Simply the best spot to take photos of the Neuschwanstein. Don't hog the entrance of the bridge; just walk further in to get a far better photo.

Great views of the castle. A lot of people but controlled in some way. The bridge can feel a bit shaky but no reason to be afraid. Also below the river and the waterfall are amazing. Easy to reach to/from the parking.

The bridge offers great views of the castle. I would totally recommend it. I know that there are long waiting queues to get onto the bridge. However, it is a must. My best recommendation is to go during morning time when the sun is lighting up the castle and the valley behind it. You will not want to miss this place. Another recommendation is to continue walking past the bridge and go up you will get breathtaking views of the castle there. It is not very common for people to experience these views as most of the people stay on the bridge and they turn back to go back to the city.

During my visit to Marienbrücke bridge near Neuschwanstein Castle, I was lucky to find the bridge open. The opportunity to take pictures with the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle in the background was thrilling. The views from the bridge are simply breathtaking, offering a unique perspective of the castle and the surrounding landscape. It's an experience I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Don't miss out on this picturesque spot, especially if the bridge is open!

The wooden planks on the bridge are slightly wobbly but still the bridge feels secure. It is very high and you have a magical view of the castle and a waterfall beneath the bridge. You don't have to pay for the bridge but be warned at midday, the bridge is very busy and it might take a while to cross. I highly recommend you go tho the views were worth it.

This is such a fun place to find if you plan to visit the castles. It is around a 15 minute walk from Neuschwanstein. Visitors are afforded remarkable views of the castle and the gorge below Be prepared to deal with large crowds and perhaps even a queue to enter the bridge as they have manage the number of people that go onto Marienbrucke at one time.

Fantastic views on the day of my visit. Well worth all the travel and fuss to get here (3 trains and 2 buses). Planks on the bridge are a bit on the wobbly side. Might be a trying time for people a bit wary of heights, but worth it if you can manage it.

The best place to get the best picture of the castle. It just provides a magnificent view of the castle overlooking the the glorious Alps and the vallies beyond. The castle just looks breathe taking from this point and it is worth all the efforts it takes to reach there. There is mostly a long queue waiting to enter the bridge. The waiting time sometimes goes beyond 1 hour too but what comes after is absolutely worth it.

A pedestrian bridge that traverses something of a canyon. The primary reason for our visit was the famous view of castle Neuschwanstein- and that view is worth the trip. In September, it was so popular that we waited in quite a long line to access the bridge itself. A person can traverse to the other side and explore foot paths that lead up and about on the mountain; for those willing to do a little work, the views are rewarding and the solitude welcome. Overall: worth the short walk, even a moderate wait, for the view and access to even more fun exploration.

If you are visiting Neuschwanstein castle then visiting this place is a must and the view of castle from the bridge is mind boggling. You can make lot of photos of castle and family photos from here. Be careful with your mobile or camera since it is very steep below and try walking to end of the bridge since there will be less crowd comparably.

Nice views of the castle, however I am addressing a Safety situation of this bridge. The floor is made of wooden piles, which arent stable and they can break. And if they break, person or people will fall down. Underneath these wooden piles, there is no backup, so if the wood is damaged, which is highly likely due to the humidity in that area and number of people that pass this bridge, it will lead to a catastrophic event. I hope authorities can do smth to change it, it is extremely unsafe!

Excellent view of the castle. It's a short hike from the castle entrance. It can be done by all ages and is a stroller-friendly trail. I went in the evening shortly after the castle closed for the day. The bridge didn't have too many people on it. I think this is a must-do activity, considering the tour of the castle was rather short and lack-luster. This hike will help make the visit to the castle worth it.

Got here early in the morning and nobody else was there! We hiked up a path, which is shorter than the road but a lot more challenging. I’m not a big fan of heights but had to get “the photo” whilst in the area. The bridge does wobble, even with just 2 people on it. Seem to remember there is a 30 person limit.

Best photos of the Neuschwanstein castle from here. However, bridge is not always open (especially with foul weather or during wintertime) so check first at the town below before coming

Few minutes of waiting is expected standing in the line to get on the bridge but it will be for good. Visiting the castle without seeing it from Marienbrücke is uncompleted. Leave your fear of height behind and enjoy the stunning view over beautiful Castles of Hochschwangau and Neuschwanstein, waterfall, numerous lakes and stunning landscape. Planks might shake but it's perfectly normal. Be ready to see the bridge overcrowded as at least 100 people are standing on it at any given moment. There is somewhat control to keep bridge from over-overcrowding and it's absolutely free.

It’s definitely the best view of the castle and the area from the bridge, including a charming waterfall, but it was sooooo busy! We waited in line for almost an hour to get onto the bridge (it has a limited capacity) and even then it was packed like a can of sardines, people were pushing me from all sides, I was worried they would knock my phone out of my hand so was afraid to take pictures. The views are worth it, if you already took the time to come to Neuschwanstein this is the prettiest part, but it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

The view from Marienbrucke of the Neuschwanstein Castle is amazing. On the Friday we visited around 3pm, the bridge was chock full of people seeking a great pic. Consequently it felt very unsafe and scary. I recommend getting on, taking your awesome photos and leaving quickly!

Fantastic view from this bridge. If you come from the Castle, it’s about a 10 minute steep walk. Went latter end of the day around 6.30pm and it was really quiet.

amazing view its a must do before the castle, but can get very busy if going this way with a tour during the busy hours you might not get a chance to see it as lines could be long

This is the only place to go in order to get a fantastic view of Nueswanstien castle. BUT! It's a long hard slog to get there! If you get there prepare yourself for a breath taking height. The bridge is very narrow and at peak times is very very busy.

Hey "we out here". Nice time up at the Marienbrücke. Cheap $5 horse carriage ride up, also dog friendly. Up near the trail there's lockers, restaurants, place to buy snacks. The bridge is amazing. Crazy how they built it so long ago with wood. Views amazing. Walk up is easy, maybe 20min. Good exercise for yal pudge balls. All uphill.

Nice bridge with stunning Neuschwanstein castle view! Located some 10 minutes away from castle itself. You can take really postcard view photos there!

This is a POV if you’re standing on the bridge. Enjoy the view. This place is an easy 25-minute walk from the hotel and shopping area.

The best view of the castle is from here... Marien Bridge was built from 1866. If you take the shuttle, the destination is near the bridge, continue walking a little. The bridge has gates to control the number of people from entering beyond a certain limit. See a picture of a real fairytale castle.

Amazing views, some of the best in Europe. But the bridge is a bit wobbly and I don't like walking on it. Decide for yourself, if you go the views will be unforgettable. King Ludwig 2 used to go for walks here and envisioned a fairy tale castle on the hill next to it. That became Neuschwanstein, one of the world's prettier castles and the inspiration for Disney's castle

The bridge is located over the Pollat Gorge with a small waterfall. The bridge was originally built as a wooden structure and reopened in 2014 after demolition and renovation. The view of the fairytale castle is magnificent. The bridge is only about 15/20 minutes away from the castle. Therefore, you should definitely take the few steps. Since the bridge is partly made of wood and is very open, you shouldn't be too scared :) Access to the bridge is free of charge.

This is an amazing hike up to a beautiful castle view. Be prepared to hike uphill for about 30 to 60 minutes (depends on your pace). But the view is worth while. They do have restrooms by the Castle, it does get busy so be prepared for crowds. Parking is ten euros for a car.

It’s so beautiful! Although the bridge is a bit scary with ice on it. I only went 1/3 of it. Wish I could stay longer but people keep coming and I feel like I have to move on for my own sense of security. Wonderful experience!

**Facts and Tips** Rebuild by Ludwig II in 19th century during the Neuschwanstein construction, this bridge offers an amazing view of the castle and waterfall! Tips: Catch the sunset in this spot and try to avoid weekends as the waiting time can be long!

Best views of the castle from here. Crossing the bridge is also kinda fun as some of the wooden planks are on it are a bit scary. Across the bridge, there is a 10 minute hike leading up to another view with a different angle on the castle.

Great view of the Neuschwanstein castle. Though it can be a bit scary for people who are scared of heights - the bridge is of metal but the boards are of wood, and they shake a bit when people walk over it.

I’ve read that it was closed but what a surprise that I found yesterday while I was there that it was open!!! I’m so happy that I managed to visit this bridge because it does have the best views.

  • 4/5 Francis C. K. 10 months ago on Google
This is just a bridge but we can enjoy full view of Neuschwanstein castle there, that's why this bridge is meaningful. People say that there are at least 3~5 good spots for castle views, but I think this is the best unless it’s too crowded. I was not aware of time has been passing that much with wonderful scenery from this bridge. Must visit place when you visit the castle.

It is not far from the castle, there is good accessibility and it offers an incredible panorama of the castle.

Oh, this was one of the to-do list. All hiking efforts are put in worth when you and at this bridge enjoy the architecture of the castle. The engineering team needs appreciates too to build this bridge.

This is a great spot to view the Castle, and you can climb up on the top of the hill as well for a better look of both Castle and the mountains behind including the whole view of the lake. It's totally worth it to climb. Don't miss this place out during your visit!!

  • 5/5 Enrico B. 11 months ago on Google
This is the best view of the Neuschwanstein Castle but be aware this place gets so overcrowded with tourists. Better to get up here early morning so it’s not so overcrowded. But this place is one of the best spots to get a photo of the castle.

Don’t expect to find the bridge empty and pls when you are there have a culture for people that have babies in strollers let them go, you not going to miss nothing. Great view to the castle, bridge is very high. Under the bridge is amazing waterfall. Also bridge feels unsafe.
