Food and ambiance is always excellent.. M-F 11am-3pm is lunch specials and they give you free cheese for the table during those hours.. Lunch special have great options at very affordable prices.. I always have my son and daughters birthday dinners here.. The waitresses and staff are on point and very fast.. DO NOT GET THE BIRRIA.. it in no way taste like Birria tacos.. the flavor is overwhelming and bitter.. I had to send it back and order something else... NOT WORTH IT..

Very good Mexican Restaurant in the Mexican neighborhood of Magnolia. Very good combination plates. Waitstaff provide excellent service & you are served without much delay.

I was surprised because it hadn't been as good as it used to be, but we went Sunday night to celebrate a birthday and it was gooood. I had the 2 fajita enchiladas plate . Oh and the waitress was very nice.

Great place and tasty food but in this ocassion we where a work group of 8 and one of my team worker didn't get the proper service. Plus my carne guisada was delicious bit a little extra salty

We eat there about twice a week. The service is always good and the food is hot and fresh. Can't beat 3 Enchiladas for $9.95. You choice carnitas(my favorite) shredded chicken or ground beef. They have hands down the best chips and salsa. You get free queso at lunch till 3pm. Definitely worth the trip to the Eastside.

Extremely disappointed when their manager did not honor their gift certificate!!! I received a $10 gift certificate from my company and tried to used it on a $12 take out but the manager said I needed to spend more money first. That is not how a gift certificate work! No where on the certificate says I have to spend a certain amount. I will not be coming back to this establishment!

We were there today and the place is beautifully remodeled. The menu is new and very nice and the food was excellent. Everything was improved and to perfection. The service was top notch. We loved it. Thank you Don Carlos. We will definitely be back.

Went on a Saturday Afternoon about 12... We had a table of at least 14 people. The servers where attentive and split the bills correctly.. Which was a pleasant surprise.. The food came out at the same time and was pretty good. Will go back..

My first time at this location, I didn't know it existed. I was at the other one off the expressway bout 4 years, it was good there also! They don't disappoint. Service was great! Leri did a great job! A little pricey, but if you want good food, great service, cold drinks, and the drink is potent!? How else would you not pay for? We will be back. Great memories!

Food was delicious! But service was terrible. Waiter only came by to take our order we had to wave down for assistance. I also felt like I was being stared at by the workers.

So this was a recommendation from hubby as he recently had gone on a business meeting there. I had the Coronado, 2 cheese enchiladas with Chile con queso on top which it was missing just got queso on top, everything was delicious and I normally try something that I would not cook at home but this time I wanted to try someone else's chili con queso. Well maybe next time.

Don Carlos exceeded my expectations in every way! The restaurant ambiance was inviting, the menu offered a diverse array of delicious options, and the service was impeccable. From start to finish, it was a delightful dining experience. I can't wait to return and savor more of their fantastic dishes!

This place is amazing. The portions are pretty big for the price. So you'll have left over. It almost has a bunch of options on the menu as well. Definitely not TexMex. Also, they give 50% off for the military 🪖. The environment is very festive and clean. The servers are very nice and on point. They came by and checked our table many times and only communicated with us as needed. I can tell that the staff is very professional because there are multiple people bussing the tables at one time. Keeping everything clean and orderly. 3-31-2023 update --- we went back here on our way to Mississippi and stopped here for dinner. The first time the food and service was great. This time around the the tacos (meat) we ordered was bitter and it was not tasty. Also they did NOT give us the military discount that was advertised. There is a GIANT poster at the door that says 50% off for military people but this discount was not received the second time around. We're not sure why. If they are not giving out the discount then the advertisement should be taken down. It is false advertisement. So I have decreased from 5 stars to 3 stars the rating as average. Our server was nice, she remembered us from last time. Minus one star for having false poster at the door about the military discount. And the minus one star for the food.

This post was long overdue because Don Carlos is one of my longtime favorite Mexican Restaurants located where I grew up. The food is usually on point and the margaritas are so good! I had the grilled beef fajitadilla with rice and beans. Friends had the flautas, grilled fajitas, fish tacos, menudo and nachos. We ate well! This restaurant holds many food memories. It’s the place you go to before or after church, shopping, studying and simply showing up for life. It’s the perfect friend hangout. Our group has our special table and the staff knows many of us. We went to celebrate my twins birthdays and the service was optimal! They quickly assembled accommodations to fit our large party without hesitation! The hostess and owner were both most gracious!

Yuck is the only word I have to describe the food from our visit today. The tip is included and it was not worth what service we got. Used to come here and enjoy it. Not sure if something changed but will not be returning.

Restaurant was clean and served delicious Mexican food. We had the enchiladas Mexicanas and they were pretty authentic. The staff was attentive to our big party (15 people) and brought our drink and food in a timely manner.

Always a good dining experience here. Their fish tacos are delicious, as well as their salsa Verde. The staff are friendly and take care of you. I've been to the 76th location as the Broadway one, both are same good quality.

The meal overall was ok, margaritas were ok. Entirely too overpriced for just ok food and poor service. We were disappointed when our fajitas weren't sizzling and barely warm when they arrived to the table. Especially considering there was special favor given to (regulars?) Or whomever they were. Their table was set with chips, queso, and salsas prior to arrival. And their fajitas came out steaming hot and sizzling🙄😒 Save your money and skip this one.

Today I went with my family (6) combined three adults and three children only one under 12, so not too loud. We got there for lunch and waited for 40 minutes after we ordered for our food. We took most of it home since we were full on chips and drinks. I paid the bill and didn't realize that my bill had automatic gratuity added on top of gratuity I left so it was much more than I believed it to be. I understand these are hard times but the service didn't reflect the automatic tip as well as the tip I left for me table. It was for a birthday lunch, but don't think I'll be coming back.

We were there Sunday, April 3. And I never had the worst experience with the management and waitstaff ever. I am not sure what transpired on this whole fiasco of being waited on but I will never ever bring my business there again . And anybody that asked me if this is a good place to eat I will tell them no.

Brought my mom here for mother's day. We both love it here. You'll need to ask for a container for leftovers. Great tasting food and the drinks are decently strong. Very enjoyable atmosphere.
