Kaname Falls

Tourist attraction

👍👍 October 19, 2019 I stopped by Kaname Falls in Hitoyoshi City! ️ I came last year as well, but I couldn't go to Otaki and Medaki that time due to fallen trees, so I visited them again. I think you can find the location because there are information signs at important points. There is no parking lot,... People often mention waterfall, stairs, water, bridge, entrance, walk, wide,

October 19, 2019 I stopped by Kaname Falls in Hitoyoshi City! ️ I came last year as well, but I couldn't go to Otaki and Medaki that time due to fallen trees, so I visited them again. I think you can find the location because there are information signs at important points. There is no parking lot, so the road above Hirataki [where there is a guide map of the area] is wide enough to park about 5 cars there. ■Hirataki: If you go down the promenade from the area guide map, you will find Hirataki! ️It is a wide slanted waterfall. ■Otaki: If you go back about 100m from the area guide map, you will find the entrance. From there, you can go down the promenade, cross the bridge, go out to the riverbank, and walk to the bottom of the waterfall basin! ️It is a direct waterfall with a wide drop in the basin. ■Medaki: Cross the bridge and go down to the riverbed, go towards the rotten pavilion, follow the mountain path, and go up the left bank of the river. ️This is a slightly wide two-tiered waterfall!! ️ ✳️Although maples 🍁 etc. were planted around the waterfall, the autumn leaves were still early.

I came to Haruka after reading everyone's reviews 😅 If you press route on Google Maps, it will guide you to a safe course from the main street, but for some reason it went offline midway, so if you are coming from a distance, please use the 7-Eleven Hitoyoshi Nishima-Kamimachi store and Hitoyoshi City Sagara Park as landmarks. It's on the route, so just hold it down and you'll be fine 👍 This waterfall is currently in good health, but it was sad to see that it had been severely affected by flood damage and had become so dilapidated that it damaged the surrounding scenery. This healing spot, which has been steadily built up as a tourist attraction, is unable to resist the wrath of nature, and I have seen the weakness of humans. However, it further reminded me of the strength of humans who have coexisted with nature and overcome it through courage, cooperation, and immeasurable efforts. There is an information board at the entrance, but there is a ``construction site kit'' from Hitoyoshi City Hall that does not say that entry is prohibited. , I went 🤣) I would like to ask only people who can honestly say sorry if someone involved gets angry with them. There are fallen leaves and moss underfoot, and the stairs are slippery, so you have to be very careful, so I ask you not to run. (The restrooms are not currently available, and there is no dedicated parking lot, so you will have to park on the street with a wide curve.)

I went there for the first time. When you park your car and go to the entrance of the waterfall, the road is narrow and dangerous. After walking all the way up the stone stairs, a bridge came into view, and when we crossed it, we carefully climbed up the river stones to the next waterfall, and a wonderful waterfall appeared. When you get close to the waterfall, the power of the waterfall is incredible. It felt really good. It's a little difficult to get back, but I would like to go again.

On the way, the navigation system guided me down a narrow road and I took a wrong turn, but a local person kindly guided me. There is a signboard to guide you up the regular road, but there is no dedicated parking lot nearby. A little ahead was a roadside space for two cars, and beyond that was an open space. (At that time) there was a cone placed at the entrance, so please be careful when going down the stairs. When you go down, you need to be careful because the bridge handrail and the stairs on the opposite bank were damaged. The waterfall had a lot of water and was worth seeing. There is also Shirabu Falls upstream, which is recommended.

The waterfall looks really nice. The only thing that isn't good about it is that because of the force of the falling water, the pool that the water is falling into is really rough.

You have to go down about 200 steps. Care must be taken as the footing can be slippery. I went to see it after the rain, so there was a lot of water and it was quite impressive.

Kaname Falls is made up of Hirataki, Otaki, and Medaki. Ontaki, commonly known as Kaname Falls, is a wonderful waterfall where you can enjoy the columnar joints and the waterfall that approaches right before your eyes. The car was parked at a shelter-like place, and from there, a little further towards Hitoyoshi city, there was a waterfall observation point. There is no other place to park your car. From the entrance, you can walk down the stairs for about 10 minutes to reach the waterfall, and if you walk along the riverbank, you can even get close to the base of the waterfall. Athletic shoes are recommended. Hirataki can be seen by walking down the promenade from the shelter. There is not much of a drop here, and it is a wide waterfall that flows down the rock face.

If you go a few dozen meters from where the entrance sign is, you will see a slightly wider area. There is space for 3 or 4 cars. You can park your car there and walk down the stairs to the waterfall. There is a restroom (Japanese style) right after you start going down the stairs. It has been kept in good condition. Since there is no running water, the person taking care of the water is drinking water from the waterfall in plastic bottles. I'm putting it in there. It was helpful. If you go down, cross the bridge, and continue along the rocky path, you will see a majestic waterfall. No wonder it has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls. I took photos and videos, but nothing beats seeing things with my own eyes... Please note that the footing is quite unstable. Is it after water damage? There are signs that many large rocks have been washed away. It was quite cool near the waterfall even though it was August. There are two more to explore? I was told that there was a waterfall nearby, but due to my physical strength, I only saw this waterfall before heading home.

I went there about 2 years ago! I went down the long stairs and finally arrived! I was getting anxious thinking about my return trip! but! The waterfall itself was a magnificent waterfall! There were still quite a few traces of water damage left! Is it debris that has flown down or the remains of something broken? However, I found out that the area around the waterfall basin was previously well maintained! The basin of the waterfall is full of rocks, but you can get close to it! On the way home, I was on the verge of tears and broke down several times, but somehow I managed to muster up all my strength to walk up the long stairs! You need physical strength to see the amazing natural waterfalls! For waterfall lovers! Be careful of injuries and let's do our best together! ! !

(Translated by Google) At the entrance of the promenade, there was a sign to warn of falling rocks, and there was a guard to prevent it from passing, but I went to see it at my own risk 😆 There are big stones and my feet are unstable 💦 Is it the effect of flooding ... I want you to recover quickly. (Original) 遊歩道の入り口は落石注意の看板があり、通れないようにガードがしてありましたが自己責任の範囲で見に行きました😆大きな石があり足元も不安定です💦 水害の影響でしょうか…早く復興して欲しいです

(Translated by Google) As of February 2022, the promenade seemed to be under repair. You can walk to the bottom without any problems. (Original) 2022

2023.12.31 A well maintained road. The sound of the waterfall gets louder. Please be careful as the wooden bridge was slippery.

The footing was poor and there were 200 steps, but I was constantly exposed to negative ions.

(Translated by Google) It was a short walk to get to the waterfall. It was right after the rain, so the bridge was slippery, but the scenery was nice😊 The water in the waterfall wasn't as cold as I thought, but it was a comfortable temperature for my bare feet. On my way home, I just climb the stairs, It was tough for me, who usually lacks exercise 😂 (Original)

(Translated by Google) Dynamic and inspiring. The traces of supplementary lessons on the bridge due to heavy rain damage and the influx of a large amount of rocks were vivid.
