We found it rather pleasant and enjoyed the extra large size deluxe room! The Saturday live music in their adjoined pub was great fun. Shame they weren't serving breakfast but was no bother to us really as there's a cafe just across that serves tasty food. Location for local amenities Wass excellent, Ashdown Forest is so beautiful

Stayed for one night with a friend. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom was clean with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Only slight negative room was rather dated and smelt a bit musty, but you can't always have everything. Would recommend it!

Friendly and very helpful staff. Village residents amiable and Village well served by shops. Roads full of potholes. Shame on the council.

Arrived for overnight stay before our flight to Egypt. The bath was disgusting but I needed to wash my hair no bath mat when I went to get out I slipped and caught the top of my left arm between the tap and bath my husband had to come and help me out. My arm immediately came out in a bruise and was so painful when I was using hairdryer. Nobody was about to report it too and it was only 10.30pm Not sure how I'm going to manage my luggage at the airport. Will definitely be taking action against them for negligence I am a 69year old lady

My wife fell in the bath after having a shower injuring her arm which became trapped between the taps and the bath. She was subsequently unable to get from the bath on her own. The resulting bruise to her arm causing great distress, and and embarrassment. In spite of writing to the owner, who has deemed it unnecessary to reply, which gives an indication of the customer care at this hotel. All for the sake of an antislip bath mat.

So simple and so fun! And economical! My fave place to stay in Forest Row! And the decor matched my outfit and the bed wasn’t too bouncy! Selfies by me! @nadajonesphotography

One of the male bar staff, the one with glasses, decided to inform us that he would "drink our drinks for us if we didn't hurry up and leave" at 12:45 when the bar shuts at 1. He was clearly more occupied with the "lock in" he was about to have with his mates. Found him to be very rude, which is a shame as the rest of the staff are lovely.

Checked in on Tuesday 24th October, room on first floor .. toilet not properly cleaned, tea mugs had stains on outer rim and bed base tatty and uncovered..overall appearance in need of update .. considered hygiene to be below standards , so much so that we decided not to stay even though we had paid in advance.. I had a procedure booked at local hospital on the 25th so didn’t want to be stressed around the hygiene.. managed to get a room at premier inn nearby ..spoke to receptionist on day and explained why we decided not to say .. she gave me email address to contact manager, so far no response and no refund .. would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel .

A very disappointing experience: My room was dusty, no information in the room, painting pealing off the walls. Bathroom was awful, and surprised that for guest's health something in that condition would be allowed: Im happy to post a video of all the mould around the bath, ceilings and floors. I know the building is old and Im not a fussy person however there is a minimum level of clean needed. I needed another 2x nights stay but had to move out due to the level of dust and mould. When I checked in I arrived with a suitcase with no one that ws available to take the suitcase up to my room as there are no lifts. I had to struggle with the receptionist to move my suitcase upsatairs and of course nothing rolls on carpet. When I left and asked if someone could help me to bring my suitcase down I couldnt believe the lack of customer care...... In the morning when I left my room there was a chair in front of my door... for safety this was not something I expected to see when I opened my door.... I tried some food the first night in the bar..... maybe enough comments for now...... I now live in Australia however I lived in Forrest Row for many years, the Brambletye is a beautiful building and location however the Hotel needs to be brought up to standard (well the room I stayed in for sure....) Im not a person who complains as I always look at the positives, this was for me a real shock re standard of hygiene and service.

Didn't stay in the hotel. Only went to see the live music, but the bar staff were great, the music was great and there was a big car park around the back.

Holy moly does this team bend over backwards to make your stay perfect! From my first initial enquiry (last June) I have found every single interaction with the staff to be helpful and polite. We got married nearby, but needed a place to stay the night before. All 22 of us (bridal party) decended on the Brambletye Hotel, and they were accommodating, helpful and gave us the most beautiful 'day before the wedding' meal. The food was delicious. The service was exceptional and efficient. We can't thank all of the hotel and their staff enough for making our stay so enjoyable. Every single member of our party enjoyed the food. Thank you to Anton & his team!

Came here to meet up with family. Bar area is very nice and spacious. Service ok, food choices limited as out of stock with a lot of things, and food ok, but nothing special

Popped in for lunch and rather wished we’d explored Forest Row further. Not very welcoming and it seemed almost an inconvenience for us to be there. The food (sandwiches or jacket potatoes only as they were very busy- they were not!) was very, very basic and even that not particularly pleasant. Very disappointed and we won’t be returning.

Would not recommend. Was in the area for a work trip and the hotels in town were fully booked so got booked into here and honestly, should have just done the drive home and back again the next day. Got to an unattended reception. Rang the doorbell on the desk, noone came, rang a second time and finally someone appeared. Was asked to pay for the room, which had already been paid when booked. Bar looks nice from outside but did only have 2 people inside, I didn't venture in once I saw the room because if the rooms are this bad what is the bar like.. restaurant also was empty. The room oh lord; Mould in the bathroom and not just small or hidden. All above the shower and toilet. Ceiling wall paper all falling apart, open electrics hanging out of the wall. A mirror just balanced on the table not secured. White stain marks on the blue cushion and bed runner. Oh and it's minus degrees outside and no heating on in the room either.

We were travelling for 8h. This is not the place we would have wanted to spend quiet night to rest at, if we have known the below conditions: 1. Non-Fit for purpose room - noise level, condition and privacy: we were shown to a room, directly above a live band area playing down-stairs. The music was so loud, the room was resonating from the music and impossible for anyone to stay in. We then requested to be moved to another room and so we were moved to the next room down the corridor. Whilst the resonance in the room was not to the level of that in the first room, never the less, extremely unsettling, and with the sound level still extremely loud and the music going on until 1:30 am in the morning. Needless to say, we had a very unsettling and sleepless night. Poor quality of the room with wall paper peeling from the ceiling, direct access to neighbouring windows from the accommodation window without any day curtains. Broken kettle - auto switch off was not working. Dirty towels. 2. Rudeness of staff: came down to talk about the noise issue and asked to be moved. - we been told this is the last room. However, then receptionist has said there is another room with 2 single beds. Then another person joined, we assumed, the acting manager was quite unprofessional and rude and told the other member of staff (whom accompanied me to exchange room) to hurry up and get back to the bar in front of me - very unprofessional and rude given the circumstances. 3. No parking facility provided: When we arrived at the hotel, the sign pointing to the car park for the hotel pointed to a waste piece of land, which was flooded. Therefore, we did not dare to risk negotiating into the area and managed to find a parking spot on the main street, further down from the hotel. 4. We were still charged for the room (without looking into our complaint) full price as for double room we even paid extra to have biggest room. We were not even given a discount for all that inconvenience.

Enjoyable stay, helpful staff who seemed to genuinely want to help. Room was fine with no major concerns. No breakfast currently available which was slightly frustrating.

Nice hotel for a quiet weekend away from it all. The room was very clean as was the bathroom. No breakfast available but the cafe directly across the road was very good. The dinner we ordered at the hotel was delicious. A quirky old building with steep stairs up to room so bear this in mind if you have mobility issues and contact the hotel directly to get a suitable room. Over all good value for money.

Only here to use the restaurant. I walk with a stick and my guest uses an electric wheelchair. Staff made great efforts to assist us with access and to find a suitable table. Service friendly and efficient. Food plentiful and good.

A genuine, warm, friendly place. Not posh and upmarket but real, economical and clean. They hosted our old guys football team. Would stay again
