Mulamkuzhy ecotourism is 14km away from Nedumbassery airport. Mulamkuzhy ecotourism is situated on the banks of Periyar. This region is under Kerala Forest Department. Better place for relaxation. The beauty behind this place is flow of Periyar and thick forest. There are some guides to assist. Entry in to the river is not advisable , because some area in this river having dangerous strong underflow . Ticket rate is 20Rs for Adult,10Rs for children, Rs.10 for Two wheeler parking, Rs.25 for four wheeler parking. Keep this place litter free because it affects the wild life. This place is favorite shooting location of film industry.

Started my journey from aluva...took Malayatoor route and reached this location in about 45 minutes...there is a parking lot available...and the tickets cost Rs 20 per person...and to reach this river side one have to walk about 10 minutes...and the walkway is great with glib scenery of greenery...also one have to pass through mahagony forest before reaching this location...there are swings for children at the location.. there will be some staff at location..they will ask for ticket and also enquire whether you are taking a bath in river and inform us about dangers in bathing in river...there is a refresh room to change clothes.. The river side itself is a splendid view...apart from this you can find the cleanliness of place very much appealing to spend there a little more time... To my conclusion...this is a must visit location for one day tours...and beware of high current of river...👍👍

This really a good place to spend with family or friends for half a day. We have forest walks, lot of trees and good photo shoot places. Have fun as you wish. After the walk we will reach the periyar river side(Illithodu). It is safe, only shallow water. 2 to 3 feet only. So you can have fun with younger siblings as well. Rocks are not that slippery. Entry is upto 4.30pm only. Anyway once we got entry we can stay upto 6 😉. See the sunset and come back. Parking lot is there. You can bring your own vehicle. Or public bus is available, from Kalady and Angamaly. Entry fee 50/person, 30 parking fee for car. Don't expect hotels nearby. Small shops with snacks and tea are there.

Go there if you have nothing else do or you want a small swim in water. We were looking for a place to bath in nature. The place is good if you love nature and see trees or want to bath in nature.. Or else it is a waste of time...

Nice place.. But the kudumbasree hotel which was the only hotel in that area has been destroyed by elephants... so if you go their take some food to eat (kindly avoid littering to save the beautiful nature to explore for others also)

An awesome place to spend with nature. Its safe and not so deep. Be careful of the hidden rocks. The officials have cordoned off the risky places. You can see various types of butterflies. Earlier there was a restaurant which used to serve delicious food. But elephants ravaged the place twice. But if you check at the ticket counter, they will give you the phone number and can order food. A place to unwind ...!!

Mulankuzhy is a small forest village located very much near to the banks of River Periyar on the district of Ernakulam.Mulankuzhy is located at a distance of about 34 km from Cochin international Airport.Nearest towns are Perumbavoor at a distance 18km and Kalady at a distance of 12km. The major attraction in Mulankuzhy is the mahagony Thottam itself.Its a small plantation or gardern where full grown naturally mahagony trees are there.The place is enriched with lush and greenery.Time to spend here as a Nature aspirant is never a time wasted.The ticket rate is a Little bit expensive which is rupees 50 for one person.rupeees 10 is charged for school and college students. There is a forest road from there which connects to Bhoothathankettu near to Kothamangalam which is now closed due to Certain security reasons. Best place we could spend some time in greenery of forest.

Now the roads are not perfect but you get an off road drive inside the forest. There is some entry fee and videography is restricted. There is a parking area and you have to pay for you vehicle.
