We did a private tour of Sainte Chapelle and the nearby area of Notre Dame with Sylvanie. She is very knowledgeable and she explained everything in great detail. She has a great sense of humour which made the entire tour an enjoyable experience. I would like to specially mention that she was able to arrange elevator access for our senior parents , something which we had specifically requested for. She also kept the pace of the tour slow enough for our parents. Overall, this was a memorable experience for us.

Sylvanie is an excellent art history tour guide. She's extremely knowledgeable and passionate about art, which made my experience at The Louvre and The Rodin Museum much more enjoyable. Sure, you can listen to an audio guide while you tour the museum yourself, but it's not nearly as fun and it might not answer all your questions that pop up. Can't wait to go back to Paris and explore more of it with Sylvanie as my guide!

Had a great private walking tour in Marais with Sylvanie! She got great vibe - really friendly and sweet! I got to walk around the area with great history knowledge and anecdotes. She showed me many hidden gem/ street art that people would otherwise never visited. We tried some Jewish bakes at the end and she took me to an artisan chocolate shop (because I mentioned my love for chocolate). I had one of the most amazing chocolate there and the staff was so nice to offer many trial to us as well! We truly ended our walk tour with a sweet note 🥰 I will def book her again and can’t wait for my next paris visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Sylvanie during a private 2-hour tour of the Louvre. It was easy to book the reservation and confirm our meeting place prior to the tour. The tour itself is perfect to focus on the highlights of this world famous museum. We met before 10am at the appointed spot and she promptly escorted us to a side entrance to avoid the crowds in front of the pyramid. We had the pleasure of re-connecting with Sylvanie Arnaud of Art Story Walks this past week during a stay in Paris. We first met Sylvanie 2 years ago for a tour of other sites in Paris and she was outstanding. She is so personable, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate. We first visited Sainte-Chapelle on Ile de la Cite and were captivated as Sylvanie took us through its history, architecture and stunningly beautiful stained glass windows depicting biblical and other scenes (which, fortunate for us, were brilliantly illuminated by the sunny day outside). Sylanvie then took us on leisurely stroll along the banks of the Seine River through the lovely Jardin des Tuileries, and on to our second site, Musee l'Orangerie, famous for it collection of Claude Monet's Water Lillies as well as works by many other artists (Renoir, Matisse and Picasso). Monet's Water Lillies were breathtaking in terms of their scope and the variations in light and colors (based on the time of the day/early evening as Monet captured them). Sylvanie pointed out the brilliant brush strokes by Monet which appeared blurry close up, but come into perspective when viewed at a distance, and how these works were designed for the two circular rooms in which they reside and serve as places for quiet meditation and reflection. The following afternoon, Sylvanie took us on a tour of Musee d'Orsay, housed in a former train station (beautiful in its own design) with its many sculptures and works of art by the Impressionists, including Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne, Gauguin as well as works by Courbet, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec and even Arrangement in Gray and Black No. 1 (AKA Whistler's Mother). We appreciated that Sylvanie also pointed out several female artists in both museums who are often overlooked in any review of their collections. Her knowledge, expertise and attention to detail were outstanding. Sylvanie guided us for two days. We were on a girls trip with my mom and two daughters (ages 14 and 13) and she did a fantastic job of entertaining and engaging everyone. My teens were not looking forward to a 3 hour tour of the Louvre, but both ended up saying it was their favorite part of our 10 day trip to Paris! Sylvanie engaged them with stories of Greek and Roman gods/goddesses and scandals of various works of art. 3 hours went by like it was 15 minutes! The next day she took us to Musee L'Orangerie and Musee D'Orsay and then out to Giverny. Again, she kept everyone entertained and interested. The girls had fun and learned too! Sylvanie has a clear passion for art history and an excellent way to conveying that passion to others. She was extremely knowledgeable and so friendly and instantly likeable. We had a fantastic two days with her guiding us and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tour. I only wish we had known about her earlier and booked all our tours with her! My husband and I did a 2-hour tour of the Louvre with Sylvanie and it was fantastic! We asked for the greatest hits because we didn't have a lot time and she delivered above and beyond, giving us very interesting back stories and making the experience fun. She is very nice and knowledgeable. A couple of weeks later I reached out to her because I had family members visiting Paris and they needed a guided tour in Spanish. She referred my family to other guides quickly, who were also great. I highly recommend Sylvanie for your next Paris experience!

My 2 daughters and I took a tour with Sylvanie in December of 2022. This was the best tour guide I have ever met in my life. My daughters having little knowledge of the impressionist painters, Sylvanie took the time to go back in time at the Musee D'Orsay to show us what had happened before impressionism so everything would make sense to us when we moved on to impressionism, the era I had most specifically requested. The tour was thorough, and she even stayed a little longer than was agreed upon to show us more areas of the museum. What stuck with us was her perfect knowledge of the english language. Sylvanie is French but her english flows so well, you would think she was a native. We really appreciated her skills, having had before some guides we could barely understand. She is a happy person and so entertaining, explaining during the tour all kinds of stories and funny facts about the art in front of us. This will stay in my mind as the most incredible experience in Paris. For that reason, we have decided to take some of the other tours she offers when we visit Paris again very soon. Sylvanie's tour of the Louvre was wonderful! This was our first visit to the Louvre. Sylvanie provided the perfect balance of Louvre highlights, historical backstories, and really kept my 11 and 13 year olds (and me) engaged. This was one of the highlights of our trip. The Louvre is so large, overwhelming, and crowded and Sylvanie made the museum very accessible and enjoyable. We can't wait to come back with her to explore other parts of the museum.
