I have asked my gp to not refer me back to this place.

My doctor referred me to this place to do an ultrasound after post menopause bleeding - saying he thought it was a very good place. I have since reported this place to my doctor as the opposite is true. If your doctor refers you here, just refuse and ask to go to the OLVG. There is a women doctor here - Suzanne Vonekn - who in my opinion shouldn't have contact with patients. She has zero empathy and was clearly frustrated at the system and decided to take that out on me. She shouted at me 'It's either cancer or it's not cancer" and said "there is nothing i can do about it." In shock, I got teary. Luckily I knew in that instant not to prolong the contact with this "doctor" who clearly has no idea on how to communicate professionally. Since my visit with this practice, I returned to my doctor (GP) who referred me to the OLVG. My appointment at the OLVG was informed, calm, professional with all the information I needed - restoring my faith in the system. The women's health care centre in buitenverldert needs to be reported as it is a crime that women should be made to feel how Suzanne Vonken made me feel.

Honestly, reading all the reviews here I was ready to call my doctor and ask for another referral to a different place. I am glad I didn’t. I’ve had to do chest ultrasound and mammogram. Last time I did mammogram I almost fainted. This time I felt dizziness and the lady who was doing it, sensed it right away and helped me to sit down, breath, relax. She talked through the details, never rushed me, brought me some water. Then the doctor came, she brought me coffee and something to eat because she learned I haven’t had a chance to eat before coming there. I felt so much better after taking a break. And we were able to do mammo and then the ultrasound. I feel so grateful to these women who work there and who made the whole experience for me so smooth. Thank you ladies! You just made my day ♥️

However, I am writing it because I realise it's important for me to write about all the hospital and clinics I have visited in the Netherlands. I have been to this clinic at least twice. The first time I came it was for a mammogram. I was happy with the service. So I would have rated the service 3-4 star, which is why I returned back the second time. However the second time, it was for a pap smear. I was not too happy with the service, it ranked between 1-2 star. I felt the gynaecologist seemed very unconcerned, bored, and unresponsive in my medical visit. I got the impression this young lady pick the wrong profession for her career, because she seemed aloof and detached in performing her job. I am just going to hope that she possibly was experiencing a burn out. I felt as though I was discussing my medical case to the wall instead of the doctor. However, I was at least grateful I was recommended to a different clinic to research my medical issue. When I went to a different clinic in Amsterdam even the gynaecologist was furious with the lazy and incomplete notes she wrote in my referral. I don't see myself coming back here for another pap smear. However, I would consider coming back for just a mammogram.

Doctor assured me I had nothing and I trusted her, only to find out, 2 years later, I did have an ovarian fibroma, that grew up in those years. What followed were several weeks of anxiety, involving referrals to the cancer hospital and for an MRI, all of which were delayed due to the WHC doctor being sick, and their refusal to allow any other doctor to make appointments on my behalf. I finally got the result of the MRI, only to be told, I have a fibroid! I feel that the last few months were a complete waste of my time, energy (and money), if only the doctor at the WHC had checked my previous record or at least listened to me.

I was very stressed but the loveliest nurse helped me relax and gave me all the information about the process. She is the best. Also for the ultrasound, the doctor was very calming and informative as well.

I give 2 stars to this place just because the second gynaecologist I saw solved me the problem I had. I had for a really long time a vaginal infection which was caused from an actually really common bacteria. First time I have been in this clinic I had a woman who did her job in a superficial way. She didn’t test all the possibile bacteria, just some of them. I complained telling her that I was feeling really bad and she told me that the symptoms I had they were figment of my imagination and that she did everything she could to help me. I came back after a while in order to do a colposcopy and casually I have been assigned to another doctor (dr doekhie). I explained him my problem and he asked me if I had been tested for a specific bacteria and I told him that I was not. So he took again samples to check that and eventually and really luckily I discovered that I had this bacteria and I solved this problem. I am really greatful to have met this doctor but also disappointed that the first one didn’t take me seriously because I was really suffering for this issue. So my feedback is 2 stars.

Dr . Doekhie is one of the kindest and professional doctor ever encountered. I had previously experience in the same clinic with a dr no longer there, which was very traumatic and very painful. Luckily I am now patient of BMi Doekhie for over 4y.
