We stayed at this hotel April 2022 booked it based on good reviews. We were disappointed however as the rooms are shabby and dirty it seems to be working on a skeleton staff and customer service was dreadful. They charged you for drinking water (and extra toast at breakfast!) and often our room wasn’t made up until late in the afternoon. The sea grass was an issue so we couldn’t swim in the sea. Breakfast was basic and no choice. The pool is nice and it’s a short taxi ride to placentia village which is worth doing. It’s certainly not a luxury experience.

Came here for drinks, appetizers and obviously the view! Friendly staff and a wonderful location right on the beach makes Robert's Grove Beach Resort a really cool spot to visit. Walked around their property and they have a nice pool right by the ocean as well. Would imagine that the rooms at this place are very nice based on the condition of the rest of the property. Definitely worth doing my for a visit if you're in the area. They even have a little bar out on the pier to sit and have drinks. So nice that they're right on the water and gives lots of great options for you to enjoy

I have been here many times in the past and always bring friends and recommend it. However, the security guard today was on a power trip. I realized I came in the exit, but there weren't any other vehicles coming so I went ahead and parked on a slant just like the SUV next to me. He proceeded to walk all the way across the parking lot to chastise me for coming in the exit. As I was unloading my walker, he came back and said I needed to park the golf cart straight. This was really ignorant on his part, because then I would have taken up 2 parking spaces. I told him I would forgo having lunch there because of his behavior. This didn't seem to bother him. Business is still so slow here that a snotty security guard should not be turning away paying

We stayed here before and after a sailing excursion which departed from a marina across the street. The rooms were air conditioned which was great given the heat. The pools were fabulous and the ocean was steps away. You can borrow paddle boards and bikes for free. The food and drinks were great and the service was also wonderful.

Unfortunately, I did not stay at the resort. However, I was staying in a rental apartment next door. When we first arrived I had a hard time getting my internet connected. I walked next door and the ladies were so lovely that they let me use the wifi in the restaurant. As I was getting in contact with the property owners about my internet I had a lovely ginger mojito sitting on the beach staring at the sea. Since we rented an apartment with a kitchen I only ate at the Robert's Grove restaurant twice. Both times the food is spectacular, the view is breathtaking, the drinks are perfectly made, and the service is top-notch. I hope to stay at the resort sometime because it's perfectly located in the Seine Bite area of the peninsula. Apologies for not rating the accommodations in the review. I can't speak for the resort but if you are in the Seine Bite area I highly recommend the restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch, did not stay at resort. I was the only one in restaurant. Ordered the garden salad. Salad was smothered in white onion. Worst salad I had while 7 days in Placencia, plus I think it was $17 US dollars. The server never came back to table. I had to look for her to get my bill. Only thing nice was the deck had a nice view.

Best place with the best service in the entirety of Placencia!!! Kimberly is one of the senior managers in this resort herself and her team are the most welcoming group I have ever had when booking a hotel in any country. Kim made sure to contact every agency around in order to ensure that i have the best experience in terms of adventure excursions in Belize. The food in the result is excellent the rooms are big and spacious you can easily have a family share one room. Breakfast is always served with the best care and excellent attention to detail - this became a home for me so don't hesitate book this resort and enjoy Placencia in its greatness :) From Shahed

Robert Groves Resort & Marina was sold early in March 2023 & is not open for business. Rumors say new owners plan to convert the property into condo suites & sell them but this is not confirmed. The marina is closed too & it seems the Mexican Restaurant on the property is also closed.

Place has really went downhill. The Boardwalk and decks have loose and numerous rotten boards. The food is horrible compared to years ago. Staff is totally incompetent. No towels at the pool. Went to take a shower no water pressure, front desk said they would get maintenance to turn on pump ( why was it off). One towel in the room front desk gave me a pool towel ( had those in a supply room in the back not at the pool). $400 a night will get you much more at many other resorts in Belize.

We had a wonderful stay! Clean, beautiful, and great service. The perfect tropical get away and easy access to placencia downtown too.

My husband and I got married at Robert’s Grove last weekend and it was nothing short of incredible. First and foremost, the grounds are gorgeous. It is lush, beautiful, and the view of the beach is magical. We hosted about 31 guests at the wedding ceremony and reception, and RG was able to accommodate a wedding of that size easily. The beach ceremony was beyond serene and the BBQ Sun Deck made for a great dining area and dance floor. The staff did a wonderful job setting up to make sure everything was perfect for our special day. They didn’t miss a single detail and were so kind. Coordinating everything with Pauline, the event planner, was a breeze - she is organized, communicative, and a delight to work with. Every picture and description I sent her came to life at the wedding. The flowers were out of this world, the food delicious, and the atmosphere... priceless. Our stay at the resort exceeded expectations as well. The room was immaculate, cool from a solid A/C, and had a large, very nice hot shower to boot. The outdoor space with a hammock is nice, too. Not to mention the yummy continental breakfast that changes day to day. I can’t wait to go back for an anniversary!

Rat infested area. Beach stunk and was inaccessible. Moved to Maya Beach Hotel. No rats!!!

This was our second time staying at Robert's Grove and we plan to be back. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, the beach was relaxing. There is a free shuttle into town, (2.5 miles?) or bike for free. The breakfast was good (fresh fruit, MTO eggs). We found it a good value.

We were welcomed and treated so we'll by all of the staff, especially Erselda! Complimentary drink on arrival and also a full breakfast! Dinner was delicious, too... Late night dip in the pool was refreshing, and the views are amazing! We would stay here again!!

Nice location and clean place. Only issue was water pressure. Multiple times water was not available or pressure was too low to use. Was told it was due to the city having issues.

totally disappointed. high prices, first day no room service/ no cleaning up. Second day the toilet broke and flooded the whole bathroom. We informed them but they repaired it just until the next afternoon after we complained twice. the captain of our boat wasn't able to ask for anything most of the time because he couldn't speak english and ended up getting his food in to go plates. the breakfast included, was always a tiny portion of scrambled eggs, 1 bite of papaya, 1 bite of pineapple and 1-2 of watermelon or orange. Every day varying with a bit of potatoes or 2 mini slices of toasted panitos. today with pancake. no seafood at all on the menu.

Beautiful grounds and beach area. Rooms are nice but the chairs in front of the TV are very uncomfortable. The rooms could use darker drapes to dim out the extremely bright lights glaring in your eyes all night from the string lights around the palm trees. We were not provided any swimming towels. It would be great if they provided at least a couple bottles of drinking water. Other than that, the place was nice.
