"Het Hijgend Hert", as it is called by locals, is a cozy bar with frequent live performances from unknown but pleasing bands. Het Hijgend Hert offers great coffee and a big menu comprised of good beers, scotches and whiskeys. For events this bar is perfect, always welcoming and very supportive of whatever plans one would have. The location just outside the centre means that everything, including parking, is right within reach without the usual chaos that comes from being in the heart of a city.

't Hijgend Hert is a café that will immediately make you feel at home. The staff is always friendly and open minded about opening their doors to all kinds of events. there is a nice range of beers on draft and they will probably have something to your liking.

It's one of the most inspiring meeting points in Breda, while enjoying a drink or two, you can meet artists, listen to music, sometimes live and admire the decorations....

Not to busy on an early Saturday evening. Plenty of choice in drink. And live music! Will visit again!

Given that this is one of the few restaurants in the area you might suspect that the food is expensive and low quality with uninterested wait staff. This is not the case at all. The menu has a good choice for vegans as well as other fare. All dishes were very good. Perhaps not the cheapest ever but I'd rather pay for good food. The waiter was extremely friendly & cheerful - dealing with our adjustments to menu items with a wonderful sense of humour. It was busy and the service wasn't fast but once we'd ordered the food came fast. Two points for improvement - allow carafes of tap water and serve decaf coffee. We had a wonderful lunch otherwise.
