This is one of the oldest and one of the most prestigious auditoriums in Hyderabad known for conducting various cultural programs. As the auditorium is very old, some of the chairs especially at the back need some renovation. But the lighting and sound effects give you such a feeling that you get immersed into the programs you see.

Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium Ravindra Bharathi, once the heart of cultural and artistic excellence, has stood as a symbol of Hyderabad’s rich heritage. It was a prestigious venue that hosted classical concerts, literary events, and drama performances, making it a cornerstone of the city's cultural identity. Today, the auditorium has largely transformed into a preferred venue for pre-primary school annual day celebrations. While this ensures continued utility, it also reflects a shift from its golden era of cultural prominence. The facilities remain satisfactory, with decent acoustics and infrastructure, but the seating remains unchanged from its historic past. The outdated seats, though a nostalgic reminder of its legacy, require urgent replacement to enhance comfort and aesthetics. A comprehensive renovation and modernization of the auditorium would help restore its lost charm while making it more suitable for contemporary events. Upgrading the interiors, seating, and technology will not only elevate the experience for audiences but also attract high-quality cultural performances once again. I urge the concerned authorities to consider an upgrade, blending its legacy with modern-day requirements, to revive Ravindra Bharathi as a premier cultural hub of Hyderabad.

Parking: Ample free parking for 4 wheelers inside the compound. I found the seats of the auditorium to be little old. Washrooms would have been a little cleaner. European water closet flush handle was not working properly. Urinals were ample and had 2 Indian and 1 European toilets. 2 wash basins were present as well.

Was here for Dr Nishika’s Arengetram. Old place but well organised. The parking can improve and if the doors have numbers on it, it can be helpful. The stage, lighting was apt

If you are the person who wants to absorb in old fashioned music, or likes to watch Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam performances. If you like language & culture specific events then you should go here. Randomly you can visit, you will find some or other event worth seeing happen here. Since its historical auditorium in Hyderabad, Chairs and other stuff is bit congestive but overall it's fine

Ravindra Bharathi is far more than a performance hall — it’s a cultural time capsule of Hyderabad. Established in 1961 to commemorate the birth centenary of Rabindranath Tagore, this landmark embodies decades of artistic and literary heritage. As you step inside its compound, the calm, green surroundings offer a dignified prelude to the grand façade of the main auditorium. There’s a sense of history and pride in every corner, from the broad entry steps to the intricately maintained structures that whisper stories of countless performances over the years. Parking is well organized, making it convenient even during large events. Within its premises, Ravindra Bharathi surprises visitors with curated exhibits that reflect the passage of time. Just past the foyer, you’ll find beautifully preserved vintage film projectors — a nostalgic nod to the golden era of cinema — displayed against walls lined with classic movie posters. Adding further to its cultural aura is a striking bust sculpture of Tagore himself, inviting reflection on the values of art and literature he inspired. In a quiet corner, ancient tree trunks and prehistoric fossil displays provide a unique natural history touch, blending art, history, and science under one roof. Inside the theatre, the ambience is elegant and immersive. The acoustics remain one of its finest features, creating a truly resonant experience for music, drama, and classical performances. Clear booking guidelines and disciplined event management (displayed on-site) maintain the venue’s legacy of structured organization. Visiting Ravindra Bharathi isn’t just attending an event — it’s experiencing Hyderabad’s cultural journey through time, in a space that honors both creativity and history.

Certainly a nice place to have cultural programmes. It has both large auditorium & small auditorium at centre of the city. Now, close to metro station.

This is an iconic place in Hyderabad. It is a great venue for culture and art. Once it used to be highly prestigious and highly regarded center for arts and culture and truly lived up to Rabindranath Tagore. Lately it is not maintained well. Seats or not is a great shape. People flock at the front of the stage to take pictures and videos blocking the stage for audience. Sadly there are no systems and controls! Reputation will go down further if it continues like this.

Easy to locate. Plenty of Paid Parking. They charge Rs.50/- for parking. The seating inside is very old and uncomfortable. It’s a decent place for small programs.
