AMAZING!
You
do
not
want
to
miss
this
place.
Oldest
running
kosher-style
deli
still
owned
and
operated
by
the
original
family
(started
in
1905)
and
almost
everything
has
stayed
the
same
for
decades.
If
you
want
to
go
back
in
time,
visit
Shapiro's
in
Indy,
just
check
out
the
pictures
of
the
"cafeteria".
As
an
important
data
point,
I
grew
up
in
New
Jersey
eating
at
delis
like
this
this
was
so
incredibly
nostalgic
I
was
just
smiling
the
whole
time
I
was
there
and
did
not
want
to
leave.
I
had
so
much
fun
from
the
moment
I
walked
into
Shapiro's.
You
come
upon
the
bakery
first
and
the
smells
were
amazing.
Fresh
baked
rugelach,
challah,
the
best
rye
bread
I
have
ever
head
as
the
crust
was
crunchy,
black
&
whites
and
I
might
say
the
best
Chocolate
Chip
Cookie
I
have
had
in
awhile.
I
had
a
pastrami
sandwich
on
rye
with
a
Dr.
Browns
Cream
Soda
and
was
in
heaven.
Of
course
it
was
HUGE
and
I
could
not
eat
it
all
but
it
made
an
amazing
breakfast
chopped
up
and
pan
seared
with
an
egg
the
following
morning
for
breakfast
-
Total
YUM!
It
is
amazing
how
they
have
been
able
to
hold
onto
this
incredible
history.
Notice
the
Pie
Cases
-
wowee
if
you
love
pies
and
so
hard
to
choose.
Picked
up
a
pound
of
corned
beef
and
half
a
loaf
of
rye
to
bring
back
to
St.
Louis
with
me
thank
goodness
I
had
a
cooler.
My
only
wish
was
that
I
had
purchased
more
baked
goods.
I
cannot
wait
to
go
back.
