The service at the front desk is outrageous even for East German standards. The lady at the front desk was ignoring us while chatting with a friend. She didn't explain anything and was extremely rude. We booked a room with two beds and got a queen size bed. She didn't inform us about breakfast time or anything at all. Rooms are clean but outworn and dated. We will definitely not come back! The spa is clean with a spacious outside area. Nice sauna. Pool is small and dated. Great massage therapist. Location is great!

My friend and I went for a relaxing massage but we came back extremely frustrated with the poor service by the staff spa. We paid for 60 min massage but what we received were: - massage for 45 min - It's not called a massage when they only lather lotion on you - absolutely no music during massage - my friend and I received different set of services - both bad. - no guidance throughout the massage as to what she was doing - requested to massage a bit more strongly and not only lather lotion, was answered with "No". We wasted 120€ for nothing but only our beautiful weekend. I do not recommend this place, never coming back.

A friend of mine had called to make a reservation for a single night in a double room. The person ho attended us told us they have no reservation on our name. He told us his colleague made a mistake and even got angry and threatened to call the authorities if we insisted. My friend was only asking if they could resolve it so we have a place to stay at. Akwardly rude.

Was kann es besseres geben als ein schönes, rundum sehr gelungenes Familienfest mit sehr zufrieden Gästen. Vielen Dank dem gesamten Personal dieses Hotels !!! Alle haben dazu beigetragen, dass wir ein sehr schönes erweitertes Wochenende bei Ihnen verbringen konnten. Sehr gute und saubere Zimmer, Spitzen Küche, sehr aufmerksames und freundliches!!! Personal, sehr schöne und saubere Außenanlagen und und und…, ( das Wasser im Pool war für mich etwas zu kühl) Bei einer kleinen Panne wurde sofort reagiert und großzügig entschuldigt. Auch das ist nicht überall selbstverständlich. Dafür auch ein Danke von uns! Das es unseren Gästen auch sehr gut gefallen hat, zeigt sich darin, dass eine Folgebuchung erfolgte. Nicely situated outside town in the forest, good restaurant, excellent spa and swimming pool

Had a wonderful Meal in the Restraunt. It is located in a very beautful location. My problem is the Bar was closed and they close the workout room at 10PM because you are not allowed to workout alone. This hotel is nice for a weekend away but I travel to Ilmenau 5 to 6 times a year and this hotel is not a good place to stay for business. I was looking forward to staying in this hotel for a few weeks. I will stay in town on my future visits.

Alles Tip Top vom Zimmer über das Personal Die ganze Anlage inkl Spa ist wirklich top. Das Essen, auch das Buffet, sowie die Weine . Ein Gedicht! Einziges Manko bei meinem Besuch aber das ist jammern auf höchstem Niveau das Leitungswasser war ein wenig chlorig ..,

Wir haben einen kurzen Abstecher während unserer Wanderung auf den Kickelhahn zum BERG & SPA HOTEL Gabelbach unternommen um uns über das Haus zu informieren. Wir sind an der Rezeption sehr freundlich empfangen worden und erhielten auch alle Infos die wir brauchten. Da wir Kaffeedurst hatten war es auch kein Problem für das Personal uns auf der Terrasse des Hauses einen guten Kaffee zu servieren. Ich bin mir sicher hier auch ein paar Tage Urlaub zu machen.

Ich war beeindruckt. Für mich gibt es mindestens 5 Sterne für SPA, Essen, Personal und Zimmer. Vielen Dank für die angenehme Zeit. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und kann dieses Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Sehr schönes Hotel mitten im Wald mit einem fantastischen Spa-Bereich und guter Thüringer Küche. Von hier gibt es auch schöne Ausflugsziele zum Wandern. Einziges Manko (schon seit Jahren) ist das WLAN, wer hier ist macht quasi gezwungenermaßen auch ein Internet-Detox. Das ist leider heute nicht mehr ganz zeitgemäß, schmälert den Gesamteindruck aber nicht so sehr, dass ich nicht gern immer wieder hier her kommen würde.

Tolles Hotel in toller Lage- jeden Stern wert.Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, das Menü wurde selbstverständlich in eine leckere vegane Form umgewandelt, am Frühstücks- und Abendbuffet war auch immer etwas dabei. Die Zimmer sind sauber und leise, alles ist sehr gepflegt Gerne wieder!

Die Gegend ist toll. Ruhig gelegen ohne Ablenkungen. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber in Ordnung. Sauberkeit ist top! Punktabzug gibt's für die Bademäntel. Die sind nur in 1 Größe vorhanden! Wer etwas größer braucht, bekommt einen ollen Frotteemantel aus dem Spa - Bereich. Das ist alles andere als guter Service. Das Essen auf der Wochenkarte ist sehr ausgefallen und die Auswahl ist super klein. Bin dann in ein Restaurant in Ilmenau gefahren. Alles in allem - teurer Spaß für 120€/Nacht. Komme leider nicht wieder!

Great hotel with great location! Located inside the forest about 2km from Ilmenau. Good breakfast. Wellness available in house. The view is great!

Sehr ruhig gelegen, weit und breit keine störenden Einflüsse. Allerdings auch sehr schlechter Handyempfang. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut ausgestattet und sauber. Der Service ist freundlich und sehr nett. Das Essen der Hammer. Wahnsinnig guter Service und spitzen Gerichte. Absolut super. Der Spa Bereich ist für Sauna Liebhaber sehr umfangreich, nur das Schwimmbad könnte etwas wärmer sein. Da wir im Schnitt 10 Minuten brauchten um ganz ins Wasser zu kommen war die Wassertemperatur wohl doch deutlich unter 20 Grad.

Excellent historic location to visit during your Thuringian Forest trip. We enjoyed the food (especially wild pork) and beer very much!

Top SPA ...TOP HOTEL ...TOP ESSEN ...TOP SERVICE

Horrible service, the restaurant was terrible. The waiter was very rude and impolite and treated everyone in our table horribly, especially the ones that didn't speak German

The location is great, it's surrounded by woods. It's nice to walk around or hike a bit, especially with your dogs. However, don't try to take your dog inside the restaurant! It's not allowed. Both, the hotel and the restaurant used to be dog friendly, but not anymore. It's one thing for the hotel, definitely not nice, but a lot of hotels don't let you stay with your dog - it's like "whatever" for me. But the restaurant? To be honest, it's the ONLY restaurant that I know of in Germany, where I cannot take my dog inside to dine! I travel a lot with my dog all over Europe and I have NEVER been denied to enter a restaurant with her anywhere. Fyi my dog is 4kg, she doesn't shed (so no risk for allergic people) and when I take her inside a building she is in her bag (and stays there), in which I am even allowed to take her on a plane with me as a "pet in cabin". So, a "dogs not allowed inside" sign is extremely disappointing, especially for a restaurant in this location. Since my dog is not welcome there I won't visit the restaurant either.
