It does not look like a place that has been renovated as the government claims. It's a bit rowdy with some dysfunctional equipment, incompetent staff who are more interested in tips and bribes than their actual jobs. They are not even ashamed of the begging in the first place. As for the departure lounge, it's no different from bus park with inferior rickety seats. It does not look like an international airport in anyway, not even a good domestic airport.

The Akanu Ibiam International Airport is an international airport and the only one in South East Nigeria. The other local airport in the region is in Owerri. This airport was about the worst airport in the country due to its terrible runways. The Federal government shut the airport down since late 2019 but it's once more operational. If you are traveling via this airport, beware of airport security and immigration officer. They are practically beggars and will exploit any opportunity to extort you. Operations are barely standard and you must have to arrive early even though the flights are likely to be delayed. Note that if you must plan to travel via Enugu, ensure that you arrive early because the airport's doesn't function at night and you don't want to get stranded. I hope this changes after the renovations. I have used this airport severally each experience has not been as satisfying. Unfortunately there aren't many alternatives.

My first visit to Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu was on a school practicum held on the 4th of November 2021. It is for international and local flight. Currently, the Ethiopian Airline is the only international airline available. The Terminal building consists of: 1) International Departure 2) International Arrival 3) Local Departure 4) Local Arrival Port Health Services is rendered as they strictly observe the COVID 19 protocols and other medical precautions as regards seeking the safety of the public health wise.

This is one of Nigeria's major airport. The airport is wonderful and customer friendly. It receives a huge number of passengers (it is situated within a business hub/region of Nigeria) flying to different Nigerian cities as well as outside Nigeria. It is hoped that in time more international flights (and airlines) are routed through this airport. And finally a shout out to Air Peace. I enjoyed my flight while aboard one of your airlines.

Was okay, very small. There's ATM there and it also prints out mints notes. There's a book stand (personally, I love places with book stands) gift shops, tuck shops, jewelry store, restroom, parking lot etc. Basically things an airport should have. Couldn't take pictures as there were people everywhere, I don't feel it's appropriate to upload pictures with other people's faces online.

In order to fully utilize the airport as a potential revenue earner for both governmemt and private businesses, certain facilities ought to be installed in the airport. Essential navigational aides should be installed. Currently, certification process for the airport is on-going, however, is one thing is special about the airport. Government should try and construct a PARALLEL RUNWAY to avoid the usual 'backtracking' of aircrafts at Runway Thresholds during take-off Runs.

Simple and small airport. Suitable for international connecting flights and quite nice for domestic flights. Easy navigation and accurate labels within the airport, with always someone to help you through when you need help. Moderate packing space but with enough bush around it though, hopefully for extension.

The airport has been under repairs for quite a while. This needs to be hastened up, so the ambience of the airport can improve. The facilities need to be greatly improved to be at par with other airports in the world.

I flew in from Lagos and I must say, the airport was quite crowded and seemingly disorganized when I got there. This was because everyone was trying to get their luggage at the same time and it just seemed like a really small place. The toilet was neat though and the staff was friendly. There was also an ATM right in the airport which was actually very wonderful. There were also cabs and taxi services right there A problem? There was no chair or comfortable waiting area. The gate isn't too far from the airport itself, it's a trekkable distance. Even the military men there were quite friendly and one of them even helped me stop a vehicle to take me because he saw the way I was struggling with my luggage 😂 So yh, not a bad experience overall but I think a waiting area is important in an airport, in the very least.

The Airport is fine, but the car park is very small for an international Airport. I am there now and vehicles are looking for where to park. Their restaurant is far from the airport.

It's right on the road, hard to miss, just after Air Force Base Enugu. Local & Int'l flights right on. Enough parking (but you'll have to pay at the toll-gate first). Thank God Enugu has one of these. We pray it gets better. ✌🏾🙏🏾👌🏾

Better than the average. Would be much better if the staff weren't so into disobeying their own laws. Helping people willing to drop cash, jump queues and also hassling customers for cash. Good facilities however

Decent airport. Neat environs, efficient staffers. Hardly any delays. Do note they have a entry toll gate for drivers so drivers get to pay a little sumem for an entrance fee. They also have a police station right next to the entrance, so airport's probably quite secure.

Security measures have been tightened, neat environment and great composure from the luggage carriers. Also the van sections have this organized way of making sure everyone gets a passenger. Most importantly, there's prompt response from airport staff and neatness of the airport space is paramount.. well-done.

Great place, the facilities are ok but it has to be maintained to avoid deteriorating.

They really need to upgrade this airport to get to Lagos and Abuja standard, also the begging is much. Even down to airline staff.

I think it requires security upgrades. There seem to be a complacent attitude towards proper baggage search by the current team. It is abysmal and a shame. A couple of the airport's employees practically and callously beg for tips! Come on. Who are we kidding? It's a public airport which requires the efforts of a whole State to keep its standards. I must say, I am gravely disappointed. Infrastructure wise though, I'll give it a C+. At least it's better than Owerri Airport.

I had a good reception, a smooth flight with Airpeace too. I planned to book a ride using Bolt from the airport, but was disappointed when informed that they are not allowed into the airport. There are taxi drivers inside the airport and seems they pay extra to be there. They are more expensive but you will get to your destination.

Enugu International Airport was shut down for close to a year to enable the authorities carry out much needed facelift. I don't think that they have been in a hurry to do so. The environment looked as old and decrepit as I landed on the 27th from Lagos. I am not very impressed and I should think that they should be more serious with the work.
