Great old city experience. I've had sadab a few time and on better days such as during ramadan time, I've had better experiences. This was the first time I had a regular dine in experience. Food was good obviously. Therefore it's such a highly acclaimed place. But there were many misses and a few hits therefore a 3 is a fair rating for this experience

I recently had the displeasure of dining at Shadab Hotel, a restaurant that is known for its biryani. I was very disappointed with my experience, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the restaurant was the uncleanliness. The floors were sticky, the tables were dirty, and the chairs were stained. I was also put off by the strong smell of grease in the air. I ordered the biryani, which is the restaurant's specialty. The biryani was served in a clay pot, and it looked very appealing. However, when I tasted it, I was very disappointed. The rice was overcooked and mushy, and the meat was dry and tough. The biryani also lacked flavor, and it was very bland. In addition to the disappointing food, the service at Shadab Hotel was also very poor. The wait staff was inattentive and slow. I had to wait a long time for my food to arrive, and I had to ask several times for refills on my drinks. Overall, I had a very disappointing experience at Shadab Hotel. The food was bland and poorly prepared, the service was poor, and the restaurant was unclean. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Here are some specific things that I disliked about my experience at Shadab Hotel: * The rice in the biryani was overcooked and mushy. * The meat in the biryani was dry and tough. * The biryani lacked flavor and was very bland. * The wait staff was inattentive and slow. * The restaurant was unclean. Went on a weekend evening for dinner. If you are fond of Dum Biryani then this is the place to try. Tried Mutton Biryani which was good. Then tried tandoori roti with paneer butter masala which was okay. Parking is a bit of an issue on the weekend. Service was good considering the crowd.Good place for non veg items.

This restaurant is the diamond off the beaten track and such a special place. Everything I ordered, you could taste each spice and tell that the quality was there. This is not the first time we have come and i couldn’t recommend it enough. It was amazing!

Decent food, that's the one good thing i took from the place. Food review is by my friends as I'm vegetarian. There is significant wait time post 1:30pm make sure you go early. Service is slow, expect atleast 20 min wait time. The table wasn't clean either, they just change the cover and the one on our table was dirty.

It was overcrowded with people when we reached there for lunch. But food was really good. We ordered hyderabad mutton Dum biriyani, chicken goti kabab and coke. Please note, if you are going there, you can choose to sit on the ground floor or on the first floor under A.C. But management and staffs are different for each floor, they are not connected.

If you want real hyderabad I experience of crazy crowds, yummy dum biryani, Irani Chai, you came right place! But don't expect five star restrooms or such here 🤣

Arguably the best biryani I've eaten till date. I can go on to say, one of the best in India! I've driven all the way from Bangalore to taste this biryani and oh boy! I was quite happy. Only issue is parking for cars as the approach roads get too crowded. Plus they accept only Cash payment (no UPI nor card) Best to keep aside 2 hrs n go over here because even to get a table it'll take half hour. U can also visit Charminar from this place. The first floor has better seating arrangements for families but the rates vary from ground floor and 1st floor. Ground floor ambience isn't great. Very reasonably priced and way cheaper than the typical Bangalore hotels.

The vibe was good. You get the old authentic Hyderabad vibes. But the biriyani is overrated. I didn't enjoy the dishes as good as I heard about them. You can go and explore for one time of course.

If you haven't been to Shadaab (madina circle, charminar) - then you haven't ever tried authentic Hyderabadi biryani and all the other famous local cuisines - a 100+ year old restaurant. Only sideback is the long wait time in queue to get a table, thats also coz how famous this hotel is and the rush for a try any time throughout the day (into late nite)

The tastiest mutton biryani we ever had. Must visit place for biryani if you are in old city. Startes were okay. Mutton Paya soup along with pita bread was awesome. They don't have parking space, better to park your vehicle somewhere nearby and walk to this place.

This was recommended by few local peoples as a MUST GO place near by the Charminar. Go for it 😀. Good place for Lunch & dinner with family but has extremely tight seating due to heavy flow of people. Definitely expect at least 30 minutes of waiting time as there is always crowd here. They have 2 sections for seating - AC and without AC. Today I visited Hotel Shadab for lunch. We had mutton biryani, chicken Tandoori. All the food were just perfect and quite a whole lot of portion. perfect amount of spices and the meat was just melting in our mouth. Highly recommended.

Shadab Hotel is the place to be if you are craving for some great Mughlai-Persian food. Order their most loved Hyderabadi biryani in chicken or mutton and you are in for a feast. we spent INR 390 (Remember, the matton biryani can be shared between two people) on biryani.

A local Muslim shop keeper recommended this restaurant. Had their special lassi - very tasty and loaded with nuts, milk sweet and flavours, topped with ice cream! Lots of calories. Of course also tried their biriyani which was very good too. Quantity is huge, too much for one person so better go as a couple at least. Chicken cooked to perfection, good quality rice and all the right flavours. Priced very reasonably. Gets crowded but staff are very prompt.

First The food is just amazing, Nehari Paya, Chicken and Mutton biryani, Naan bun, keema Khichdi(Only in the afternoon), Chicken 65, Grill Chicken and so much more. The quality is so good, the price is very less.. totally worth all the pain to make it here. And to finish with Some awesome sweets and falooda especially Qubani ka meetha, this is a place every foodie must visit if you are in Hyderabad. This place is a little difficult to reach during the peak hours. I would never recommend you drive your car. Best take a taxi or a bike. But when you reach this Old gem. All that effort to make it into the old city will be worth it.

Hotel Shadab is located in old Hyderabad, India near Charminar in Madina Market just opposite to Madina Hotel. It is also a famous hotel in Madina Market. It is very crowded . Took one chicken biryani for home and its taste was not at all good... if i compare Madina hotel biryani with Shadab then ill go with Madina Hotel..i dont know about others..but i did not like the biryani of Shadab.

Shadab an authentic Hyderabadi restaurant. Tried chicken Nihari instead of our favourite mutton Nihari which was not available. Service is good with A/C hall available on the first floor. Starters were cooked delicious with authentic spices, chicken 65, mutton fry tasted really good. Very busy restaurant as people visit here again and again with family & friends. Staff speak mostly in Hindi, understandable to our needs. Food served warm in a quick time. Recommend for all type of people to try authentic Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, we where bit disappointed with the taste. Have got a good collection of old items with a huge clock in the entrance. Deserts are must try falooda and Qubani ka meetha.

Shadab opens after 12 in the afternoon. We reached there exactly at 12 and had to wait for 30 minutes more before placing our orders. It was irritating at first, but within those 30 minutes the hotel was full. So it's wise to go there at 12 and wait. Otherwise you won't get the seat and will have to wait longer. We ordered the famous chicken dum biryani. And it didn't disappoint. The flavours were simple and good. They gave us a big chicken piece rather than multiple small pieces. It also needs to be mentioned that the biryani was served piping hot. It was freshly cooked and one could taste it. Sadly, they didn't have a lot of curries or kebabs at that time of the day. Most of the items in the menu are available in the evening. So choose your time of visit accordingly. For dessert, we ordered khubani ka meetha. Let's just say It wasn't for us. The dessert is made of sweetened apricots topped with malai. It's a popular hyderabadi dessert. The service was fast. The staff is busy handling the crowd. You won't get the time and attention you might expect. Some staff members are not even interested in talking to you properly. You quickly place the order and that's it.

Only AC dining is good rest, dont even try. Good place good biriyani good taste. Try for sure. Maintaining is good. Some employees are little rude. Ambience is not good. Its a 3 story building. "Taste not as expected". Even though it is one of the oldest hotels in the city, there is no improvement in the service and ambience. I went for the first time based on the spread over social media, but not had a good experience. Waiting time is minimum 30-60mins for AC and for Non AC around 30mins. No billing system, Only pay what the server says and only cash is accepted by server. And I noticed many people leaving food due to improper taste and cooking. "I recommend visiting other hotels".

It is always crowded at Hotel Shadab. On a weekday, I had to wait half an hour for a table, but it was well worth it. My favorite dishes are the Tangdi kabab, the Mutton biriyani, and the Qubani ka meetha. Staff members are polite and the food is delicious.

It's a very good destination for Biriyani and Kebabs. Food quality is really good. It's delicious. Tried chicken Dum biriyani. One handi is sufficient for two people. Services are really good. You will get Kulfi Faluda and other items also. You have to wait for 10 minutes. Sitting arrangements are there.

This place serves one of the best biriyani. But i feel the taste of biriyani was slight off that day. Chicken was tender but that was bland and i couldn't feel that marination and aroma. I will highly suggest to try chicken65 and roomali roti. You have to be very specific while picking kebabs from the menu. Service can ve improved more and they should maintain more hygenic table cloth every time. Parking may be an issue so park properly.

I went for a dinner.The place was too crowdy.After going there we need to wait for half an hour and after that we get seat and we need to order and we should wait for twenty minutes.Hardly we got parking.The place was neat and while eating also they spread a cloth on our table.We ordered cooldrinks, haleem, paya soup along with bun, chicken tadka along with that some other thing related to it and rumali roti.The haleem was really good and paya soup was okay,bun was little hard to bite.Chicken tadka was juicy.Rumali roti was okay.At last cooldrinks. One of the iconic restaurant in Hyderabad. Love the food, love the biryani. I first visited in 2015 and even after 8 years the biryani is top notch. The place mostly remains crowded, so might have to wait a while to find a table. The restaurant staff are quite friendly too, as they make first cum first serve entry for table bookings.

Still an OG place where you need to give your name and wait for 10-30 mins in the peak time! The all time best is the mutton biryani and chicken dum biryani make sure to ask for double masala for added flavour You can try the starter Changezi kebab(3.5*) with mayonise, the roti are readily available all the time immediately but the rest will take some time! Nothing can be more pathetic experience than dining eating here. Had a dinner on 25-01-2021. Here is the list of experience: 1. Extremely dirty and worn out seating. Furniture is stinking and full with stains. 2. Glasses given was having food leftovers. 3. Extremely unhigenic 4. Such a poor service that no one is bothered to serve water. 5. Asked for salan and water 4 time, but no one bothered to respond. 6. Chicken biryani was nothing but rice and chicken. So bald 7. All in all an despicable service with unhigenic environment.

Visited this place for the first time. The Biryani we get here is worth all the hype, but I won't call it the best. Hotel Shadab being located in the old city gives you some old school vibes. The ambiance is clumsy and it's kind of adjusted in a small place. The food is very good, though there's just one option in the sweets section - Qubani Ka Meetha. Surely good for a visit.

1st of all there is no queue management so it is very difficult to understand as to when u will get a seat. The portion is very less on each item n price as compared to other best restaurant it is very high. Coming to taste it is average. And most irritating is you have to stand in front of the people who are eating for your number to come.

This is one of the over rated place for Biriyani. There is no place for parking. This is quite a congested place. You have to wait for an average of 30 minutes just to get the seat. Once you get the seat the delivery is quite fast. On the first floor they have air conditioning and proper table and chair for dinning. But on the ground floor it is non-a/c. When you get upstair you have to register your name with the waiter to get a table in que. After this long wait you will be a bit disappointed. Hyderabadi Biriany is not as testy as the same items in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi mutton/ chicken biriyani is much better. This is also true for dessert items. These are much better in star hotel, Dhaka.

This place has some nice biryani and other foods. Not for my delicate tastebuds but our gang of 16 loved it. Their toilet was wet but okay to use. The service was good too but we had to wait a long time before the food was finally served at our tables. We ended it with a sweet and some chai. There is a lovely aquarium there which the kids enjoyed watching. The place was pretty stuffy last night as there were too many customers and one of the air conditioners wasn't working properly. Otherwise we ended our food tour with our tummies full!

Had Shadab Biryani after a years, found some difference between that time and this time. Taste was not good, we have taken water bottle but that also was filled with local water. When we asked about the water difference they replied that it reported one month back water supplier but still no ans. My question was if you know water is not good then how can you give same water to customers. But no difference as they don't care now they have big name. Services was good. Seating arrangement not different as seem 5-6 year back. Kabab was okay but not as Expected. Famous for biryani since years so you can try once if you are in Hyderabad. No parking near by so batter to go with cab or auto. Location is near to Charminar

Was on office visit from Delhi went there for lunch. 1) Filthy place- Plates have oil from previous order. 2) Taste- BELOW Average - I love biryani and even Biryani by Kilo or Biryani Blues severs better than this over hyped place. 3) They will force you to pay in cash. The waiter will behave like goon and yes being from Lucknow i got offended by his language. 4) No feedback policy/Toilets and washbasin is worst than public Sulabh Toilets Overall one of my worst experiences ever. Will not recommend to anyone.

AC dining tables, good Waiters brother,clean and clear, but 2 star for Washroom, washroom is not good there.. Food is awesome Chicken HYDRABADI dum Biryani is delicious but Costly. Some food and tea too costly, so, when yu go There having a budget for Common man/Family... Overall good experience.. Mutton is also awesome

Thinking that this is the same Shadab in SR Nagar I tried biriyani here. Chicken is not fresh and the taste is not that great. The attitude of the waiters is worst and they don't respect the customers. No Card payment or UPI payment accepted, it's only cash.

I am a foodie, I came to Hyderabad for a week and this was a must visit place and enjoyed my experience here. To be honest more than the Mutton Biryani, I liked the Mutton Gravy and Rumali Roti combination more. It is definitely a must try.

Classic/vintage vibes dinning, firstly, it takes time to get place at peak time, and to place order is another big deal. Food (special mutton biryani) was okay,like if you are near to the place you can visit it, not worth of traveling from some place for it.

Best place to have mutton biriyani. Nice flavour and test, helpful employees. Everyone should try this once. Moreover it's economical and value for money. Ambience is not that good for a romantic hang out, but if you are a foodie you can definitely try.

Worst place for dine in. Biryani taste is not good as the people talk about it. Guys be careful with the waiters they don’t provide bill and charge you extra be cautious and ask them cost for every item and then pay the money

As everyone has a checklist to eat Hbds famous Biryani, so did I. My actual plans were to eat at one of the famous restaurants ‘Paradise’ however as per a local friends suggestion tried the Biryani at Shadab & undoubtedly it was the best. Talking about the ambience its like one of those old style restaurants who have not spent much on looks but have made sure they deliver the best Biryani in town. If you are going with family then they have separate area to sit.

I had Paya and biryani... Paya was ok.. however Biryani was nice and tasty.. about service they treat us like local people which I didn't like personally..

Had visited this place based on online reviews but highly disappointed Biriyani was dry and non Juicy. Paya was okay Ambience and Atmosphere was such you wouldn't want to spend more than 10 minutes in the place. Tissue Bones were lying around on the table. Would never recommend this place in Hyderabad.

It is a very busy place with a lot of waiting time. One should wait at least half an hour during weekdays and it varies depending on holiday season. But taste was good and worth visiting once in a lifetime.

The tastiest mutton biryani we ever had. Must visit place for biryani if you are in old city. Startes were okay. We try chicken tikka n chicken leg . They don't have parking space, better to park your vehicle somewhere nearby and walk to this place.

Having the Shadab special biryani was on my bucket list since a long time ago..but it was quite a let down. Have had much better biryanis compared to this. The waiting time was nearly 30 mins. The portions are quite huge ..one plate is sufficient for 3 medium eaters.

Massive issue. Found a complimentary roasted cockroach in the chicken tangri kabab at hotel Shadab. We got the reference from Dubai stating it’s a place to eat if visiting Hyderabad. Of course it’s a place to visit to experience the cockroaches in the dish. However considering the crowd on the floor during lunch time, we didn’t create a issue but informed the table waited and the cash counter of the same. Crowded but good food if you want to eat something authentic. I had Mutton biryani and it was really good. The hygiene standards are not that great and the place is ALWAYS full. But the food is good, filling and cost effective and hence the five stars.

Old city vibes and good restraunt. Mutton biryani is good here . Restraunt has old ambience . Can visit with family and friends.

All the foods were good the chicken biryani was so tender and delicious. In my opinion they must add 1/2 plate biryani in their menu because it's too much for single person to eat 1 plate of biryani
