Surprisingly large and free museum which includes good English signage. This would be a good location to bring kids who find aircraft interesting. It's also possible to enter some aircraft and there is an interesting nonwestern view on history which we don't always hear

One of the best museums I’ve been to in a while. Lots of interesting exhibits and some are rare. Free entry too. It’s worth visiting. Plan for 2-4 hours if you want to explore fully. Also right by the BTS station. So easy and cheap to get too. The station is named after the museum so also easy to find It is well designed to give visitors a comprehensive timeline of the Royal Thai Air Force from the modest beginning in 1910s to a modern division of the army nowadays. It hosts a grand collection of aircrafts, many of which are scaled down for display purpose. The museum also services the aviation library containing history books, archives, photos, and historical documents of aviation for research and study, preserving to be a legend of The Royal Thai Air Force.

I highly recommend anyone who loves aircraft or wants to teach their children about the fascination of aircraft to go there. I think this museum should be visited at least once by aviation fans not only in Thailand but also abroad. It is very easy to get to as it is just a short walk from the Royal Air Force Museum BTS station. Admission is free. You can touch almost all airplanes and helicopters directly and take pictures freely. You can also enter some of the airplanes and even ride in the cockpit of some of them. Personally, I was impressed to see the Harrier so close up. There are not many people around, so it is a lot of fun to be able to take your time and look at the aircraft from corner to corner. It is a place that is not well known to the public, but I think it deserves more attention.

Although I'm not particularly interested in aircraft and their history i found this an interesting visit. Lots of different aircraft to see both inside the hanger and outside. Entry free. Easy to get there on BTS Line. Plenty parking. There are both English and Thai descriptions of the aircraft. Staff friendly. Small restaurant on site.

I had always wanted to visit and now the sky train has extended and it is really convenient to get there. There was no fee but I appreciate the effort and made a donation. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. There are plenty of air craft displays indoors and out and you can get up close. Indoors highlighted the history of aviation as it related to Thailand. Great place to take the kids for a couple of hours.

This place is full of plane and it history. No entry fees, super nice orientation. The indoor section was nicely arranged according to history of aviation of Thailand. Displays in both English and Thai. They even have a flight simulator for you to experience what it likes to be a pilot. The souvenir shop is selling cool stuff. Highly recommend for any age.

It's an amazing aircraft museum, and it's free !!! About 100 aircraft collection, ranging from civilian plane, helicopter, and fighting jet. A must visit place for aviation lover. There're outdoor and indoor area (with air conditioner). You'll easily spend 2 hours here if you like airplanes.

Had a great time learning about the Thai aviation history. Went on a weekday so the museum was't crowded. Highly recommend anyone who wants to spend a couple hours seeing and taking photos of the aircrafts :) Don't worry about outside rising temperature it's all aircon inside the museum.

Entrance is free, but you can still donate. It's huge place with a lot of airplanes. In some airplanes you can even enter inside. There is also VR part in museum but at the time I visit, It was not operating. There is also small souvenir shop and cafe, prices are affordable.

It's easily accessible by BTS now. No fees for locals or forgniers, it's absolutely free for everyone. The museum has a big selection of airoplanes, and lots of information on display. There is also fantastic cafe if you want to have some food and drinks. Don't miss this great museum. It should be a must for Thai children to visit and learn more about their history.

A very good experience going through Thai military aviation history. The cherry on the top is that the entry is free. I hope that they start the flight simulator, which will be super interesting and fun for enthusiasts.

Great spot with a large selection of planes/helicopters on display. It is a much larger area then anticipated. Shows the history of the RTAF and of the fleet on display, some are only recently retired models. There is no entry fee but a donation can be made. Most information boards are also translated to English. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Museum features alot of old and also rare authentic (majority of the displayed aircraft) fighters and royal thai airforce aircraft. It’s free to enter but know that during public holidays or monday the museum will be closed. It’s a wonderful place to come visit as also there is alot of public transportation nearby such as the skytrain and also bus services a few feet outside of the museum entrance. As of currently there is renovation to some aircrafts and building and also there will most likely new aircrafts being added to the collection soon in the future until the museum either ran out of spaces or just moved/expand the musem to be even bigger!

You can learn a lot about Thailand's air force history and even get to see their first man made aeroplane. There are planes indoor and outdoor. The helicopter section is in a warehouse and the army tanks section is towards the back. You can climb into the cockpits of some of the planes and helicopters. Took a Bolt taxi here from DMK airport and it took around 20 minutes without highway. I've attached a map of the BTS sky train so that it'll be easier for anyone who wants to travel using public transport.

The museum is not well known to tourists but it is worthy of a 2 hours visit. Huge number of airplanes including helicopters outdoor and indoor. Most information are in Thai and English. The museum had 4 simulators with a mock cockpit. Getting there took about 1 hour on the Sukhumvit BTS green line. In terms of the number of aircraft on display, information and details, this museum is far better than the tiny Singapore Air Force museum. What is missing are videos.

(Translated by Google) The extension of BTS has progressed, and the station in front of the museum has finally opened from 20/12. The station name is Royal THAI Airforce Musiam / พิพิธภัณฑ์กอง ทัพอากาศ Station. In the past, it was a little difficult to secure transportation (especially on the way back), but this will solve it, so it seems that the number of visitors will increase. Well, the question is when you will be able to enter the country for sightseeing ... 😩 In the museum exhibition, various aircraft are lined up only in the Thai Air Force, which has introduced the aircraft of each country in a good way. There are not a few things related to Japan, and if you like it, you can see it all day long, but visiting the outdoor exhibition requires a mind and measures to withstand the heat.

Fantastic museum next to the airport. Somehow not extremely advertised but definitely worth going to. Especially if you are interested in any kind of flying or engineering. The museum inside about the history of the Royal Thai Airforce is very well made with all signs available in English as well. Many airplanes inside throughout the last 100 years in perfect condition. Outside plenty of aircraft are parked as well. Not much information available outside though. Big parking spot available. Entry was free and inside the museum I was completely alone on a Saturday morning. Outside just a few people.

Aviation fanatic? Visit the ROYAL THAI AIR FORCE MUSEUM. It has a collection of almost hundred of airplanes and helicopters. It also displays the kingdom's aviation history. From the very simple airplane that is made by woods up to the present. You can also see some rare find models. Surprisingly, it treasures the only existing Curtiss Hawk III and the Corsair / Vought V - 93S in the world. The description of each model are in Thai and English. The place is nice. The staff are cool. Now, it's more accesible thru BTS skytrain system. Just get off at Royal Thai Airforce Museum Station (N22). And . . . the visit is absolutely - FREE! #RTAF Museum is AWESOME!!! #RoyalThaiAirForceMuseum #InformationOverload #ANiceEncounterWithAircraft #MyKindOfLongWeekend #iLoveThailand

An aviation museum publicly open to visit. Kids enjoy riding on a pilot seat and climbing up various kinds of helicopters and airplanes. There is a good truck selling drinks and also Tao Bin (drink vending machine) in the main building. Toilets are outside and clean. A bit further distance from BTS aviation museum station they have quite some parking lot so if not a festive holiday better drive

Amazing place for the lovers of aviation and people interested in history as well. There are a lot of planes, helicopters, weapons and many other things to see. This museum is not well known by foreign tourists, in fact- it was almost empty, while I was here... So if you wanna experience something new and unknown in Bangkok, it's definitely worth it. You can very easily get there by taking BTS Admission is free!

Very interesting place, second visit and next time will have more time to look around. I took the BTS from Nana Station 47 baht one way and was about 45 minutes. The train was pretty full but once it got to Mo Chit it emptied pretty much and got a seat. The return journey started emptied but as the train approached the city area got pretty full and it was a Friday too.

My second time going today, never gets old. Lots of aircraft you can get up close to, some even let's you sit in the cockpit. On some days, there are VR stations open where you sit in a remodeled cockpit and fly fighter jets. Free entrance. Also met some retired US navy pilots and commercial pilots there.

No entrance fee for this museum, lots of planes to take photos of. There's a small canteen that sell food and drinks. Will take about 2 hour to walk the entire museum. The museum has an indoor and outdoor area to take photographs, to avoid the heat, it is recommended to come visit the outdoor area in the morning and move to the indoor area after that to avoid the sun. There isn't anyone here when we visited.

One of the best Aviation Museums I’ve ever been to. So many planes to see, even helicopters! FREE! It’s a bit far out but worth the trip. Took the BTS there 35mins from Phrom Phong BTS, and walk 5-7mins. The canteen there serves delicious Thai Food, Drinks & Desserts. There’s also a souvenir shop there where we bought too many stuff. Definitely a must-visit if you’re into planes.

It is possible to go inside some of those planes such as the Fairchild C-123B Provider and the Boeing 737-200 (under supervision I believe for this particular one). Other than that you will also see a quite rare Alenia G222, a Fairey Firefly and many more. Great place for parents and kids. There is a small restaurant and a souvenir shop. This is a very low key Aviation museum, with some surprisingly rare aircraft in its collection. Total number of aircraft (including helicopters) on display is probably close to 60-70. Unfortunately it appears as though the museum is not high on the budget priority list of the Thai government and many of the historically important aircraft are sitting outside unprotected, some with open canopies and panels, being rained in! A few aircraft of note are a very rare Curtiss P-36 Hawk and 1 of 180 Grummam F8F-1 Bearcat fighters that the US evidently GAVE to Thailand back in 1951!!! Also 2 examples of Curtis Hawk III biplane fighter and a Consolidated armed observation biplane, both types which were involved in the first recorded air battle between Thailand and the French air force in the fall of 1940.
