This is the main windmill that visitors enter to see when they visit Kinderdijk. Please don't forget to purchase the tickets at the front office. It's so fascinating to see how the miller and the entire family lived.

Very interesting place to visit as part of our Viking Rhine getaway River cruise. Lots of history. Nice little gift shop with reasonably priced products. There is also a cafe but we didn't visit.

This place was so cool I've always seen the wind mills in photos and on plates but never did I think I would actually see one in real life. This was so cool.

Skip the free shuttle, rent a bike for a few euros (there's a bike shop near the shuttle parking). Spend the best 15 minutes of your life riding here. Take the long way back through the city. Question your entire life and wonder why you don't live here.

What an amazing place this is, let's get started, the "Kinderdijk" is the most concurred place in Zuid Holland (province) and of course well connected with the highways of Rotterdam. Entrance tickets average is €8-€15 there is a children discount and over 60 years old people. You can bicycle, walk and even pleople go to jogging. Alert! You only pay if you enter to the museums, means that if you only want to walking around is completely FREE. There are three molens turned into museums showing how the poeple from 100 years ago lived. Highly recommended if the weather is dry.

Love the place ... collect both the coins from there.

This is, of course, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so obviously worth a visit but that is for its history and the story it tells of the Lowlanders struggle to farm in the face of the relentless pressure of the sea, rather than for spectacular vistas. Nevertheless the concentration of so many historic (and in some cases still occupied) windmills emphasises the scale of the place and offers a view unchanged for centuries.

Windmill set up as it was originally. Great to have a look around. Recommended using the kinderdijk app which has an audio tour you can listen to whilst walking around.

We enjoyed this tour as a day excursion while on a Viking River cruise.

Amazing collection of windmills. One inn operation and set up for us to walk thru. Well worth the visit. The size of the arms and the engineering is amazing

Around 19 windmills in total ,4 you can go in and the others privately owned and lived in I was told. A pleasant coffee/snack cafe at the entrance. Then do the 'film' to get the history and background. A few hours needed to do it justice, good pathways/cycle access spread over about 3 kilometers. A few other buildings to check out.

Extremely interesting. You'd think windmills weren't interesting but they are!

If you are looking for storybook windmills of Holland, the this is the ideal place to visit. Although I didn't do it, you could pay to get an up close tour of a working windmill. Wheelchair access was fairly good along paved pedestrian footpaths.
