My family and I have visited here for a meal and received great service and a fantastic service. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, Alicia who served us was absolutely amazing and she was very professional and always had a great laugh with us. Food was absolutely without a doubt amazing again could never say 1 bad thing about this place. We have always chosen here for a meal when we have visited from Devon. Thank you again

Had Ubereats form here. The food was the worst food I have ever eaten. As can be seen from the photo the corn on the cob was white and not cooked correctly. How did they even get it that colour??? the meat was such low quality it was almost laughable. The chips were uncooked and needless to say I didn't eat half of it, and was still unwell after!

Only visited this place quickly for a drink and something to eat while away on a trip. Sat outside so can't speak too much re the atmosphere but was generally okay. The food was a bit pricey I felt for a harvester but was alright.

Wonderful place to take the whole family for lunch/ dinner, very good service, reasonable prices, plenty of fresh salad, that was refilled quickly and efficiently, everyone's meal arrived at the table at the same time, which in my book is a major plus, friendly staff.

We have been coming here regularly for nearly two years. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and knowledgeable and it is clean. Dine inside, or outside when the weather permits. For those who like a drink there is a fully functioning bar for the rest there are numerous drink options including all you can drink coffee and softdrinks. It is worth a visit for a great choice of food from breakfast (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) or lunch or dinner every day. Lots of parking outside, tables outside.

Nice pub on the edge of Polegate. We were a party of three and we all thought the food was very nice. Nice selecting of beers/ales too. Will be returning. 😊

Came for lunch today and cant fault the place. The food, atmosphere and my waitress Hannah was all brilliant. Hannah was informative and very knowledgeable of the restaurant. Would definitely recommend

Went for dinner at that weird Twixmas time where nobody knows what day it is. Had the loveliest waitress- so nice and chatty and excellent service. (Jan I think she was called but I could be wrong). Food was good - chicken skewers- definitely recommend them. Very reasonably priced.

I don't normally put bad reviews on business unless I think it's really necessary. we booked a table at horse and groom two/three weeks prior to Christmas Day, we paid quite a bit of money for the meals but it really disapointed. the steaks were completely raw and tasteless and my wife's meal looked like the food was just all over the place. we've ordered three steaks and it was completely wasted. there was no taste of anything and as my kids were cutting through it, the meal was not looking appealing. the guys serving the table was great by the way. no complaints about the girls and the guy at the door. unfortunately we had to leave before finishing our course because it was just not great food wise. sorry

We had a really lovely experience. Our waitress went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. She couldn’t do enough to make sure the kids had everything they needed. Also the santa visit was fantastic, the best one we’ve ever seen.

An excellent meal at a very good price and the staff were all very attentive, friendly and helpful. A big surprise as my experience of Harvesters in the past has not been good. Well done Horse and Groom team.

Stopped here on spec after a day out. It was busy but we were able to be seated without a booking. Still offering a free salad bowl, which all looked fresh with plenty of choice. The haddock and chips was hot and a good size. My 'dirty' chicken burger was tasty, it could have been a bit hotter, the chips were a bit 'chewy' too. Service was good despite it being busy. It was a bit noisy, lots of families dining around us but it was 5.45pm on a Sunday so not that surprising. Too full up for a pudding, which would have been £17.49 for 2 courses.

Our family had Christmas lunch here. Unfortunately just before we arrived the pub was subject to a power cut. This resulted in delays and disruption due to the computers between front of house , kitchen and bar going down. The staff rose to the added pressure together with a busy Christmas days service with great professionalism. It must have been chaotic in the kitchen but our food was well presented and very good with generous portions being served. Our waitress Sam needs a special mention as she remained cool and calm under a great deal of pressure. So as customers ( a table of 14) our Christmas lunch was very enjoyable and thank you to the manager and the team for working so valiantly in such trying conditions.
