👍👍 Our first time trying Ethiopian food and it was very flavourful. We ordered a mixed combo for two people, and it was a good portion for 2. Felt like home made. Coming again here. Loving it 💓 People often mention Ethiopian, restaurant, Sheba, dishes, good, nice, great, people, beer, staff,

I hope it was an off day. We ordered the Sheba mix (3 meat + 3 veg for 2 people for €40) Unfortunately the three meat dishes were not edible. The meat was really tough and couldn’t chew most pieces, the gravy was awesome and full of flavour. The vegetarian dishes were nice and lots of depth to the flavours. The beer was also super fun, served with a coconut shell! Cannot praise the lovely owner enough, great terrace setting outside, lovely presentation. I hope their fish dishes are better?

The food quality was really great and everything tasted amazing. Be careful as some of the options might be spicier than you expect. The staff were also extraordinary. Very helpful and friendly. However, although the restaurant was not busy, we had to wait almost 40 minutes for the food to get ready. Not sure if this type of food in general takes long to prepare or there are staffing issues, but we would have appreciated a heads up.

Really had delicious food here! We ordered two vegetarian options, they come served in the same plate so you'll rediscover the pleasure to share food and eat using your hands or the typical bread they serve (its texture and taste are really interesting). We tried the banana flavored beer and a typical Ethiopian one as well. The fact that it is located in a residential area gives it a familiar atmosphere and relaxed vibes. Not expensive and the staff is really kind :-)

Delicious food (everything is homemade), generous portions, cosy atmosphere and very kind owners. I went there a couple of times already. That's my go-to for Ethiopian restaurant!!

Dined here last night, and it was superb. The hostess was incredibly kind and charming, and exemplified hospitality. I found the interior decor to be interesting and pleasing to eye, but in no way overly busy or distracting. The seating was comfortable and spacious. For beverages we had the fresh lemonade, which was wonderfully refreshing and not too sweet, and traditional Ethiopian tea which was quite flavorful. For dinner we shared the lentil soup, and then vegan combination for two. Every single item was wonderfully flavorful and delicately spiced. And I have never had better injera in my entire life. Go and enjoy this local gem.

Had a lovely Friday evening dinner here. A spacious restaurant with friendly staff and good food. We went for the mix for 2 people and it was so much food but a great way to try everything. The only thing I think this location lacks is some background music.

After giving order, it takes approx 1 hour to have the dish. I completely understand the delay because they are preparing everything from scratch. We tried the sheba mix served with injeras as a layer underneath the food and Ethiopian beer. Everything was quite delicious.

Queen of Sheba is the greatest! This is my go to spot in Amsterdam. My partner and I always get the Sheba Mix, it’s a great way to sample many of the dishes. The owner is always so warm and welcoming. Such a neighborhood gem. Just a note that the food can take a while (totally not a problem on my end, I like the relaxed vibe and getting to talk to my companions)! Will keep coming back!

A small restaurant with a good Ethiopian food. They have Bedele beer (Ethiopian beer). We had the Sheba special which I liked (the 'Misr' was a bit average other than that all good..). Service was good.

Cozy Ethiopian restaurant with nice staff. Food was nice and definitely something new that I haven’t tasted, furthermore you eat with your hands which was fun. Atmosphere was ok. We tried a mango flavoured Ethiopian mongozo beer which I wouldn’t recommend.

Services took a bit long for some food, esp for up to 10 people. It will be better if you make a reservation for a place and menu. Overall, the food was good. The owner was friendly.

Amazing food and really lovely owners. Had the vegan mix twice now. First time I came by myself, I phoned up if to ask if they could do it for 1 person and they were kind enough to allow it. Been today with my partner and we both loved it. Authentic East African food and the owners are so kind.

An Exquisite Ethiopian Culinary Having explored Ethiopian cuisine in various corners of the globe, my recent visit to Sheba undoubtedly the best we’ve encountered, left us in awe. With a rich history of tasting Ethiopian delicacies across Europe, Australasia, and the UAE, this hidden gem surpassed all expectations, offering an unforgettable gastronomic experience. While the service may have been a tad slow, the flavorsome delights that awaited us were well worth the wait. We opted for the Sheba Mix meal, a perfect choice to indulge in a variety of traditional Ethiopian dishes. As each platter arrived, artfully presented with vibrant colors and fragrant aromas, our anticipation grew. From the first bite, it was evident that this restaurant had mastered the art of Ethiopian cuisine. The dishes were a delightful fusion of spices, herbs, and textures that showcased the authentic flavors of Ethiopia. The injera, a spongy sourdough flatbread, served as the perfect vessel to scoop up the array of savory stews, vegetable dishes, and lentil curries. The Sheba Mix meal allowed us to savor a diverse selection of flavors, ranging from the robust and aromatic Doro Wat, a chicken stew, to the comforting and subtly spiced Shiro, a chickpea-based dish. Each dish had its own distinct personality, yet harmoniously complemented one another, creating a symphony of tastes on our palates. In addition to the culinary delights, the restaurant’s ambiance and decor added to the overall experience. The warm earthy tones, traditional Ethiopian artwork, and cultural accents created an inviting and authentic atmosphere. It truly transported us to Ethiopia, providing a glimpse into its rich heritage and culinary traditions. While the service may have been a little slow due to the process that goes with the food and the staff’s warm hospitality and genuine enthusiasm for Ethiopian cuisine added a personal touch to our dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the dishes, offering recommendations and answering our questions with a smile. Their passion for sharing the flavors and culture of Ethiopia was evident in their interactions with guests. In conclusion, despite the slight delay in service, this Ethiopian restaurant stands out as the best I have encountered throughout my culinary explorations across Europe, Australasia, and the UAE. The tantalizing flavors of the Sheba Mix meal, coupled with the inviting decor and attentive staff, made for a remarkable dining experience. If you have a taste for Ethiopian cuisine or are eager to embark on a flavorful journey, this restaurant is a must-visit. Allow yourself to be transported to the vibrant culinary world of Ethiopia, where every bite is a celebration of tradition and taste.

Amazing atmosphere and a great food experience. We ordered the vegan combo and it was so so good. We saw that most of the people there were not ending the full plate but we certainly did 😊 we waited around 25min but it was worth it!

I’ve been here some time ago with my father. Ethiopian food was on my list for a long time and this restaurant gave me such a fond memory of it. The food was rich and flavorful, all the various specialities on top of the Injera were different and the bread itself was so light and easy to digest. Absolutely worth the waiting. The woman that serves is such a lively and amazing spirit.

A real gem that goes under the radar in Amsterdam, this is the first place I bring any visitors I have from out of town. The food is actually 10/10 and the place feels so homie & cosy! Also really good decor.
