Google reviews brought us here, and we were very lucky to get the last table as we hadn’t booked. The menu is traditional with a modern twist; lovely ingredients and beautifully cooked. This place has a warm, friendly ambiance and our server was knowledgeable, charming, and spoke perfect English. Excellent food, wine, service and atmosphere. By far the best restaurant we ate at on this trip.

Nestled conveniently amidst shops and in close proximity to the modern art museum, La Colimacon is a hidden gem for exquisite dining. The service exceeded expectations, although the intimate space may feel a bit snug. It's advisable to book in advance to ensure a comfortable seating arrangement. While many Parisian restaurants typically waive service charges, we didn't mind the request, especially given our lack of reservation. The continuous replenishment of baguettes contributed to the overall delightful experience. Notably, their Duck Confit stood out as one of the best, although it's worth noting that duck confit dishes tend to be on the greasier side.

Very happy with my experience. I truly think you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes they offer. I had a simple house red wine with the rabbit leg stuffed with oyster mushrooms and wrapped in bacon. It was a perfect pairing. The food was tremendous! So fresh and tasty. I also recommend the French toast for dessert, it was incredible. Nothing bad to say, I will be coming back whenever I am in Paris again :)

Nice place to have traditional French cuisine, cozy atmosphere with a street view from upstairs, and nice service. We enjoyed the food but found the food was priced too high for what it was. Extremely unreasonably expensive. Similar options and quality found for less elsewhere.

We came here as per Google's review hoping for some nice traditional French cooking. The place is very cozy and food were good, but not to the same level as some other french restaurant that we been to. My one major complaint was my food was not the hottest, so I suspect all the food was premade, and warmed up as customer ordered. There is inconsistent temperature in the food. But it's still not a bad choice as there seem to be a few locals there, so made me think of it's good enough for the local, must be good enough for me!

We were in Paris for 5 days. During that time we went to a lot of highly rated restaurants, even Michelin Star restaurants. The meal we had at Le Colimacon was the best meal we had the entire trip. Absolutely delicious! Come here if you like a cozy atmosphere and delicious food.

We did not have a reservation but as we came early enough... around 7:00pm we were given a table to sit... so thank you sir for that! Food was amazing! Escargot was out of this world... served in pastry shells with greens, and so were the goat cheese in phyllo dough, the duck with pate and the stuffed peppers with cheese. Thank you for the delicious food and excellent services!

On the last night of our 3 week European Vacation, we ate dinner at Le Colimaçon. I had heard of it through one of my favorite IG accounts, and it seemed like it would be a great way to end our vacation. As it turns out, everything about that dinner was perfection. From the service, the location, the meal- the desserts! Simply wonderful. So glad we saved the best for last, and hope to be back again someday.

Cozy French bistro in the heart of the Le Marais. Small tables so would recommend for couples or smaller groups. Creative presentation for the escargots as they are to eaten whole versus in their shells. The duck breast was delicious and juicy. Scallops were a small portion but very tasty as well. Prices are quite high compared to portions. Menu was not very detailed so expectations were a bit misaligned. Overall nice experience.

Good food and the service is amazing. Located in the lively Jewish corner of the 3rd. Brought people here who had all been to Paris many times and who all kept gushing over how much they loved the area and restaurant. I rsvp'd a party for 6 with a five day notice and they were very accommodating. I'd come back just for the service alone! Nice area to walk around before or after your meal. Definitely would visit again.

One of the best restaurants I have eaten at in a long time. Small place so have a reservation. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is DELICIOUS…I have the rabbit legs stuffed with wild mushrooms wrapped in bacon. I have been eating rabbit all my life and this was the best rabbit I have ever had. For dessert get Grandma’s French Toast! French food at its finest and it will not break ur wallet

Had more expectations from the place but it was a bit of a letdown. Didn’t really enjoy any of the dishes. Stuffed rabbit leg looks like it’ll be mouth-watering good but the meat is very lean and not very flavorful, stuffing is not very interesting and doesn’t quite provide the moisture, the dish gets cold fast and the bacon doesn’t taste as good as it looks. Beef tartare was just average and some pieces were hard to chew. Ok fries. Foie gras had a delicious toast under it but was itself kind of cold as if they haven’t just seared it (which makes sense but I would have wanted it hotter). The upside is that you can try some more expensive wines here by the glass, they have one of those dispensing machines. Very friendly service and reasonable prices.

Wonderful late dinner. Service was attentive, engaging and helpful. Both dishes I had were delicious. I had a 14.5 hour travel day so my standards may not have been affected at this point. But, the snails were delicious-all the flavor of usual but with the twist of an edible shell. It could have been slightly warmer but it may be that would have affected the crispness of the shell which was spot on. The stuffed rabbit was sold as the specialty of the house and it delivered. So tender-not sure how it was cooked but reminiscent of sous vide level of tenderness yet still able to stand up. The stuffing was yummy and the salad the right tartness to offset the richness of the dish. The champagne by the glass and recommended red to go with the rabbit were perfect pairings. Thank you for being so enjoyable after such a long day!

Fantastic customer service and family friendly restaurant. The waiter was so nice and was very helpful with his recommendations. The steak was amazing but hands down our favourite was the semi cooked chocolate dessert. You won’t be disappointed dining at this restaurant!

Excellent food, wine and service. The confit de canard (duck confit) was amazing. We enjoyed the funky music. Next time, though, I would not request the table in front the upstairs window because it is right next to the kitchen door.

Le Colimaçon is your spot if you want to share a romantic dinner in Paris! My wife and I had an exceptional dinner there this summer! The food is so delicious (we had the escargots, which came in edible crispy shells, and the creamy burrata to start. Then, we shared the ribeye steak and the duck, which were both super tender and tasty. We finished with the decadent chocolate fondant (the caramel sauce and the vanilla ice cream on the side were to die for!) They have an extensive list of wines (with high-end wines available by the glass) and some great digestifs (including one special “Le 44”-> highly recommend! I can’t wait to go back on our next visit to Paris; this is a gem!

Great service? Check. Delicious? Check. Fairly priced? Check! We arrived later for dinner without a reservation on Saturday (yikes!) in November, but the two female waiters graciously helped us get a two-person table. The patrons were mostly locals, and we instantly found out why when we received our dishes. The presentation and flavor were highlights on the trip, and the waitresses kept coming back to ensure everything was great. A huge thank you for a wonderful evening Colimacon!

Truly spectacular. The chef is truly marvellous and this should go for a Michelin star. Entrées and mains were 10/10. I had the stuffed peppers with goats cheese then the duck. After 1.5 weeks in Paris on this occasion I’d have to say this was the stand out meal for me. Book if you can as they get very busy. We were lucky to get a table. The level of quality, perception, plating, flavour was outstanding. Hope I have the chance to go back one day. Enjoy. Not to be missed if in Paris :)

Lovely, cosy little place with wonderfully bright, colourful and absolutely delicious dishes. We had a mixture of meat and veggie plates and all looked beautiful and were bursting with flavour. The staff were friendly and efficient and the service was swift, but not too swift. We never felt rushed. This place is a little gem.

Highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. We sat on the second floor with a window view. The staff was very nice and attentive. My husband and I loved the food!! We had the duck foie gras and frisée salad to start. We had the stuffed rabbit and duck confit as our mains. Then the cream brûlée and trio of sorbets for dessert. Every bite was well balanced. We would come back here in a heartbeat!!

The service and the environment is great but the food is not up to what I expected from the prices, compared to other places in Paris. We only had the steak and duck breast, both are mediocre and hard to chew, not much flavor, is not something you would come again for. The veges in the dish however, is excellent, (and the soup too), much better than the meat…

This place had great reviews and I can see why! A small amazing little spot tucked in Le Marais. The food was awesome. Fried truffle Brie, pimento cheese peppers, ribeye with a delicious sauce and duck confit(the only place I’ve seen that does a really crispy skin but soft tender meat) From the outside this place is unassuming, but it has charm and fantastic food!

We visited Paris from the states and found reviews on them before leaving. Both food and service surpassed our expectations. Dish after dish improved right up to dessert. Highly recommend the French toast with foie gras, pan-fried smoked duck breast starter and Iberian square dish! We will be back!

Nice French restaurant with gastronomic cuisine, the lamb was better than excellent with the combination of the sauce and purée. I only didn’t like the stuffed rabbit leg although everyone says is a must. Lava cake and wine also special and helpful staff

The hype is real about the rabbit.. It was delicious ..and I'm not usually a fan. Their version stuffed with mushrooms , wrapped in thin slices of bacon and oven roasted rocked... Lightly sauced and served with root vegetables it was indeed a highpoint of a week of eating in Paris. My wife very much enjoyed her duck breast and the starter of white asparagus was nice as well. We drank a bottle of the Morgon and it went down well with our dinner. The french toast desert was nice enough and the service friendly and professional.. We asked for the window seat upstairs when we booked on line and they graciously gave it to us.. Thank you!

Back for a second visit and still a very solid five stars - one of my favourites in Paris. Their house snail starter is perfection, and today's mushroom and fois gras-stuffed, bacon-wrapped rabbit was among the best I've ever had. Great wine list and atmosphere to boot. Very near perfection.

Excellent authentic French bistro. The scallops, the stuffed rabbit leg and the cassolette with mushrooms were to die for. Imagine that we ordered the cassolette twice. The young lady that served us was super polite, professional and fluent in French and English. Certainly a place to visit for anyone that visits Paris!

We had the best time here. The food was lovely and the staff were so kind. We were late because of the traffic on the way from the airport, but they held the table for us. It was busy, but cosy inside the restaurant. Lovely evening for couples wanting good food and friendly service!

This is a really nice place to eat, the vibe is right and you’re served upstairs in an awesome room with exposed beams. The food is phenomenal, I wish I found this place earlier in my visit because it’s been the best place hands down. Make a reservation- there’s a cute table by the window on the second floor that overlooks the street below. Modern take on traditional French delicacies- be sure to get the “snail chips” where the shell is an edible chip. All the meats were delicious and tender, wait staff pleasant and friendly, cannot speak highly enough of this place!

Amazing food, friendly staff. It was a place to repeat. Everything I had was delicious from the entrée to desserts. Highly recommended: - French toast topped with foie gras and pan-fried smoked duck breast - Confit de canard du Quercy, pommes grenailles - Caramelized apple tart whipped cream Loved everything about this place, will definitely be back!

Traditional French cuisine in the heart of Le Marais. Le colimaçon is a small and cozy restaurant with a wide variety of classic French staples. All the plates were delicious. The escargots were particularly good in their edible shell. Highly recommend, especially for visitors looking to try the local cuisine.

Great food, wine and service. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area, but make sure you make a reservation in advance. One of the locals recommended this restaurant to me as a must try if I’m looking for good French cuisine. She had also warned me that it’s a small restaurant with limited tables, so I made a reservation on line for my dinner plan. Good thing I did, because I saw some large walk-in groups turned away simply because the restaurant is completely booked. They were able to seat some small groups but had warned them that they have to finish by a certain time if they want a table. There’s a decent sized wine list, I chose an organic red wine recommended by my server and it was very good. Food menu was on a chalk board, in French. My server translated every dish for me, which was great. Don’t worry if you don’t speak French, they have servers fluent in English. I think on the night I was there, they had servers who spoke 5 foreign languages (English, German, Italian etc.) so this is a pretty tourist friendly local restaurant. I had the foie gras as my starter, steak and vegetables as my main course and the sorbet as my dessert. Everything was delicious. Most of the dishes are very fresh and light in flavor. I finished every bite of food on my plate. Loved the mango and peach sorbet. The lemon sorbet was just ok, should have gotten another scoop of the peach sorbet instead. Price was reasonable. My 3 course meal and two glasses of wine came out to EUR 74, which is not too bad for a high quality delicious meal.

Having a reservation is expected, do not expect to find a seat by walking in. We had snail chips (this one packs a great twist, just order it and eat the whole thing because shells are edible in their version of escargot!), rabbbit and duck. Food was fine. On the negative side, the wine they suggested wasn't good and staff didn't allow us to use the toilet or even wait at our table inside before our reservation and asked us to wait under the heavy rain. Not a humane way...

  • 3/5 Kelly T. 2 years ago on Google
The service was great - attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was a mixed bag. The pimientos del piquillo (sweet red peppers stuffed with goat cheese) were excellent, but the main dishes were underwhelming for the price. The prawns and risotto came with only 3 prawns. I didn't like the sweet and sour sauce on the duck, and it was cooked far less than I'd requested. The boar Bourguignon was also pretty tough, but I can imagine that it may be difficult to get boar tender.
