I placed an online order at 3pm. The order said it would be ready at 3:40pm. I had somewhere to go at 4pm. I arrived at 3:55pm, front area seems like total chaos, never greeted or helped until I asked someone about my order. The young lady says “Oh, they’re making it now”. I ask what do you mean? She says they just started it. Unbelievable, so she says they had a lot of orders, at 4pm, the order I placed an hour before STILL wasn’t ready and she had the nerve to have an attitude. I was ready to cancel the whole order but it was already paid for. So, next she says I’m waiting on fries. My fries tasted like someone poured a 1/4 cup of Slap Yo Mama on them. In addition to the fries, I ordered bbq mushrooms and a black bean burger and potato salad. The potato salad did not look fresh at all, it looked like it had been sitting overnight uncovered and no one bothered to trash it and thought it was good for the next day. The potato salad was definitely sus. Next the bbq mushrooms, there wasn’t any bbq flavor on these and they tasted bland. The good is that maybe that’s the only thing that was fresh because they tasted earthy. I wish I could’ve had the black bean burger and enjoyed it, but the black bean burger was literally nonexistent. I had a sandwich that seemed to have more lettuce and tomatoes and other toppings than the burger. Everything was gross. I’m a foodie that loves vegan food and this ain’t it. I wished I hadn’t ordered because the bad service, bad attitudes and bad food and bad vibes was not what anyone asked for. If you want to support a BOB and want really good food try Green Seed Vegan. This is what I get for cheating on them. There’s a lot going on here, a store, seating, some with masks, some without. It didn’t look sanitary and judging the potato salad, I doubt anyone is ServSafe certified. The potato salad alone looked like a Petrie dish of food borne illnesses waiting to happen. I’m new to Houston, but not new to vegan /plant based diets and this was horrible. I ended up wasting over $21 and threw it away. I came by recommendation, but I don’t think this person knows what true vegan food is . Also, the menu has a lot of Beyond burger and soy which I try to stay away from.

Best dairy free nachos in town!!! They are vegan too. People are nice and friendly. Amazing little hole in the wall.

Usually a good spot for vegan burgers and nachos… today was a disappointment. Correct me if I’m wrong but I swear the burger is usually a big portion and a good bang for your buck, but this time I swear the burgers me and my girlfriend ordered were a lot smaller. Our burgers were cut in “half” but the other half had a small piece of beyond meat in it, I was basically eating bread on the second half. The taste is alright but it doesn’t justify the price of a $17 burger. I spent $34 and I got 2 smaller than average burgers with not mind-blowing taste and some fries that could’ve used more seasoning… if we spent 20ish bucks I’d feel differently. You could say the ingredients are “healthier”? Or just overall more expensive but if you want to argue it’s healthier I’d say it’s a moot point considering what I’m eating is a burger and potato fries. Basically, try out sunshine’s for yourself but don’t be surprised if you’re still hungry afterwards.

Outstanding place!!! Hidden gem in Houston. The food is amazing and the service is fantastic. Super relaxed environment. Everything was cooked to perfection. I had a Beyond Burger which was great. Sweet potato fries are savory and the kale salad is fresh. Will most definitely come again.

The staff was not welcoming at all. No greeting or even eye contact. The menu prices were not up to date. The bean burger we came for was more than double the price we saw on here. We came from out of town and did not have transportation or else would have left. Ordered “Black Bean Sandwich” which had a picture of a burger next to it. Ended up getting a sandwich with toast. Staff argued that I ordered the wrong thing. Asked for bun and they said I’ll have to wait another 5 minutes. Food was mediocre. Not worth the money or hassle dealing with careless staff.

This was my first time ordering food from this establishment . I ordered to go and when I arrived to pick up my order everything was packaged. So I asked the lady at the counter if everything was in there( bc it was only two bags and I had order 70$ worth of food). She assured me that it was and then when I got in my car....I did a quick glance it the bag and realized my kale salad was missing. I went back in to inform her and apparently they guy forgot to put it in there and she said that they didn't have anymore at the moment...so I had to wait 15-20 mins for them to make a new batch. 😒 Anywho, I get home only to realize that they didnt put any chips with the nachos that I ordered..they had only packaged the toppings. So I called up there to complain to the girl and asked her if they can give me some compensation or a coupon or something bc they messed up the order twice. She talking about well the chips are free so I can't compensate you for that... Im thinking... but them nachos were not free and yall didn't give me nachos --only the toppings. Plus, I had spent 70$ there and tipped them on top of that. She talking about well next time you come you can get extra chips. Lmao..I be trying to give black owned businesses a chance.. but then they give customers experiences like that and it makes you think twice.

I was so excited to come across this place! I was blown away by the flavorful and variety of the menu! This place has incredible food and Great products on sale for holistic health and prosperity. New favorite place! I just wish that ALL the products on the menu were vegan--they are so close!

Service was fantastic, they were very friendly and helpful as this was my first time there. The beyond cheeseburger was awesome. It had Chipotle which gave it a lovely kick. The sweet potato fries were possibly my favorite. I've had them at other places, but these were truly fantastic. I hope to come again when I'm back in Houston.

I got some sea moss and a Beyond Burger with fries. It was delicious. First time eating vegan and I was happy.

Vegan Nachos Rock! I added that Spicey kale salad and you already know. AWESOME! I want that combo again. Be ready because the spice is kickin’!

I was welcomed upon entry. What a delight! Ordered a few tacos and then proceeded to look around as this was my first time in. The nice lady who took my order also answered a few questions and informed me about the other products they carry. The menu was plentiful and I was only interested in something light for lunch. I’ll be back for sure to sample the other menu items and products. The food was very fresh as well I may say. Update: I returned! The H-town Burger!!! By far one of the top 7 burgers I’ve ever eaten.

Visited for the first time in a while and finally tried the black bean nachos - delicious! I don't know how y'all get that nice smoky flavor and just the right spicy heat, but it's perfection. The garlic kale is a superstar as always, and so was the potato salad that has a li'l kick to it. In fact, everything in that salad case tastes so good. Service is friendly and helpful. Stop in here and try some healthy goodness at this business run by a great family, your body and soul will be glad you did.

Best burgers in town tried sunshine burger and black been burger. The quesadilla was also awesome. Also best sweet potato fries we’ve had. This is the first vegetarian restaurant we went to where my wife asked to go again within a week.

Yum! Absolutely delicious menu items! I have never had such a tasty veggie burger in my life! Other health and nutrition items are available for purchase such a SeaMoss. The four star rating is due to a foul smell upon entering - which can easily turn someone off in an eating environment. Also,, customer representatives behind the counter could be a bit more pleasant. Overall, it’s good to have Sunshine’s in the community. Thank you

I have been here many times and always get the same thing which is always very good. I am not vegan but taken on more vegetarian. When I go in, I think I would like the sales team to welcome me, ask what do you like and offer what they have and/or what’s popular. When you go in, they just say what do you want….I don’t know what I want. I would like to try more on the menu. Just give some highlights. For instance, have you been here before? We are famous for….you may want to try this because….tell me what’s in the item or example what it taste like….Sell It

I was able to find and buy what I needed but the people behind the counter are not friendly at all. They do not speak to you. My friend and I were right behind each other pretty much buying the same thing but they rung her up and just left my stuff just sitting on the counter. Well the clerk did bag it up because she thought I already paid. If I wasn't an honest person I could have walked out of the door without paying but I stood there and the girl said oh you haven't paid and I said no I haven't. It wasn't until she rung me up and I paid that she said thank you have a nice day. So sad black establishments treat you like they don't want to be bothered.

Shocked and sorely disappointed. I haven't been to this place in 3 years; nothing has changed. I was ignored in line for 20 minutes, but we laughed about it. I ordered the black been nachos, they served me bland pinto bean nachos and never said a word. I ordered fries, I specifically stated 5 times, "not sweet potatoes, please, just regular fries." After the nice lady took 10 minutes to find fries on the registry, I was served sweet potatoe fries. I told them it wasn't my order, but I would eat them. They made it up to me though, the super nice lady brought me 11 regular fries ... 11 fries, for $5. I spent $21 for food I didn't want, just like 3 years ago. It's no coincidence, this place falls way short of the hype.

Am a pescatarian, 6 month in. I have found it difficult to find a tasty burger, something with density and bold taste. Yeah I’ve explored many mainstream restaurants, which were ok, but the “Sunshine Burger”is the BOMB!!!!!!! I will be back soon to try other foods. I live on the Southside, but trust me it is worth the trip. The cook deserves a standing ovation.

The food is amazing but it doesn’t do them any good when the customer service and wait times are ridiculous. I placed my online order at 1:40 pm at 2:38 the order still wasn’t ready. We watched someone two spots behind us order, get their order and we were still was waiting on ours. I called right after I ordered to even let them know I was on the way and the young lady told me “ that time is a estimation” . I’m upset more than anything because it was no urgency to satisfy the customer. Once I told them to cancel the order her response was okay I’ll press the button and your money will be back in 3-5 business days Months later and still no refund!!!!!

Black Bean Nachos are amazing, when it is busy expect a wait but it is worth it. I call in my order so it's ready. I love this place and all of the local item they carry. I have used many items. The Black Soap they carry works very good. They have fresh Sea Moss that is very tasty. This is my favorite spot.

I enjoy all the smoothies. The only actual food I purchased was a spicy garlic kale salad, and it was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend it and the prices are great!

One stop shop for health products (sea moss, black seed oil), essentials (lotions, natural soaps, & body butters), plus a full menu of vegan & vegetarian food. Their nachos, spicy garlic kale, & spaghetti are my favorite.

Sunshines is a stop shop for all things healthy. They have vitamins, skin care products, hair care, and more. The vegan nachos was the bomb, they had so much flavor! I thought I was eating regular nachos with ground beef and dairy cheese.

Drove over 80 miles because the fb page said they had sea moss. I found the sea moss and was waiting to pay for over 5 minutes. The two ladies were too engaged in a private conversation with a male customer. Once the store phone rang and one employee took the call, I left. Found sea moss at another store across town. Sad thing is, I've been coming here for over a decade. This kind of service ain't worth the drive. Can't recommend any dish, I am new to vegan foods, I wanted to try something, but again, service was a zero. At this time of day, it was only me and two men (customers) in the store

Entree was delicious! I had the loaded sweet potato fries. Went back again on another day to order the same thing, they were extremely busy and ran out of soy crumbles so I replaced it with black bean burger crumbles and it was still tasty!

I picked up food from here yesterday and everything was so good! I ordered the potato salad, cornbread, and black bean nachos. Everything was delicious and the service was amazing. The black bean nachos were especially delicious as well as the potato salad! Can’t wait to come back again.

I came for the sea moss and left with vegan burger and sweet potato fries and lots more. The place is so clean and organized. The staff was super helpful.

I love their spaghetti. It packed with flavor. The serving size is enough for two and it never disappoints. The bean sprout salad (cold) is awesome. I love the lemon-vinegar flavor. These two items are always ordered. Please bring back the Sister Rolls!!! These are quick and easy treats that can keep ones belly full. I also love the outdoor market in front of the deli. I’ve met some amazing local artists and purchased all kinds of African inspired jewelry and accessories.

Went a good few times back when I worked nearby. The prices were great and the food delicious. The cashiers were super sweet as well and the whole restaurant clean and comfy. Loved everything about this place!!

Dishes are good. Burger/Nachos costs 15$. Rolls aren't offered anymore. Menu on Google maps is outdated. Beans are a bit too burned to be nutritious. Rest is good.
