Very very very tasty plant-based food options! It was super busy when we were here so had to wait a little before we got our food. However it was absolutely worth the wait! The people working here were also super kind. Also, everything was very good priced. Definitely recommend the hummus and the chickpea quiche! Great place with vegan food 😄

It was my second time visiting El Maida and yet again I was mesmerised. The food looked stunning and tasted even more amazing!! Every flavour seemed to compliment every dish I had ordered without feeling overpowering or dominating. I can highly recommend trying an assortment of different dishes or coming with a group of friends to indulge in the “groepsarrangementen” offered on the menu. Price: I have never eaten anywhere of such high quality with such an affordable price. Truly a gem on all levels. Service: The best there is in Groningen!! While the food speaks for itself, the service deserved all the praise I can put in words. Very warm, welcoming and accommodating. What I also appreciated that I was left to enjoy the food without being disrupted and asked to make further orders etc. The expanded restaurant now offers even more opportunities to find exactly the atonischere you atmosphere that you are searching for. The small terrace creates a very homely vibe. I’m already planning my next visit with eager ambitions to try more of the menu! Thank you to everyone at El Maida for creating, nourishing and growing such a wonderful place!

The egg plant sandwich was a must try! (It would be nice if we get it in brown bread) Excellent service and very friendly staff. Smoothie and fresh orange juice was tasty and refreshing Definitely deserves an extra star for keeping sanitary pads in the women's washroom. This is something I haven't seen before. Such an encouraging feature. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This place is insane! The food is amazing and the desserts are out of this world. We had the falafel and kefta wrap, an Algerian ice coffee and for dessert baklava (the best I’ve had) and Halwa that’s a very interesting dessert but also really good. Definitely will come back

Best breakfast experience I’ve had in Groningen hands down, all the other places should learn a lesson or two from here. Great service too.

Love the decor, the waiters are very polite and friendly and the food is well spiced, fresh and very tasty. Only minus point - the radicchio is extremely bitter, so it ruined the salad and I had to pull it out of my halloumi wrap. Overall- highly recommended and I'll definitely come back.

We had a phenomenal breakfast there today. Has an amazing little garden in the back. Waitresses were very nice and professional, and the prices are way lower than the normal. The menu consists of a big assortment of North African food, including many options for vegans and vegetarians. Highly recommended.

We got the grilled plate, baba ghanouj and beef/lamb meatballs. The mint tea was also fantastic. I was a little turned off by the dirty table, but we will be back for this food.

Moroccan lunch restaurant, sister of the (North African) Mechoui restaurant down the road and Le Souk (Middle Eastern deli). I've picked up delicious sandwiches to go before, this time we sat down and weren't disappointed either!

Simply stated, not authentic and more importantly, not correctly stated in the menu. When you call something "sakshuka", then customers expect the authentic version with poached eggs. You simply can't give scrambled eggs and too very very less in a Sakshuka and call it a family recipe. That's simply cheating customers. And more importantly, for this particular restaurant, don't go by the high Google review star rating; the restaurant fakes it. Otherwise, how can most of the low Google ratings be immediately followed by "less/no comments and a 4-5 star". Lastly, do not be fooled by the food photographs I am sharing. All that looks good does not necessarily tastes good.

If you’re looking for amazing food, extremely friendly service and the most chill atmosphere I definitely recommend El Maïda. The prices are unbelievable for all the yummy food you get!

Liked many aspects of this experience, the restaurant has a lovely ambiance, nice waiters , i liked their mint tea, their kebbeh was super yummy. Their burger was grilled and the sandwich has also halloumi cheese which i liked alot. The only thing i did not like was the bathrooms, too small and not clean .

Service 11/10. Such a great experience and attentive service. The food is superb. I ordered Petit Mashoui + Potatoes. The flavour mix was next level, just as in my home country, but this time it was in the heart of Netherlands. The white sauce over the potatoes was really good. I will definitely come back again. Thanks a lot to the staff and owner of this masterpiece 👏👏🤲

I was excited to try the tajine doebara as it sounded really good on the menu, but was surprised and disappointed at how little flavour there was. It honestly tasted like eating chickpeas straight from a €2 can… The server, however, was lovely and had no problem swapping it for another dish. The magreb chicken sandwich, in contrary to the tajine, was delicious and flavourful with the spicy chicken and fresh, crispy bread. The food was served very soon after we ordered and it was piping hot! They also serve breakfast around lunchtime, so i would assume they do so all day long. My grandmother got the msemmen pancakes which, according to her, were very good, especially paired with the fresh fruit they serve with it. The cappuccino is also really nice, and can be made vegan. El Maïda, in general, has lots of plant-based items on the menu.

Very nice location, algerian decoration very beautiful, the atmosphere is very nice. The food especlially the labna and Tea !!’ the tea tho is so delecious. i ordered it twice. The bread is homemade. The algerian/moroccan guy who served me was very gentle and friendly. although the dutch waitress was not. she was very bad with clients. however, i will visit again for sure !!
