We got to see the Humboldt penguins, kangaroos, and lemurs up close and it was breathtaking. My personal favorites were the agouti (green rodents) and the raccoons, who liked hiding in wooden barrels. I appreciated how accessible the zoo was - I used a wheelchair and had no trouble seeing every exhibit.

Great place. The park almost seems as if it was buid directly into a forest. Lot of natural pathways and animal enclosures with a lot trees and green. 4 stars out of 5 because the directions along the path aren't always as clear. Some wooden signs Don t have any symbols on them which can be confusing.

It is an amazing place! Adults can feel themselves like little like children, and children felt like children!

A good place to relax and enrich knowledge with children, I recommend it. There are few large animals (one tiger, several polar bears, deer), but all the fences look organic, there are also playgrounds for small children and older ones, locations with food and drinks, you can celebrate a birthday. Lego lovers will definitely like the animal figures, the coral reef ecosystem and others.

Man kann sich regelrecht verlaufen oder Bereiche auslassen, weil es keinen dezidierten Rundweg gibt. So haben wir leider u.a. die Eisbären nicht gesehen, also immer wieder auf den Plan schauen, wenn man sich nicht auskennt. Im Eingangsbereich gibt es ein typisch holländisches Restaurant mit äußerst freundlichen Mitarbeitern. Viele Kinder waren dort, alle essen Pommes Frites, unsere nicht ausgenommen. 😉 Bei den Humboldtpinguinen hatten wir unseren Spaß, denn die wollten uns ans Leder, einer schnappte mir ins Bein... die waren ausgehungert, die Fütterung stand bevor. Auch die war, wenn auch nur auf holländisch, sehr informativ. Die Kängurus flüchteten leider vor uns Menschen; ich kann es ihnen nicht verdenken. Es wäre schön, wenn die Informationen auf den Tafeln zumindest auch auf Englisch dort stünden. Ansonsten haben uns vier Stunden nicht ausgereicht, alles zu sehen. Wir werden also wieder kommen müssen. 🙂

Loved visiting the zoo. All the habitats were very clean and animals were looking healthy. Showed lots of natural behaviours! We got there quite early (9am) and there were only a handful of people there which made for a lovely peaceful tour through the zoo. At 1pm it got quite busy as there were loads of visitors and all the food courts were filled with people.

Like almost all animal park/zoo in Holland it has excellent facility for children, play parks, food courts etc. Reasonably priced too. Lots of glass viewing points that make for good Photography. I visited in the winter, so the summer it will be beautiful.

Its a fun place for both afults and kids! I did see a few animals being very bored though and doing things agains't boredom. Perhaps something could be done about that? And the snack bar next to the big yellow red jumping cushion it was a little trashy. Perhaps more trashcans could be placed there to avoid getting trash in the animals enclosures. For the rest, there was many cute animals, and the enclosures are quite big too. It's a fun environment with the foresty area. And you can get good food, and theres a souvenir shop too, where i bought a mermaid necklace with a clam with a pearl. I could take the pearl out, and put that in the pendant. Then i added my rose quartz pendant i bought earlier that week on the market. The color of my pearl represents love, and so does rose quartz. Photo is added below. For the rest, like i said, its very fun for kids, examples are the food, the jumping cushions, affordable souvenirs, animals itself ofcourse, and theres small parkours placed all over the zoo, through the foresty areas which is quite lovely. Theres also many rivers and such which was very fun and calming. I am sad i couldnt really see the seals, though. But yeah, it was quite lovely to go with friends :)

If you visit Leeuwarden in Friesland together or with family, you might as well go here. I admit this zoo isn't a big one like we all see on TV or what we are used to but the variety of animals they have makes it worth a visit. Their latest addition are the tigers complete with multilingual info about the tigers. Another place to mention is the seal habitat. Believe it or not but they swim and live freely in (fenced in) local water. A completely natural lake with a small beach and plenty of space. This zoo is also well catered to children with multiple play areas and some off-road paths with different jungle themed elements to cross over muddy pathways and small streams of water (mostly puddles). As I write this they currently have a dinosaur theme going on with multiple known and some unknown species placed throughout the park with info about when and where they lived. In short I recommend going here at least once if you are close-by or have planned to visit somewhere near the zoo. It's a nice small zoo with a healthy variety of animals and a perfect visit for everyone.

Visited AquaZoo with our family whilst staying with them in The Netherlands. It is a lovely little zoo with penguins,seals, tigers and much more. The flamingos were our favourites as they parading around their pen with stretched necks honking and posturing. Quite a sight! Well worth a visit. Easy to reach by public transport. Couple of places to eat - usual chips,hot dogs etc so nothing special but perfect for kids and a small gift shop with the usual stuff. We enjoyed it very much 😀

Toller Zoo mit größtenteils super schönen großen Gehegen und großzügiger Anlage. Besonders toll sind die zaunfreien Gehege durch die man durchlaufen kann. Einzig die Aquarien Abteilung könnte man meiner Meinung nach verbessern.

Ein tolles Erlebnis für Kinder und sehr entspannt für Erwachsene. Der eintrittspreis ist berechtigt, weil man damit ja tatsächlich die Versorgung der Tiere unterstützt.
