こじんまりした湯本の温泉ホテル。
いわき市佐糠町のお客さんの訪問ついでに宿泊した。
ホテルのご主人やお給仕のお姉さんが、フレンドリーで親切丁寧な接客をしてくれるのでとても感じが良く、料理も決して豪華ではないけれど、素朴で美味しかった。遅い時間のお昼ご飯を丸鮮でお客さんにご馳走になり、お腹いっぱい食べ過ぎて、夕食時にはまだお腹が空いていなかったのが残念だった。
建物内部はすこし古さが目立つけれど、よく掃除をしてあって清潔感があるので気持ちよく過ごせた。
浴室が狭く、3人を超える入浴は避けてほしいと案内されたけれど、実際は大人2人がやっとだと思う。露天風呂も無い。しかし、この建物の規模だとこのサイズの浴室は仕方ないと思う。泉質は硫黄の香りが漂っていてよかった。中国人の連れはお風呂が臭い匂いがしていたと言っていたけれど、硫黄の臭いだと思う。
正直ホテルに到着した時は建物を見てハズレたとがっかりしたけれど、中に入るとご主人は親切でフレンドリーだし、部屋も狭いけれどちゃんと綺麗でご飯も美味しいし、印象が良い方に変わった。
意外とこぎれいな建物内部と比べて建物の外壁がだいぶ老朽化しているので、塗装をしなおして修繕をした方がもっとファーストインプレッションがよくなると思った。
