Never again. THEY CANNOT LEGALLY SERVE BREAKFAST. June 2022 was their last chance. My dad stayed here in June 2022 because it's 5 minutes from my house, inexpensive, and advertised free breakfast. Not only do the NOT serve breakfast, the LEGALLY CANNOT! That was an added inconvenience because my dad didn't rent a car so we had to pick him up early enough everyday so he could get breakfast. While the area, in general, is fine (again, I live 5 minutes away), there is so much loitering in the parking lot that it's uncomfortable. In 2019, we had family stay there. First, the rooms were so dusty, half the family was sick for the bulk of their stay. Second, the only "breakfast" served was a boiled egg and yogurt, EVERY DAY, their entire 10-day stay (no, they didn't eat it).

Transfer to four different rooms the first 24 hours. The first room had no refrigerator or microwave the second room the refrigerator did not work. The third room the toilet would not work ( the employee offered me the plunger and said I could try and fix it) so then I had to go to the fourth room. A short/thin hispanic lady told me that I would get a refund of one night credited to my my card. That never happened I have been checked out of that hotel for 3 weeks now and my deposit is actually still pending......

If I could put 0 stars on this hotel, I definitely would. That was the worst night of my life. There were always people hanging out in the parking lot. My room was dirty, and there was sticky fluid on the carpet, which was disgusting. The elevator was so scary that I preferred to use the stairs. The whole building smelled like cigarettes. I'm never staying there again, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.

Beds are stained. Found what seems like blood stains on curtains. Multiple burnt marks on the carpet. Drawer handles broken. Room overall not clean. Has many stains including water damage on the ceiling. Water pressure from the shower was the worst I have ever seen. Won't be coming back here again.

Where to begin! Let's start with the front desk associate who was sagging his pants had to hold them up to walk! Then there was the broken elevator and fitness room with no fitness equipment as advertised in the pictures! Next, was the room with dirty walls and paint peeling walls. Also dirty rusty microwave, tub, curtains and couches!!! Holes in the sheets as well as couch! Advertised breakfast and there was no breakfast available. The pictures all on the website are all deceiving and LOOK NOTHING LIKE THAT! Please DO NOT STAY HERE THIS HOTEL NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP! OH AND ONE MORE THING THEY HAD ROACHES! TOTALLY A NEGATIVE 5 STAR PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was nervous because of the recent reviews, but we had a nice stay. We didn’t see any roaches, the plumbing was working just fine, the room was clean & didn’t smell like smoke, the staff was polite. We requested a first floor room because apparently the elevator *does* go out for 30-minute periods due to overheating and I’m in a wheelchair so we couldn’t deal with that. The bed was nice, but the lamps and other furniture had some rips & could use an update. Overall, a decent hotel and a good price.

Completely AWFUL. Carpet was sticky, only one elevator worked and was shaking the entire time, bathroom was gross, the bed was shaky and sunken in the middle... I could go on about the ceiling tiles torn out in the hallway, visible water damage, how our non smoking room smelled heavily of smoke, or how the entire hallway smelled like an aquarium, but on top of it all we had to get a new key card EVERY SINGLE DAY of our three night stay because they would only make it available for one night at a time. There was also a device in the room that we couldn't figure out what it was used for, and was uncomfortable. This place is nice from the outside, but we were beyond disappointed. NEVER AGAIN.

The renovations at this hotel made my stay less pleasant but I was given a different room that helped somewhat. The staff was great while dealing with growing changes. I am still waiting on my pet deposit refund of $150.00. I was charged that for my service animal plus an additional $15.00 dollars per day. The manager told me that I would be refunded my deposit in approximately 3 days and it has been several weeks now; even with us communicating. I'm not sure about others but $150.00 is a lot of money not to be returned as promised.

This place is terrible and trashy. Extended stay. Only one of the elevators worked SOMETIMES. Pool and gym out of service. In room phone not functional. Breakfast not served several mornings. Staff incompetent. It took 17 minutes to check out, not waiting in line but actively checking out.

So I left this short trip up to my son who i now REGRETFULLY lay here praying this night will be over soon! First impression walking through the door smelled like roach spray, one elevator was broken and the other on the brink to be broken, old stained dirty floors and peeling paint in the elevator, didn't make the ride any better as it rattled& shook all the way up to the 4th floor. Room doors were cracked along the side as obviously looked like it was attempted to be broken into. Room had a musky odor that matched the overall room itself. Light bulbs were flickering on and off , bed just after a long day walking and touring the city doesn't at all look or feel inviting. THANK GOODNESS I BROUGHT MY OWN BLANKET&PILLOW!! I immediately remove the layers of sheets and one of them had stain like perhaps old dirt. Carpet was not vacuumed, ripped , burned , and mystery stains on the carpet. Bathroom was okay but in used to hotels hospitality services such as standard shampoo&conditioner AND SOAP would be provided but I guess for this hotel these items would place them into bankruptcy 🙄Thankfully Ive always had a habit of of bringing my own toiletries and blanket! No real channels since local nothing to distract me from a hellish experience so far. Placed my own blanket&pillow over the bed. Took an anti-anxiety pill and couple shots until I am drunk enough to imagine this isn't happening right now!! The overall ambient of this hotel&room is unsafe, unclean , unbearable and undeniably uncomfortable I'm beyond myself right now and morning can not come soon enough!!! Lastly the receptionist was extremely helpful and kind if it wasn't for her sweet vibe i would have just slept in my son's car!!

The young lady working 3rd shift was excellent in helping me book my stay. She did everything she could to get me the best rate and was quick through the process. Totally appreciate her. It's people like that who make a difference in my future hotel booking decision. She wasn't a typical 3rd shift worker who I always feel as though I'm bothering them to do there job. Very cute and professional. Be staying again soon I'm sure.

This has been the worst experience at a motel of my life, if I could give zero stars I would. they first gave us a room on the 4th floor which smelled like smoke everywhere even in the halls and In the room, they then put us on the 3rd floor it still had a slight smell just not as bad as the 4th floor. when we got to our room the door knob was broken and when you got inside the lock was also broken the carpet was stained, I didn’t feel like the room was cleaned and sanitized properly and the bed was very uncomfortable. I do not recommend staying here the whole experience is just not worth it. When we came to check out there were cops in the lobby, that’s not a good sign. Looking at all the bad reviews I still tried it out and was very disappointed and unpleasant.

If I can give them zero stars I would! This place is disgusting and ran down. At check in they secretly take a photo copy of your cc and ID and don’t dispose of it. The agent was rude when I asked why are you doing this without my permission. 5 mins upon checking in the elevator went down and I was located on the 3rd floor. There are many different smells inside the entire hotel including mold in the bedroom. There was no water from 6am - 12(check out) and management didn’t even do anything. No free breakfast as advertised, no fitness center as advertised and no pool as advertised. Very sketchy people stay here and there’s definitely illegal activity going on. People hang out around the building all day. You can spend an extra $20 and go to the Marriott nearby. PLEASE DON’T STAY HERE. Owners clearly don’t care about the place so take your money elsewhere UPDATE: GM attempted to reach out to me. When I called she placed me on a 15 min hold and never came back to the phone. She then responded via email very nonchalant about my concerns and unprofessional. Didn’t even offer no type of apology or compensation for my horrific stay. It’s clear that no one cares about the guest here.

Staff was friendly. 3 credit card was denied, before the staff reset the system and it was approved. I couldn't do anything but lol. Another client same thing, he show the staff it was taken out and wow approved. My 1st room TV didn't work. 2nd room touch up paint all over the walls, carpet burn and rust on bathroom doors and in tub. Make it worse bugs bites over my chest and neck

DO NOT STAY HERE! All the bad reviews are true. We had to change rooms 4 times. All rooms smelled like smoke BAD! The front desk lady was awesome. Very kind, professional. This has nothing to do with her. She was the only reason this place is getting a star. All rooms had blood spatter on carpets. Some rooms had holes in wall and roaches. In my specific room there was an exposed nail on carpet by door that my wife cut her foot. Only 1 elevator worked and I could confirm it was shaky. The hot tub in the pool didn’t work. The vending machines and I’ve machine didn’t work. When we brought up these concerns. The owner hid in the office, had the front desk clerk handle all complaints. Poor lady. But she did great. Then here’s the kicker the “acting manager” came out with a beer in his hand to handle these complaints. Reeked if beer. Made no sense. Went off on one of my athletes moms because she was voicing her concerns of the blood on carpets, torn up curtains and overall feeling of the hotel. That was enough. Do not stay here. There are 3 more hotels in the area ranging from $8-$14 more. Trust me when I say the $$$$ is worth it. Stay anywhere else but here.

We have paid more for less than here... Entry way - nice Elevator - scary Room - nice fridge, microwave Room 317 Bed 3.2 out of 5 Shower great- there is even a grab bar in the regular shower 👍good water pressure, the sink though has low water pressure Arm of couch fell off when sitting. No Fire detector Light above fridge flashed all night (30sec delay strobe) when lights were off, but not if you had all the lights on 🤦‍♀️ But we're going to say, we felt better here than other hotels. *📣Do NOT go to the gas station next door after dark.

The receptionist had AirPods in the entire time and was very rude. She just mumbled when she talked and couldn’t hear me over her music. The rooms are hot and the AC barely works. I need a fan because it feels like there’s no air circulation. One elevator doesn’t work and the other sounds like it’s on its last leg waiting for a victim. The other guests are all loud and drunk. I thought this place would be decent for the location but this is money wasted!

My experience was terrible. Both of our rooms upon arrival had a very nasty smell. The bed had dust mites in the sheets due to the humidity levels. in one of our rooms, there was blood stain on the floor and the sheets appeared unclean. in our other room, it looked like the coffee machine had previously caught on fire as there were a smoke mark in the mirror, as well as a bird mark on the countertop and on the floor. There were holes in the walls. Only one of the elevators was working. When me and my family got inside, the elevator shook as it was moving up to our floor. Asked for a refund. The staff informed me that I had already been checked in for an hour and hung up on me.

My recent stay at this hotel was a complete disaster. It's astounding how poorly managed this place is. We switched rooms three times – first to room 311, where the AC was broken in scorching 108°F weather; then to room 323, only to find a non-functional TV. Despite reporting these issues, the maintenance staff was nowhere to be found. The relentless game of room roulette continued, with us eventually settling into room 320. A supposed two-day stay turned into a marathon of endless trips to the front desk, wasting precious time that should have been spent relaxing. The icing on the cake was the cleaning staff's audacity. At 9:30AM, they pounded on the door, claiming "room service" even though check-out wasn't until 11AM. When I questioned their timing, their blank stares were reminiscent of someone deciphering a foreign language. Sure, I'll admit to a lapse in judgment – the allure of a $50 per night rate blinded me to the hotel's abysmal 2.9-star rating. As if the room shuffling wasn't enough, the surrounding area was equally disappointing. This hotel is an embodiment of chaos, and I strongly advise against anyone subjecting themselves to this kind of ordeal. It's a bargain you'll deeply regret.

Clean and cozy. My favorite thing in a hotel is the pillow quality and this place has some of the best. Breakfast was decent as well.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. The staff has horrible customer service and please don't check in with Leshawn she is rude and will cause problems because she stays there. They will back her unprofessionalism and make you leave the property. Service animals are not allowed if you are African American. They will simply harass you and make paying the hardest part of your life. A lawsuit will be in the making so please be expecting it. The staff is related to the owner and you will not win the battle of trying to defend yourself.

It would take forever to go over the problems. 1st I had reserved 2 rooms and only one was ready when we arrived. There were wires hanging from the ceiling where the smoke detector was suppose to be. The A/C unit in 1 room needed to be survived or replaced, it would stop working or freeze up. The cable service was out of order so only a few local channels would come in maybe 7 channels. The remote control for the TV had no battery cover. The sofa in one room was so nasty we refused to touch it. The sofa in the other room was so low to the ground, not good for a handicap person in a handicap room. Thank God I had requested 1st floor rooms as I am in a wheelchair and do not like depending on elevators because the elevators were out if order. Yes out of order elevators. The ice machine was on the second floor and well that meant I was out of luck on ice. This was supposed to be a smoke free hotel and one person came in smoking and nothing was said. She stopped and talked with the front desk clerk who was so busy flirting with her he said nothing to her. She Smoked as she went down the hall and entered her non smoking room. Basically this hotel is run very poorly and should not be affiliated with this brand, unless that is how Wyngate runs their hotels. The WiFi was not great. It would work for a bit and then not work for a long time.

If I could give this location -5 stars I would. I will be calling corporate. When this location first opened, it was a pleasure to stay here. Now this location is the equivalent of a -2 star hourly motel. So there was no breakfast as advertised, however when we got up about 9:30 they were putting breakfast items away. I had to get to my daughter's birthday dinner for 7 it was 6:20 just to give you a timeline. It smelled like cigarettes when you first walk in. Although the front person was kind he had his friends hanging out in the lobby. There we people hanging out outside. Strange! We get to the room and there's no door to the restroom, the safe looks like it had been broken in to, the sofa was broke busted and disgusted, the sham on the bed was filthy, the handle to ever dresser in the room was broken along with the drawers, the shower curtain had stain and the walls were atrocious, the room smelled bad but luckily my daughter had a candle with her, the elevator was broken, the fridge had dead roaches around it and the beds were old as hell, no hair dryer, air conditioner half way worked and there was no phone cord to plug up into the phone to call the front office I asked about changing my room the lady said they were booked.... But the parking lot wasn't full. I asked about putting a door up for the restroom, they said no maintenance was there and that needed to be requested earlier in the day. This place is the worst it could get for me and I absolutely do not recommend anyone staying here. The guy at the front desk is way to laxed for me and the lady was walking around with Crocs on. Who does that? I want a refund, this was below standard and highly in appropriate.

Same bad experience as other that been there 5-6 months ago which I should read before booked. Meanwhile, owner didn't take things seriously like they said. Before pandemic, our family take a trip to Houston once a year for competition. As soon as we pulled in we all realized we had been here before but something caught us of guard. (It was great) Lobby had unpleasant welcome, sofas thorns, dirty walls, ceiling show water leaked and surrounding feel unsafe, elevator still broke. It was 11 pm and tried don't want to go hunt for different hotel. Bathroom had no door, drawer missing handles, carpet stains, old bed, couch look dirty, rustic bathroom door and frame, tv only 1 channel work, wallpaper coming off, door knob rolled with electric/duck tape. Breakfast, only thing that serve hot is waffle which mixed with something else not waffle mix. Only protein is boiled egg. I hope I don't have to hunt them down for my deposit back like other. Will stick with holiday Inn next time. 1st star for front desk 2nd star for nice water pressure even on 3rd floor

Although this is a not a Five Star hotel per the usual standards of 5 star hotels, I’m giving it five stars because of its location and great staff. We attended the Houston rodeo and it was so great to be able to come and go and rest up when we needed a break at the Wingate with its close proximity to the rodeo fairgrounds. Stay included free parking too. It’s over priced during game day but was well worth the stay. Rooms are clean and comfy and definitely old carpets etc but except for that it was the perfect place to stay during our rodeo adventures.

Hotel staff are friendly and helpful to their best abilities. There is no stopper for the bathtub. I am a bath person, so this was not good. Maintenance had no solution available. Older hotel with repairs taking place. The laundry room is being painted, so I could not wash my clothes. There is no ice machine on the third floor currently. The staff makes up for the shortcomings because they are kind!

  • 2/5 Erica L. 1 year ago on Google
There were too many people hanging outside of the establishment at all times of day and night. Made me and my children uncomfortable. There was trash in the room still. The elevator was scary to get on. The gentleman that checked us in and out of the Hotel was the most pleasant. Never using this Hotel again.

  • 1/5 Juanita K. 1 year ago on Google
Thomas and Gabby were good. However my stay at the Wingate by Windham Houston was awful. The room smelled terrible, there was a roach crawling on the wall. The bathroom had no door. The AC was not working properly. The dresser was missing a handle. There was a suspicious guy lurking around the parking lot. The lighting fixtures were rusted.

This specific hotel won't accept cash as a payment method. They require a deposit of 25$ as well. For the price i was extremely intrigued and it's why I had been interested in the room itself. I was more so appreciative of the efficient return of my deposit within the same week. I loved the room size and found hardly anything unappealing about this place and their accommodations.
