a.m. when he comes in ...or 48 hours....one thermostat wasn't tripping ...and I can assure you....this wasn't a ongoing thing ...or there wouldn't be ppl working out over 20 plus years... There's 2 sides to events...not just one....this is a personal owned business...america wasnt built on gyms that cost 7.00 a month...and good luck talking to someone there that cares..as much as the staff here..

Great atmosphere and very professional people who go to the gym and owners and the people are very serious about their workout they don't cut into your routine and hold up the equipment which makes it nice to follow your routine! The gentleman that come to this gym are very respectful toward the women so if you're a woman this is a good gym for you to come to where you wont get hit on and you can concentrate on your work out! Great place!

Been going to this gym for over 6 years it has been the best gym I have ever been to out of many other gyms.This gym has 24 hour access,month to month or one time payment membership at a very low price,low price tanning,and so much of the best old school free weights including great cable and cardio equipment.

Been a member for over a year and it’s exactly what i was looking for! Not super busy, a machine for anything and everything you would need. Plus the staff is always super friendly and working hard to improve the gym!

Love coming here. Eddy is nice. The fact that it's 247 makes it my go-to. Worth every penny!

It's a gym you go in quietly get it done then get out .

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. This place is wayyyyy tooo expensive. The owner is never there so If you want to cancel your member ship good luck. NOBODY WIPES down equipment I was very dissapointed.

Owner is cool but the gym is way too hot. The heat is insufferable and is always set too high. A/C and fans don’t work either. This is the thermostat-79!!!!!!! It’s Always locked and can’t be changed. So add this 79-80 degree temp and 64% humidity to your intense workouts and it makes you not want to workout. Heat exhaustion is real.

Great aesthetic. Terrible gym. All of the bars are gross and slipper and bent with zero knurling. The roof is a standard 8ft so OHP is impossible unless you're 3 feet tall. Overall bad gym. How ever the prices are good.

This gym is very well equipped and has an awesome, well informed staff! You can't beat bang for your buck this gym provides.

Great gym that's 24/7 and affordable, everyone that goes there is friendly and willing to help. This isn't a corporate gym with a bunch of ppl standing around on their phones taking up space. Never over crowded and has every piece of equipment you would ever need. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

They are encouraging and informative when it comes to fitness and diet. Class times are flexible and easy to register .

This is the best gym I have ever been to. Staff is very kind and friendly and they are open 24/7! I am a late night lifter and this is the ideal place for that. There is not a machine they do not have and it never gets to busy. Love this gym!

Fantastic gym. Not overly packed during any hours, enough equipment for everybody and has every machine you’ll ever need. Quiet late at night, easy to focus on my workout and I don’t have to wait on anybody or anything. Very good environment for people who take their training seriously.

Absolutely love this gym and recommend to anyone in this area. I’ve personally brought a few of my friends to this gym and they all loved it too. Has everything I could need for weightlifting and cardio. There’s so much equipment so I never have to wait for anything and it’s almost never super busy. The environment here is amazing too and motivates me throughout my workout. All this and it’s open 24 hours! Again, can’t recommend this gym enough!

Everyone is so amazing! They hosted a workout class for my sororities chapter after hours which was incredibly generous of them. Great workout also! Love them and will be coming back.

Awesome gym has everything you need to make you work! Staff is great! The people and atmosphere is awesome! I'm only in the immediate area for a month and couldn't be happier with the experience. 90 percent of the lifters are dedicated to work and not waste time... I have also gone at multiple times during the day and have never had to adjust or wait on equipment! Thanks for keeping the old school work hard atmosphere!

Since coming to this gym, I have to say this was the best choice. I have met great workout team to push ourselves to the limit of having better health and body. To me I have a second family to motivate me to reach my goals. Since coming to this gym which will be almost a year I have lost 64 lbs and continue to loss the weight with guidance from my fellow gym friends and powerhouse team. The equipment is great and the gym has something for everyone . Best gym for me and can be for someone else who ready to be healthy.

I’m a military man and also my father had grown up with the owner of this gym. I was down in the state for a month and I had the best experience with the team there as well. The owner and his team are very respectful and generous people. If I could attend to this gym for a longer duration of time, I 100% would without a doubt. Great and reasonable prices, great variety of machines as well for your needs.
