It took over one hour until we received the food, only to receive burned spare ribs, after asking the waiter told us ‚that is normal so‘. We didn’t want to eat the burned food & ordered something else instead, only to have some plastic wrap in between the food. All in all a bad experience & NO RECOMMENDATION!

Typical Dutch eetcafe menu, good beer selection. Reasonably priced, reasonably good food. The best is to sit downstairs, ideally at the bar for the best atmosphere. I don't recommend upstairs.

Great food & ambience. We were new to the place, so we asked them for help to suggest us what to eat, and they were pretty helpful describing the food and helping us choose a great meal. Will definitely go back next time we are there.

We came here a few times - they have remarkably tasty food for a beer bar, and a fantastic selection of Dutch and Belgian beers. It's a lively place on Friday and Saturday, but during the week it's pretty relaxed and mellow.

I've been coming to Haarlem for years, and I am disappointed it took me this long to stop in. Might be my new favorite cafe in Haarlem. Good food, good beer, great atmosphere. Gezelligheid

The place is cool, sevice is very good but the food was OK.... the quality of the meat is not the best one. The meat was not that tender and very raw. Could be better. The salad was also very poor. Good fries tho! Points to improve: meat quality and better salad. :)

Me and my husband came here on the last night of our holiday in Haarlem. The place was packed but the staff we so attentive and friendly the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. Even though we didnt have a reservation we could have a drink amd they squeezed us in for food, which was very reasonably priced and high quality. It was great to ha e traditional warming food in a bustling place on a cold autumn evening. The beer was great and very well priced in comparison with other bars in the area. We wish we had gone sooner but we will have to visit again next time we r in Haarlem.

Nothing much to complain about. Food was delicious. It was very busy so service could be faster at an earlier or later time than around 7:00pm which was probably peak time. Lucky to get the last table! Good honest fare and some options at a really good price. Food got to table quickly enough especially in view of the peak timing. To get 5* would have required something extraordinary so well done all round! The atmosphere was good though perhaps again because of the time it was hard to hear over the hubbub, even the music seemed faint which is a good sign. Not echoey. Interesting ambiance, artworks etc. Lots of locals which is a good sign.

Nice staff and good food. Cosy and typical is the atmosphere. They even made space for our dog but asking another table to exchange with us. Amazing!

Love this place. A local hangout with unique ambiance and great food, service and beers. Nightly specials and ample size portions. Visited twice in our stay in Haarlem and was not disappointed at all. We will return.

Bruxelles is not what it was anymore. The ambiance is still very "gezellig" but waiting time and quality food is far below acceptable quality. After eating the salmon, our daughter was felled by food poisoning. Hygienics in this place are not as they should be. Nice example, take a look trough the window located behind the bar from the new roof terrace. It will take away all the appetite!

Great food, good beer, we were able get a table even during pub trivia. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Great pumpkin ginger soup and delicious fries!

A lovely bar off the beaten track down an alley and yet close to the heart of Haarlem. A good selection of mostly Dutch and, as you would expect from the name, Belgian beers. The food is superb and excellent value for money. Very popular with the locals, which is always a good sign.

This little restaurant is the perfect place when you want to taste a local beer and having a dinner among the locals.

One of the best places to eat I have tried so far. I have eaten here twice (October and December) and they nailed it both times. Lamb pesto was fantastic and second time I ordered pork steak with blue cheese sauce - dreamy! All this was accompanied with some lovely beers and finally with a sticky toffee dessert that was over the top. All this at more than fair price tag. This is the place to eat and drink! Very relaxed and cozy, you can eat at the bar or on the tables.

The portions are not sufficient for the price paid. Do not expect any main courses below 17€. The vegetable pie was just as big as a piece of cake. Friendly hosts and good ambiance.
