This is a special healing place. The waters of the natural spring that fill the lake have healing powers. It is in fact a sacred place recognized by the Hawaiians since ancient times. A nice place to picnic, bring the kids, go solo, meditate, offer prayers, give thanks and praises to the Creator, the Earth and to gentle ones mood.

No frills park with just a little spring in the middle of Honolulu. Great place to sit, relax, and watch birds... Unless the rooster is crowing. And don't sit under the tree full of birds.

Great hidden mini park with a small pond and ducks inside. The springs are under the pond, and the place has a history that dates back before the western contact with a legend of a goddess spirit that still guards the springs until today. Please visit with respect to the place, otherwise the goddess may caste a spell.

Unbelievable oasis tucked away in this quiet neighborhood! Bring your kids, the grandparents, and anyone who needs a little respite. Plenty of benches and even some amphitheater-style seating for 30+people. And the playground and basketball court across the street are also quite nice!

Small park with a spring/pond with ducks, carp, pigeons and chickens running around. Half the park is shaded by trees. -watch out the birds roosting on the tree branches, poop everywhere. -fish and ducks love to be fed. -park across the street, no restrooms. Basketball court, child playground, and tables and bench seats.

Very nice little urban park. Must not miss out. There's a nice spring fed pond with fishes worth seeing. 5*'s if there's no bums, pot smokers hanging around. City could clean the pond and grounds better due to historical significance.

It's a small little spot but has it's merit. The koi fish are huge!

Natural fresh waters from the mountains, makes this pond a special one. My 7 year old son loves it here, he gets to feed the lovely koi fishes and the wild ducks. I recommend this place for anyone with kids, they will love it!

This place used to be a lonely lifeless Artesian Spring pond. No animals or plants resided here. Now there are ducks galore and all types of freshwater fish from sword tails to plecos to pacu the size of dinner plates! Fishing here is not recommended because whomever donated the fish keeps a good eye on them and please, leave them alone for everyone to come and enjoy. A must for the family with children.

Kunawai Springs park needs better management.. the natural pond is a bathroom for ducks and desperately needs bathrooms again.. a crook, Rod Tam, lied to the neighborhood and said the existing pavillion and bathrooms would be renovated after the roof was fixed.. never happened!

The history of this place is posted on a bronze plaque and it’s kinda sad. The fish are neat.

What is a sacred place has been overtaken by feral pigeons. Apart from the birds, it’s a cool site because of its historical significance in Hawaiian culture & tradition.

We love this pond. We wish we knew how the public could participate in keeping it clean and fish feed.
