The service can be a bit uneven but stand out for excellent service was the new waitress from the Phillipines ( I didn’t get her name ) who welcomed me back and made me feel welcome . If you are looking for a truly great coffee in Paris Coutume is the place to go. You'll always find a new batch of exotic beans from locally sourced coffee farms. First Congo origin I ever tried and it was marvelous! If you are looking for more traditional origins they have always a great selection and if you are not a coffee head the food, ambiance, and service alone makes Coutume by far the best coffee place on this side of the Seine. Enjoy!

You must come here for the Riccotta cheese dish. Its one of the best dishes I ever had as a breakfast. It comes with bread and poached egg. The vibes are also very cozy. And their flat white is MUST to try.

We came to the restaurant on July 17, 2022 as a group of 4 people to have breakfast (this was literally the first meal of the day for all of us). 2-3 hours after we left I started feeling myself not really well. We went to the hotel and this was the moment when my 12-hour toxication experience began. It was one of the worst poisoning (nausea, vomiting, body stiffness, temp of 39.2) I have ever had in my life. I’m writing this review today still from my bed. I would probably consider it to be a coincidence and blame myself but out of 4 people 3 had pretty the same experience with only one confining his problems to stomach ache. I think it’s unacceptable in HoReCa industry: you should bear full responsibility for what you are serving your guests with. And I can only assume that at Coutume they don’t have proper quality control in the kitchen (who is preparing food, what ingredients are used, is hygiene kept on the proper level). Shame on you. My 4-day vacation is totally buggered.

Tried this place out for brunch the other week and (as American tourists) this has been our favorite breakfast food so far in Paris! The pancakes were fluffy, but had a nice sweetness to them and went great with the bacon and eggs. I had my bacon on the side and they added fresh arugula that paired nicely with it. Great coffee at this spot! Their breakfasts were great. The brioche French toast was my favorite but the pancakes, chia pudding and pastrami sandwiches were delicious too. Their juices are also great.

Brilliant brunch spot located roughly 10 minute walk from the Museè Invalides. We had Scrambled eggs with mushrooms - good quality produce but it could have done with more seasoning as the eggs were a little bland. Other than that dish was good Yogurt & Granola - really delicious with a good selection of fruit, plenty of nuts & seeds and their homemade jam was the highlight of the dish. Great portion size for the money too. Toasted banana bread & whipped cream - great as a small snack with our coffee. Cortardo & Flat white - the coffee was delicious and I’m pretty certain they used their own specialty roasts as there were plenty of bags for sale in the shop. Great breakfast spot.

Great coffee but the place itself needs a bit of an upgrade. The door to the outside was constantly ajar letting in cold air. Also, the electricity would constantly cut out and would not come back on, making it hard for people to use the restroom resulting in a not-so-great environment in there since people decided shooting blind was better than holding it in. Don’t get me wrong though, their coffee is pretty great!

For the past 6 months I have been looking for a good flat white in Paris. Given the size of the city and the afinity with good food and wine you would expect them to be everywhere... nothing could be less true. Even Starbucks here seems to think a flat white is a cappuccino with an extra shot. .. BUT I just found coutume!!! Excellent silky froth with a string balanced roast and to make it better than just a great flat white ( which it is) the patisseries are French and excellent! Ii will be here a lot!
