If you're interested in touring Bologna and getting a very thorough and informative look at the city's past, then Bologna Welcome is just right for you! The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable of not only the city's history but about the entire country's. A great way to spend an afternoon roaming around the "red city", and learning fun facts you never knew. Exploring Catholic churches, cathedrals, museums and Universities, the things you'll discover may just surprise you. I would highly recommend the tour for those interested in history and exploring the city in a way you wouldn't normally think of doing.

Biggest waste of money. We are on the tour live and can confirm that you will learn more walking and googling than taking this tour. We booked for an English tour and it turned out to be 75% in Italian. The tour guide took us to a church where they spent 40 minutes, while some of the women from the group couldn't enter without being fully covered (there are guards at the entrance who will charge you for a paper cover). We try to get a refund and they refused to compensate us. Save what time you have in Bologna and enjoy the food instead 👍

The staff were helpful and yes you have to take a ticket and wait for your turn but it didn’t take long at all. Highly recommend to do the walking tour, I spent a very informative morning with Roberta who was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable. The tour really helped me to appreciate and understand the history of the city and the culture.

The tour was a horrible experience - I booked a tour in English and ended up in a tour in English and Italian with almost 30 people. We did only a short version of the tour to the historic city center and most of the time was passed whilst waiting for the guides' explanation in Italian. This is not at all appropriate and I really felt screwed up. This tour can't be recommend to anybody and I would suggest that you think about if such economies can help the City to attract visitors.

2 persons to meet you and take a waiting ticket for you without answering your questions and two othes behind desk, of them only one authorised to answer you but only after pushing the button with your number on the screen.. most unefficient office.. wifi locked up.. and all museums and galleries in Bologna are closed Monday.

Very kind staff, in ten minutes I received all the information I was looking for! The wonderfully arranged shop windows give a touch of professionalism that should not be underestimated

The tourist information is excellent. We didn't have to ask. A girl approached us with good English and asked all the right questions. If the film festival is on then go, it's a great experience.

My wife and I enjoyed a great walking tour of Bologna yesterday. The guide was personable , knowledgeable and had great English language skills. The radio with ear piece made for a great addition to the tour, we did not miss a thing despite the busy day in Bologna yesterday. I would highly recommend this tour!

I don’t think Bologna Welcome Card is such a steal as tourist cards in other cities - definitely the Venetian museum pass comes to mind. It is still pretty nice as it includes tours and other bonuses. It’s definitely worth buying online. The merch in the Bologna Welcome point looked nice. You need to collect a ticket to talk to the staff first. It was a bit bizarre as there were no other people except for me waiting.

The most jobsworthy and stupidly run tourist place I have been to! The staff are more interested in their silly numbered ticketing system (which isn't actually clearly explained in foreign languages!) than helping people or allowing you to pay for any merchandise. I walked out the first time after attempting to just pay for a pen. Returned the next day and took a ticket, office EMPTY and yet the jobsworth man behind the desk would not take my payment till my ticket was called! He proceeded to then click through his silly system and surprise surprise I was the next customer!! Just such a silly way to run a tourist office. Chaotic! Lots of tourists not knowing what they are meant to be doing re the ticket system. And also we booked a walking tour through this tourist office and it was tedious, hardly visited anywhere outside of the square where the tourist office is located so hardly covered any of the city plus you could hardly hear the guide using their single earphone audio system! All in all Poor!

Sad as the advisor we saw was less than helpful while others seemed to get excellent customer service. We visited on NYE to enquire what was open and at first all was good, the assistant gave us a map and guide. But when we asked where something was we were told “it’s on the map” the pronunciation of the venue which we were pointed in the direction of might not be easy for English speakers to understand, was not clear on the map and when we asked the advisor to point to the place he simply replied it’s on the map. “Did you say it began with a B?” Yes was his reply, but it never it began with a P. And by the time we’d figured it out it was not worth the journey!

Buying Welcome card took very long time and all the museums and places are not included. Got 2h walking tour and same tour could be walked in 30 min.

Make sure you get your ticket at the machine as soon as u enter to join the 'offical' queue for assistance. Otherwise they have a hissy fit. Not tremendously friendly.

Normal, I should give less than one star but I can't. It's incredible how the person who was there at 29th of November 2022 about 15 pm never heard of palazzo podesta. About palazzo re enzo she didn't know to give me information. My friends, this is Italy, number one touristic destination in the world !!!!! Or not ? People like these should never work in touristic services !!!!

Awesome place in order to get some recommendations and details about the Bologne, attractions and how you can navigate the city. The staff speaks English and they are really helpful, sincere and have a good sense of humor !

I have to say that my experience with three Bologna Welcome staff was excellent. They were fast and friendly, and I didn’t have to wait long to see a clerk. They have two staff waiting to help as you enter. The waking tour was very interesting and it’s great that it is in Italian and English as it gives one time to look around while the other language is being spoken. Keep up the good work 👍🏽

You have to take a ticket to be served and this is done by using the machine on the left as you walk in. Not really explained well as it looks like a touch screen info point where you'd look up the information yourself. However after choosing your language and what your enquiry is about it'll print you a ticket. I'd already purchased the Bologna Welcome card on the website so only came here to start the walking tour. We had a mix of Italian and UK in our group so Elena went through everything twice. I can understand Italian so I didn't mind but can imagine if you only speak English then it's a lot of standing around waiting for the English bits. Tour ran over and it would have been nice to see more of the Archiginnasio. Overall though I enjoyed it and there were things Elena mentioned that weren't in my guide book so I found it very informative.

Italian Office for tourists are usually bad. Bologna Welcome is NO exception. In times of Covid19 it is hard to know if a location, museum, monument et al., were open or closed. And it is more risky to plan a trip just to find yourself before a closed door. Any serious manager would improve the online or phone assistance. But, yes, we are in Italy, no signs of reasonable management. I called four times the service. They cut off the call or shut down after the usual recorded plethora of messaging and "Inno alla gioia" soundtrack. Italy. Tourists: go elsewhere. Maybe a new lockdown would send those no-useful home, fired. I hope for.

The personnel was extremely helpful. They took the time to explain to us what are our options, what is the best choice for us in terms of ticket buying in order to save money and gave us recommendations on what to see and what is the most interesting route to approach it.

😠 Brochure and Welcome Office both indicated this is a “Hop-on, Hop-off” bus, but in reality it’s just a bus that takes you in a loop around the city. The bus only stopped twice, once at the Piazza Maggiore (where we got on), and once at the train station, which coincidentally were also the only 2 act...
