This is the completely walkable park area surrounding Hirosaki Castle. Filled with Cherry Blossom Trees and extremely beautiful no matter whether it’s morning, night, Summer, Autumn, Winter or Spring. Current winter weather means traversing through knee high snow but don’t let that turn you away from visiting this beautiful park and castle area.

My friend brought me here not knowing what beauty lies ahead. The long distance travel from Chiba is worth it. It didn’t disappoint. Not much tourists, the place is magical with autumn leaves and so serene. The park is huge and with plenty of beautiful spots. Must visit when you have plenty of time in Japan.

This is a beautiful city park with 2 gardens that have paid admission as well as a castle remnant. Beautiful location with a great center explaining the history of the location l. A Sakura matsuri is held here in the spring but I was about too early for it.

Visited Hirosaki Park twice, once in the evening and again in the early morning. Sadly, missed the sakura bloom by two weeks, but the park was still picturesque and beautiful. Impeccably clean and super family-friendly, it's a great place to connect with nature. Enjoyed delicious grilled chicken skewers from a kiosk, adding to the park's amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit!

Although it’s not big and not opening in winter, the park is a nice place to go! Hope to go again during the Sakura season

Amazing, lush, serene and picturesque garden. There is a lotus pond, part of the moat surrounding the Hirosaki castle, which is absolutely breathtaking. The botanical garden is the best part of the garden with various plants, trees, koi pond and a murder of Crows...

One of the best places to go for Cherry blossom season 🌸 I suggest if you have kids just keep a close eye on them and be aware of where your walking. Start early, have a lot of water, a backpack, and have some comfortable walking shoes. One of the beautiful sites to see if you go at the right time. Just make sure to mark it on your calendar. It's only a week limited time each year. If you go north Japan. Make sure to see this place.

Went for the festival today and caught only a few trees with a bloom . Unfortunately already missed the main bloom of Sakura this year. The park is still nice to walk around and has a nice view of Mount iwaki. The festival grounds has food vendors and activities to participate in so you won’t be left with nothing.

One of the most beautiful parks I've ever visited. You can enjoy two different views in day and at night.

The place is quite spacious, clean, and free.. The cherry blossoms are beautiful.. They have several types of cherry blossoms and also tulips.. However, when I visited, some buildings were under construction.. Overall,I was satisfied with the experience of seeing the beautiful cherry blossoms..

Sakura matsuri started while the blooms were falling off as the sakura bloomed early this year. Plenty of food from the large matsuri.

Beautiful cherry blossom that blooms in mid/late April in Hirosaki. Rent a boat to row along the river with sakura along both sides for 1000 yen. Worth the price imo. No picnic allowed as of April 2023 due to COVID. Heard that people used to picnic along the river before covid.

Beautiful park full of cherry blossoms and a traditional Japanese castle. Visited on 14-April-23 and it was nice and blooming.

Beautiful, Great and warm place~~^^ Hirosaki Park does experience sunny weather during summer season, which in the middle of April to the beginning of May, the weather is always warm. Especially if you want to see a cherry blossom, also known as Japanese cherry or sakura. Just keep in mind that it’s best to travel during summer season. You could see sakura in the night. One of the surprising things was the parking park's price. It was so expensive. 700 ¥ for 45 or 50 minutes. Or may be it was just me that's unlucky to find the place. Don't mind me, it's worth for you to come!! ~~^^

park was huge and lovely! We came on 8 April which was still too early for cherry blossoms but some trees were already blooming. That being said - the castle was quite underwhelming. It is way smaller than depicted in photos hahaha. Will be back again for the cherry blossom festival! (Apparently starts from 20 April)

A lovely park centred in the old castle defences of Hirosaki castle. Plenty of scenic views of the castle and of the surrounding area, including a view of Iwaki-san from the castle keep. I visited in February and was able to see the kamakura left from the snow festival the weekend before - definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area at the time.

Deep snow but a track into this temple. There seems to be several colocated shrines here and path is lined with carved graves. Make the visit donation and buy a charm/fortune in the cabin there.

2022/11/07 visit Those maple trees were so amazing in the Hirosaki Park and out of my expectation. What a pity that the castle was under maintenance on the day.

The best spot is spring where the cherry blossom enrich the landscape. Else, autumn be the second choice, follow with summer green. Due to Hirosaki is not big building with full set of defense infrastructure perserve, the surround of the park did impact overall experience. Nevertheless l, for those first time come Hirosaki, Hirosaki park should not be ingore.

This is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever been to, and it is one of the best locations to go see cherry blossoms I visited Hirosaki towards the end of April, and got really lucky with the timing. Cherry blossoms were beautiful layed out on the trees, ground and they even created a mattress on top of water, creating a truly unique view In the park you can visit a castle, botanical garden and at least during cherry blossoms season, many stalls with various kinds of faire food on offer It is the perfect place for you to visit with your significant other or family, or if you are interested in photography, because great photos are pretty much guaranteed I couldn't recommend it more

Went on Cherry Blossom period, very nice view on both late Evening and Afternoon (yes I went twice on different time just to catch the different moment), less people as compared to Tokyo during Cherry Blossom period, at least I can find a seat on bench easily. And I personally feel Cherry Blossom in Aomori is better than Tokyo as well, different species I guess? 正午和旁晚都相当值得一去,整体来说比东京的樱花漂亮,关键是游客也少大概一百倍吧

Hirosaki Park is a must go because you can enjoy all these awesome scenery for free. If you are the type of person who loves natural and beautiful scenes, you won't want to miss it. Do drop by the grocery shop to buy some tasty and cheap apples (4 big apples cost only JPY 200)

Awesome big park with lots of walking trails trees and ponds as well as toilet facilities and information signs and maps. Very picturesque with the castle gates and towers interspersed among the trees. Great place to go for a walk or to have lunch or a picnic in the sun. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.

Beautiful castle park, no matter which season you go to visit. This time I visited during the spring sakura festival. Being the most popular festival and the trees usually reaching full bloom at the beginning of Golden Week, it was really crowded, but worth the trip!

I have been to Hirosaki park in summer and now in Spring. Unfortunately Sakura is almost gone only Shidarezakura remain . I heard it is the must see scenery before you die so I will come to visit again in Sakura season .

Gorgeous cherry blossoms, food vendors, and cheap. Park nearby and walk in. Shouldn't pay more than 1000yen for the day in parking. Guard tower tour was fun to explore, note there are really steep stairs and no handicap access. Boats to rent in the outer moat and very english friendly.

Love this place during the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival! There were special buses from Hirosaki station that goes directly to the park during the festival. There were also some guides at the bus stop to help you. This place during cherry blossom is just so pretty, more than 2000 over cherry blossom trees. At night, there will be night illumination as well The most awesome sight has got to be from the bridge overlooking the river lined with Sakura trees. During the festival, there’s lots of food stalls to enjoy from. However, as it is a park, there are many exits to choose from. It is not easy to catch taxi from the smaller exits.
