Usually Crowded.... Definitely not a place for Fast Shopping! Virtually everything is here!. Very Dirty when it rains. The Gutters/drainage system is clogged thereby dirty water fills the road when it rains.

I really love getting my stuffs from eke awka market, stuffs like clothes, shoes, food stuffs. There is a place around dike junction that you can also fix your malfunctioning computers or buy computer and phone accessories, visit eke awka if you are around south east.

It a small daily market, but you will find almost all house use items here. Food stuffs are affordable especially on Eke market days when you buy from directly from natives.

Eke Awka Main Market, Awka. Appears to be a big market where alot of good and beautiful things are sold just like any other market in Nigeria and just like most markets in Nigeria the work space seem to be narrow. The market lines are named after some countries of the world such as; America and Jerusalem etc. The two Eke awka market lines i found interesting is the America line and Jerusalem line, the traders here seem nice and polite. I enjoyed visiting this lines. You would find a good number of pharmacies in this market. I didn't see a packing space for this market, the market is always busy and tight too.

Cool but busy with cars and people trying to buy or sale. You can buy clothing, vegetables, food stuffs, provisions, electronic, ingredients, food stuff, cooked food, frozen chicken, etc. It has everything a reputable open market should have. They are sold at cheaper rates- some items are sold as cheap N10.

Eke Awka has relatively anything one wants to buy. It's located at the heart of town and things are not that costly

Very busy and confusing. If that's your first time in the market it will be difficult to find your way around. Oh, and be careful with your belongings so they don't go missing.

  • 4/5 Ezekiel I. 2 years ago on Google
A bustling hive of activities. Market is a major landmark in Awka of both commercial and historical relevance. However, traffic is very hindered with a narrow, overburdened and awkward road system that urgently needs government attention.

  • 3/5 Favour B. 2 years ago on Google
A whole lot of people,a lot to f human traffic. People actually place their goods on the main road,so other road users have to struggle with whatever space is left. The place is always too crowded. Then there's the wheelbarrow, that's another thing I had to battle with, there's a lot of it in the market so you may likely get hit by it if you're not too careful. A lot of fellow Igbo people taking advantage on each other everyone is open go cheating another and it's normal for them. There seems to be some level of monopoly in the market.

  • 5/5 Francis M. 2 years ago on Google
I didn't hate the place, the is good and great 👍

For a main market with a road, the road is too narrow, there are a lot you can get at the market but a huge part of it is not well arranged. Items are even arranged in a way it disturbs good traffic flow

  • 3/5 HopEmma U. 2 years ago on Google
They try to have little of everything St a price a little bit above normal

  • 3/5 Rossy G. 2 years ago on Google
Busy as always, ...traffic both for motorist and pedestrian... But everything you want is here and affordable

  • 5/5 Maureen R. 2 years ago on Google
Sometimes prices are moderate, other times high. Most times what you wanna buy isn’t available in the market. You will have to go to main market Onitsha. The most terrible traffic site and no parking lot. You must park meters away and trek down to buy or go with local transport but the traffic is really terribly exhausting ☹️☹️☹️

Eke Awka Main Market is the biggest market in Awka. The items sold in the market range from food stuff, stationary, clothing materials and clothes, electronics and so many other household items. The market is located at the heart of the city and is accessible from various roads. However, it does not have wide roads network within the market and it's drainage system is very poor. The market needs serious planning and improvement to upgrade it to a modern market.

Eke awka is a market in awka, capital of Anambra state. It's a market that has many people from villages comijg together to sell off their goods. Here you can buy things cheaper than other places.

  • 3/5 Arinze N. 2 years ago on Google
It's a market for food stuffs, provisions, kitchen wares, house hold items etc It has stalls and locked up shops which are rented out to people. The market has major dealer/distributors for few companies. Prices of food items, meat, vegetables are moderate and affordable. The market is not properly structured as the roads are so narrow causing traffic for people on foot. Wheel barrow pushers and table top retailers are major cause of traffic in the market. The market does not have parking spaces for shoppers. The best place to park is at Saint Mary's Anglican Chruch close to the market. Parking here is secure and cost #100 per entry and exit.

Free entry and free exit. This is a primary example of a perfect market, Free competition, clean business friendly environment, to conduct business. Above all you always buy and sell that's commerce, trade and aids to trade. Long live Eke Awka, long live the Chairman. Hon. Ambassador Emeka Jude Agummadu. (Baby Awka).

Eke Awka is very busy this Saturday, there is a little traffic but it is moving. There was a little rain in the morning but right now the weather is sunny and the atmosphere is hot.

  • 5/5 sapphire w. 3 years ago on Google
Has things you need. It's a little tight though. But it's a market anyway. Their things are quite affordable.

  • 3/5 Chukwudi I. 3 years ago on Google
A lot of rowdiness, with petty traders almost taken up the road which causes a lot of vehicular traffic. The drainage channels have been blocked by wares and wastes from market women. The place requires adequate organization and planning.

My mom owns a shop there,so since I'm managing the business as much as possible,I'm mostly there, therefore, all I'll say is today was busy, and the market was all muddy, practically washed my legs twice inside the market and once again before going home. But then, it's really a nice place for business,as it's the,as it's called,Main Market

  • 3/5 Destiny A. 3 years ago on Google
Covid-19 protocols are not enforced here. Pls you are advised to maintain personal precautions. When it rains, the market is also messed up because there are no proper drainages constructed in the market. Furthermore, there are no public conveniences in this market. Wahala!!!

Eke Awka is way beyond what visitors see. You have to really go into the market to get good prices but if you're new to Awka best to have chaperone cos it's easy to get lost.
