One of the quickest hikes to a waterfall on Oahu It's a short and easy to moderate hike up to a gorgeous waterfall area. Which makes it a very popular, crowded hike. The parking can be tight/tough on a busy day. Please do not double park. The biggest hurdles you'll find here are parking and mud. On a rainy day or if it rained hard a few days prior you will face lots of mud obstacles along your hike. There are 2 spots in particular that can get extra muddy and difficult if you aren't prepared. Bring your "muddy" hike shoes or an extra pair later to change into after. If it's a dry day, you're in luck! You'll have an easy time getting to the waterfall. The hike starts through a beautiful bamboo forest into an opening and then up towards the mountain.

Good for kids (youngest we hiked with was 7 yrs). We do not hike much and were able to do this. The elevation was higher than 277. There's little creeks and there's little spots for breaks. The waterfall didn't have much water but it was still pretty to look at. There's a little restaurant you can get snacks and a light lunch (hot dogs, 🍱 bento, smoothies etc.)

We started out doing a hike to one of the waterfalls. It said to follow a pink ribbons. We found a waterfall and it is beautiful but on our way back we got lost for 3 and half hours before we lose sun light. So beware because you might get lost like we did. It not for a beginner hike. Bring lots of water and wear good shoes. Besides that, hiking there was the most beautiful spot I've have ever see.

A fairly easy hike with an awesome waterfall in the end. It was muddy, rainy but that gives you a cool experience! Follow the pink ribbon that leads you to the waterfall. I would recommend some good shoes you don’t mind getting muddy and definitely not flip flops! We took some cool pics here! It’s a must! I will also say, while we were here 4 cars were broken into and told from locals that it always happens so don’t leave anything visible or valuable in your car.

Good hiking, it took us 2 hours round trip (we just took a lot of pictures and made videos). Once turned on the wrong road. There were many people. Parking was found quickly by the road. I would recommend waterproof shoes because you have to walk through the rocks and they are slippery.

This hike was my favorite, going through the bamboo forest was like a childhood dream. I loved the variety of terrain on the hike. The pink and orange ribbons were very helpful guides. Ending at the falls was amazing! Side Note: do not leave valuables in your car. I was a little nervous when we arrived at the parking lot and saw a cop, 3 cars had been broken into and glass was everywhere.

The trail while dry had some muddy parts to navigate through at the beginning and as you went through the bamboo forest. As you make your way up the trail the first few difficult spots are when you have to cross the creek multiple times so bring your balance game as you hop across river rocks or be prepared to get wet. Theirs some tight spots as the foliage seems to swallow you up but no worries towards the last part before the falls theirs 3 ways up you can rock scramble to the left or take two separate paths to the right and than you're there. The path is marked with ribbon I saw red pink and yellow along the way so it's hard to get lost but we saw a few manage to wonder off trail. The falls were beautiful as expected but if you'd like some more private less crowded appreciation of the falls it's best to get there early or it gets packed. As we were leaving after having the falls to ourselves for half and hour a group of 40 came so keep that in mind.

This hike was pretty awesome! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes you'll probably get wet. Also when you're hiking be sure to stay as close to the river but as possible. We veered off and ended up much higher than we needed to be it was sketchy getting to the fall. When we got to the falls we took some photos hung out met some cool people. The fun part is when you start the hike we walked through a bamboo field It was like being amazed. Not sure how we found our way through but we did get back to the car. We were pretty muddy but it was worth it.

A bit medium level mountainous hike through bamboo forest area. When hiking follow the trail with some colored ribbon knots around the forest! But the final place of water falls is well worth it.

I really enjoyed this trail! The waterfall was perfect and the little ones along the way were also very beautiful to look at! We parked on the nuuanu pali exit. There was plenty of parking when we arrived around 9am on a Thursday. I went through the hassle of getting a permit which was not needed, or maybe we just got lucky? There was no one there asking for them. The trail started out easy and got progressively more difficult as it went on. It was very muddy and we did alot of rock hopping across the stream on our route. What people say is correct, there are no trail markers and it is easy to get lost, there are many side trails. I used the navigation downloaded from here and it was easy peasy. Just stay close to the stream when you find it and it will take you the rest of the way!

    1. Parking space can be found by the entry to Nuuanu Pali Drive from the Pali Highway. Pin that in your gps. O.w Google would led you to do parallel parking on the highway. 2. Go upstream against the little river. There seems to be narrow paths along both side of the river/stream down from the fall. When you find a dead end on one side, look over to the other side and there shall be a way after you cross the stream. 3. Seems some pink plastic ribbons are tied to trees as indicators. They could be helpful if you are looking for confirmation. However, I made a wrong choice of direction when no ribbon could be seen nearby( upon which the following conversation with my partner made the journey even more fascinating…) 4. Choose your shoes wisely. Part of the trail is muddy and slippery. Waterproof shoes could be a plus considering the need to cross the stream couple of times. I find normal outdoor sneakers fine as the tread stones in the stream are more than enough to keep your feet dry. 5. The scenery is worth every droplet of your sweat. I love it.

I give it a 4 only because we got pretty lost for a bit. You do follow the ribbons but there are multiple places to follow. Once you find the stream, stay near it. You'll have to cross the stream about 4 times, back and forth. Eventually the stream will be on your right hand side as you get up to the waterfalls. Hiking boots highly recommended. Some areas are kind of slippery. Expect to get wet and a bit muddy. Today we did see a police vehicle parked in the parking lot which was a relief. I'm glad they're taking the vandalism seriously since it was so bad before.

Pretty hike, spectacular views, small waterfall at the end with a little pool. It can be slippery, so wear the right sneaker. Bring some water too - but there is parking and a small food/drink station at the bottom of the hike.

Really beautiful and rewarding hike. Definitely a bit moderate. Recommend following the pink ribbons to get up and neeeed shoes for water. Prepare for mid-day showers. You technically need a permit, which is $2.50/group. 1 printed on you and 1 copy of it on your car’s dash, but I hear they don’t often ticket.

The hike starts with a beautiful bamboo forest and then leads up the stream to the waterfall. Be aware of the different trails that will bring you to the waterfall - some can be very steep and dangerous! At some points you will have to cross the river and use the big stones (some are slippery), at other points you might be misled to steep and dangerous inclines, which can be avoided and are only suitable for experienced hikers, since there is a 30 foot fall behind you. So just stay on the low ground, close to the river, rather than risking your life. There are pink, blue and orange little flags that signal a path to the waterfall, but as I had mentioned, some of them will lead you to dangerous inclines (see my first picture). So if it seems too steep, don't risk it - we turned back and looked for another path, because the one in my first picture was too dangerous for some of our group. The waterfall itself is nice, but not as amazing, as those I had seen in Iceland - so just enjoy the path leading you to it. Use some mosquito repellent, because those suckers just thrive there and be prepared for some rain, because you will definitely get wet. The weather was warm, rainy and humid during our hike. Also return before sunset or it might be difficult to find your way back. The parking lot is at the entrance of this trail (picture with the beautiful rainbow).

Amazing view and great hike be careful it can get slick and muddy. There are several trails and opportunities to see wild life and hunters. Falls are well worthy of the 30-45 min hike.

This was such an exhilarating experience for someone like myself who does not usually hike. It was a good level of challenge, but not frustrating. The end result was a gorgeous waterfall & peace. I would definitely do this again for the end result. My husband & I enjoyed this experience together and I'll never forget it. So thankful to earth's beauty!

It was very nice up there, but don't leave valuable in plain sight. The likelihood of your shoes getting wet is high; you'll be crossing the creek a few times and lots of muddy.

Fairly easy trail with a few difficult sections, also the markings are sometimes less than desirable, I took a few side spurs but didn't lose more than 5 mins before realizing it was not where I wanted to be. Parking is pretty obvious and there is a fair amount. Entries are as shown.
