Vaak 's avonds na werktijd om even helemaal te onthaasten. Had vaak het hele gebied voor mezelf. Tegenwoordig rijd ik nog bijna wekelijks vanuit Utrecht naar Meijendel om hier een lange wandeling te maken. Mij valt wel op dat het gebied de laatste jaren een anderssoortig publiek trekt. Ik heb mountainbikers gezien, heel veel hardlopers, grote groepen van meer dan 20 wandelaars, en vooral heel veel mensen die denken dat de gebiedsregels niet voor hen gelden, en die gewoon buiten de paden lopen. Ook al wildslapers en wildkampeerders gesignaleerd helaas. Wat intensiever toezicht door duinwachters in Kijfhoek/Bierlap zou zeker welkom zijn.
