A cozy little gallery of sorts that lets you experience the sight of nebuta floats all year round. The entrance fee is 500-600 yen, and you get to check out some traditional crafts, toys, and a shamisen performance.

A place u can understand Japanese culture deeply. Not only the painting, the design, but also the music they call three-strings guitar.

We came here on a limited time frame due to the bad weather and snow storms going on. I wish I could have stayed longer. The place is a must visit in Hirosaki and you have to try a few of the crafts. They take time so if you plan to go you can see tsugaru shamisen style, learn and practice yourself, make so many different types of crafts, so many you would need a full day to try them all! The owner was so funny and kind to us. I will definitely be back.

I did not know that Neputa and Nebuta are different. In paid area (600¥/person for entry) you can enjoy watching huge Neputas and Tsugaru-Shamisen live at certain hours. The souvenir shop is large but I wish they had more art crafts and more modernized souvenir selections.

Very enjoyable experience. Floats are great. Japanese Garden is really tranquil. Close proximity to the castle grounds.

Really nice small museum that introduces you to the Neputa art form. I recommend doing the different types of workshop. It was fun and affordable and the staff is super friendly!

Definitely worth visiting if you're in Hirosaki Great exhibition, friendly staff, and they speak English! Just across the street from the castle so you don't even have to go our of your way to visit.

I liked the place very much. I wish I can enjoy the festival in the summer, too! I loved the experience of playing the drum and listening the shamisen performance. Beautiful music!

Short little experience. They will play some quick music and allow you to play the drum for a little bit.

Very lovely exhibition. We were also right on time for the performance. Love the style of display, does not feel like a museum at all but is very informative.

Absolute must visit location for Tsugaru fans. For a small fee you get a short shamisen performance by an amazingly talented artist; can watch craftsmen at work making tsugarunuri, tops, and kokeshi; relax at a beautiful garden; and take away some souvenirs not readily found elsewhere.

One of the most famous museum, an absolute must visit when in Hirosaki. Learn about the Neputa Matsuri and the Tsugaru Shamisen. Lots of souvenirs and handcrafts to buy.

Make sure you check the time or wait to saw the live performance show as you enter, as well as have enjoy the try out of the taiko Japanese drum as part of the overall culture experience. As it change the static experience into interactive one. No sure for others, but for me come to Hirosaki, should not miss this cultural experience.

It's important to visit places like this to learn about the local culture. Not many people so you can really take your time and view the items on display. I love Aomori!
