Its a beach resort and a beautiful place to get some me time on d beach. Imagine being on d beach at midnight with very calm waters and sea breeze! They serve you meals on demand and d food is good. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Staff are very polite and well mannered. I enjoyed my stay and im going back for sure

This is one of the serene atmosphere and lodge in Tarkwa Bay with wired fence owned by an American from Texas according to our tour guide. Oceanview beach camp has 3 wooden cabins that can house 6 people each at most. These cabins have balconies with chairs and tables for relaxation. Great view into the shores of Atlantic Ocean with Ships anchored waiting to offload at the Nigerian Ports Authority Apapa. Has beds, some foldable, fridge, has TV, no Air conditioning unit but fans, well ventilated rooms but poorly lit. Clean restroom and bathroom downstairs with hot tubs Has swimming pool and a gym with seesaw hanging from tree branches. A good place for a weekend get away and vacation with spouses, family and friends. Oceanview beach camp also have lodge at the shores of Tarkwa Bay. We also hired a tour guide who took us round for some sightseeing and a view of the bay from the top of an old structure called the lighthouse. A great view I must say. I had a beautiful weekend with friends.

The beach camp is an amazing place to be. It has a very serene environment and spending the night there felt really magical. However, it’s important to note the cost of things there. We used a boat to get there which was about N15,000 (we negotiated). We had to get the phone number of the boat guy to come get us for return. Getting there, we had to pay for entry. I think it’s about N1000 per person. Getting to the beach house, we wanted to eat. The food wasn’t exactly fantastic yet overpriced. A plate of noodles (obviously the small pack) was sold for N3000. Bottle of water was sold for over 4 times the normal price. The place of rice was sold for about N6000 a plate. I totally don’t understand the pricing of food here. Complementary meals doesn’t come with the rooms which is surprising. A hotel that costs about 30k a night will come with complementary meals (at least breakfast). But the rooms here are about N65,000 per night and no complementary meal. It’s something the management needs to look into together with the overpriced meal and drinks they sell. Well, we found a small shop where we bought biscuits and drinks instead of the overpriced meals. Asides these issues, the beach camp is serene, beautiful. The rooms were well arranged. Nice staff. Well secured environment. Well done to the team.

Prettier than I expected😌 They have cabins and rooms and there's a pool too. You can check their website for their price list, very accessible but you need to pay tax. They also have tree swings and a general sitting area, all being so colourful and beautiful. Their cabins take up to 6 people so it would be a wonderful spot to chill and relax with friends. You can go there on your own as well to relax. They have a grill and a lovely artistic restaurant too. In summary, it's a beautiful placceeee💯💯😌

This place was tranquil and rustic. At first I wondered what we had signed up for. It was so far out, away from the beach. However there’s a beach local handy to help fetch everything you need. Including firewood for the bonfire and charcoal for the grill. The cabins are clean. I love the fact that they had pots, pans and kettles (for those who like to cook). There was WiFi and electricity for most of our overnight stay. The staff were also courteous. No thugs harassed us. I’d suggest bringing your own food and drinks like we did. It was hard to believe we were in Lagos because of the serenity of the cabins. I would definitely return to JayBee’s.

OMG, this place is so beautiful if you love simple living. The cabins are clean and airy. The lapping sounds of the wave guarantees a peaceful rest. If you are not here. You missing out

Hmmmm. Firstly, you can only get to Jaybee which is located inside tarkwa bay by boat. If there's a way to get there by land, I haven't heard of it. They charge ₦500 naira at the gate of tarkwa bay before you get in a s begin the rather long walk to Jaybee. NOTE - IT'S A MILITARY ZONE. So be on your very best behaviour. It was when we got to the location that they started sweeping the cabin, laying the sheet, putting clothes on the chairs outside, and washing the toilet. It took about 45 minutes. And then we requested for food. Noodles and egg. When they brought it, at a glance, I thought it was yam porridge. The noodles were so gummy and then the egg looked like a wet sock. I just couldn't eat it. The kitchen staff didn't apologize for taking a long time to prepare noodles. The cabin costs ₦66,000 per night(please call them to confirm this if you'll ever be going), that plate of noodles and egg was ₦3,000 and then bottled water was ₦310. It's the ₦10 that still blows my mind. Is it a serene environment? Yes. But I didn't have a great experience here.

Very cool place. Attractive and comforting environment. Jaybee Beach Camp has some camp like structures. So you have the opportunity to cook as well. You have serviette, electric jug, frying pan and the likes in the room for your personal cooking. You can decide to make a barbecue. All you need is to bring your ingredients, every other thing to make it is made available. All the facilities in Jaybee beach camp is meant for only registered guests. There is a cool swimming pool there too for pool parties and relaxation. You can bring in food into your cabins or Any other reservations you have made but you can't take in food to eat at the restaurant. Although, they can help you microwave your food. You can also eat anywhere in the garden. There is a good mini fridge too in the cabin for preservation and cooling of whatever you bring in. There are just 2 fans but no television. Although, there is cross ventilation but there might be need for an extra fan for the singles sleeping on their singles bed. The fan there is at the couples' corner. The room can accommodate like 6/8 people; 2 couples and 2 singles. Takwa Bay is a private beach and you get to buy so many things from the beach hawkers if you have a good bargaining power😊 There is a red flag just by the beach around the rock area to tell people that they can't go towards that side to swim but many a times don't take note. You can enjoy yourself as long as you don't drown anyway. You pay for the beach seats under each tent and their prices vary depending on how far you can bargain. You also get fresh palm wine (kòbalè) from the vendors there😆😆 In case you don't have beach wears, you'll get on the beach from the beach hawkers but I'd advice you go with yours from home cos of the cost and cos you would choose what you want without pressure to buy.

It was a beautiful experience, we had to take a boat from Tarzan boats and the journey through the water was delightful. P.S don’t take pictures close to the beach it’s a Naval camp or something. We took a beach bike to Jaybee resort. Activities available include, snooker, volleyball, table tennis, swings, swimming pool. On the beach you can ride the beach bikes, there are horses and so much more. For food, I strongly advise that you come with yours. Food in the resort can be quite expensive, I recommend Anna’s place she makes great meals. I am definitely coming back here when get my leave from work.

The beach house had a very welcoming atmosphere. The sound of wind whisphering through the trees provides a melody of comfort especially at the cool of the night. The cabin is also spacious and good for a group/team bonding experience.

Lovely and beautiful place, with an Amazing ambience. Just put in an extra effort in creating a wow effect to the already beautiful environment. More trees, more animals for sighting, etc. But aside that, it's such an amazing place! It's a come back for me..😊❤

I totally enjoyed my stay here. It was amazing having a quiet time away from the stress and noise from Lagos. I loved how simple and artsy the room was. The staff(Tunde) was very helpful. It’s a great place to spend time away. The have the rooms which fit two people and cabins that fit 6 people. Jaybee beach Camp is accessed by boat.

Jaybee Camp is a place to visit especially if you want to enjoy cool and relaxing atmosphere. The environment is so lovely and close to nature. But you can experience a delay in service delivery. You also need to get the menu price list before visiting, this will help you prepare well.

The overall place looks nice at first glance but looking closely there are too many signs of very poor maintenance. Upon arrival no one was there to welcome my friend and I after passing security at the gate. A soldier was the one telling us the people to attend to us are upstairs in the restaurant. I was shocked that there was no reception area downstairs. The room was not clean. The duvet had a blood stain on it. There were ants in the room and the bathroom. The pool was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. I couldn't even sit in the pool area it looked too unkept. The restaurant upstairs reminded me of visiting a country close by that doesn't respond to customers on time. Food that was ordered when the sun was shining, came to the table when it was dark outside. All the food was extremely over priced and tasted quite underwhelming. The breakfast option was also poor. It's definitely nothing to write home about. The one thing I did enjoy was the horse back riding to the light house. That experience was very cool. However, the stable was extremely unkept. The owner of this space should work on maintenance seriously. Too many insects everywhere. Even at the restaurant, we were uneasy trying to avoid things crawling on the table. This place has no access to mobile networks and the WiFi in oceanview wasn't the strongest. I'm guessing the concept of the place is to unplug from the world, but these are things to tell guests in advance. I like being accessible to the outside world

Usually love going to the resort but standards dropped a lot recently. Was there 2 weeks ago and there were about 20 cockroaches in the room - sheets didn’t feel clean either. Maintanance isn’t up to standard but the compound and surrounding areas are nice

Highly recommend. Tarkwa Bay is relatively safe if you're considering visiting alone and/or very particular about safety as there is a police base there. Asides the cabin at Jaybee Beach Camp, there are room options for 1/2 people though it may be more fun with a group. Jaybee has a well equipped gym (that is not stated on the website), a swimming pool, tree swings & a nice cafe with an amazing view of the Atlantic ocean. The rooms are nice and clean and you can always speak to Tunde or Eniola if you need anything sorted (incl. WiFi access). The owner is also very friendly. The menu at the cafe is limited. The pizza didn't turn out great but the grilled fish was excellent.

🤙Accommodation is simple but nice. Enjoyed my stay here @Beach View. 👍Compound is well maintained and gives you the peace you crave for. 🏝 👌Food menu is good and the portions (at least for the wrap that I ate) are big. Food pricing is fair but the service is way too slow - roughly 45min for the breakfast preparation ⏳ 🤔 Pricing for the accommodation is a bit high to be honest. ➡️ I will definitely come again!

The place is serene. Guests have access to the pool, there is a garden, swings, you have a beautiful view of the beach, it is clean and secured. If you are looking for a home away from home, place away from the noise, the bustle and hustle of lagos, then this resort should be on your top list!

This is one of the few decent accommodation available on takwabay, it is just a strolling distance from the beach front. I stayed in one of the rooms and not the cabin. Pro: The staff are friendly, the environment is really cozy ,you can just sit around and enjoy the scenery. The pool area is also nice. Another perk is the dstv decoder in the room with full subscription. Con: Stayed for two days and my room wasn't cleaned the second day. No complimentary breakfast which is really a let down. The food is expensive. Bottom line: Nice getaway 👌 but take the cabin instead of the room for that outdoor experience .

Eniola was very nice. We had an issue with the booking and she fixed it. So we had to move cabins because of this issue. We stayed at the new cabin (tide water) on the first night and the cabin at jaybee's camp (beach view) the second night. At tide water, the room is nice with the bedroom area, dinning area, toilet, shower and sitting area outside, all downstairs. Then upstairs is the rooftop. You are provided with fan, toiletries and towels. Generator to power the cabin came on at 6pm and stayed on till we checked out the next day. It's nice for groups also, extra beds are provided. But at night, we were literally the only one on the beach as everyone retired home. It was a bit scary but Eniola assured us that it was 100% safe. No WiFi here. Anything you want comes from the camp, so you have to call all the time or go to the camp yourself if you are impatient. Then the next day, we checked out and moved to the camp, we stayed at the beach view cabin which as also nice. There are other cabins at the camp, it's fenced round and gated. Beach view cabin has two beds, table fridge, 3 fans, sitting area as you step out of the room all upstairs. Then downstairs, you have the toilet. I didn't like the fact that I had to go downstairs to use the toilet/washroom. But I loved it there. There's power here 24/7. We didn't get to use the WiFi as it didn't work and they didn't do anything about it. I hope they do soon. At night, we went to the bar and there was a live band playing. The food was delicious, the service was great and the staff were nice. You can take your own snacks and drinks also. No microwave, so don't bring food. They have a grill, you can bring your own meat or fish, charcoal is 5OO naira. But all can get all from their kitchen and bar, so don't stress it. I'll definitely go there again. Thank you Jaybee for having us 🤗

The beach house was peaceful and all the things you need is at hand full , the highlight for me was the swimming pool of course, as it is clean and this is because if you are not a lodger you can't swim there do it restrict a lot of people that may want to crowd the place , the price is above 50k and below 100k so if your budget is within the range then maybe is the place to be.

The customer service here could be a bit iffy sometimes and because there's basically no competition on the island, the team could be quite lax about fine details. However, the lodge is a fantastic place for a beachfront glamping experience or team retreat. Each lodge hosts 6 people and there are three lodges. The lodges are clean and well maintained and there's everything needed to enjoy a camping experience with comfort. Waking up to the sea breeze is a priceless feeling. The food served at the bar could be a bit pricey so reach out to the locals on the island for much better priced grilled fish or suya.

  • 4/5 Zorbari N. 3 years ago on Google
Jaybee beach camp was amazing! It was serene and beautiful. There's a pool, tree swings and outdoor picnic tables where we planned on having dinner but nothing beats dinner with a view of the sea so we used Tarkwa cafe instead. The food was nice, dessert menu is a bit limited but it was okay. Oh and if you stay here, do take an early morning walk by the beach, you'll definitely fall in love with this place. Rating 4 stars instead of 5 because 1. There was an issue with the plumbing in the morning and we weren't updated until after we had called several times; husband had to go fetch and carry bath water with a bucket. 2. The means of transportation to Tarkwa Bay was scary.
