👍👍 Carp streamers are washed while cherry blossoms bloom along the river. It is very good because there is no place to hold a party because it is along the river. Usually there are food stalls, but this year there were none. People often mention cherry, blossoms, Gojo, River,

It is placed in preparation for nonbori washing. I went there a while ago, but it was so crowded that I couldn't see it (lol) Cherry blossoms 🌸 are in full bloom. The location is great ✨ There were many stalls and it was a lot of fun 😊

The Iwakura Sakura Festival was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, but I went to see the cherry blossoms. There were no food stalls at all, but there was a decent amount of people. Personally, I was very grateful to be able to enjoy the cherry blossoms at a leisurely pace with so many people. I also felt happy because I had a pre-wedding photo taken.

Along with the Gojo River's cherry blossoms, it is also famous for ``Nonbori-arai.'' The process of washing the hand-dyed carp streamer ``nori'' in the Gojo River by streamers who carry on a 400-year-old tradition is called ``Nonbori Washing.'' The Gojo River in Iwakura is also known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms, and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. The sight of cherry blossoms blooming from both ends of the river and their petals flowing down the Gojo River is a very beautiful scene. I think "Nonbori Washing" adds even more elegance to such a beautiful scenery. This time, I couldn't go to the "Nonbori Washing" time so I couldn't see it, but it's a very romantic and traditional sight where the colorful "Carp streamers" look like they're swimming in the Gojo River. . There are also many carp swimming in the Gojo River. The cherry blossom season is short, but if you have the chance, this is a scenic spot that we highly recommend you visit.

There wasn't much going on when I visited, but I saw many people jogging and walking. When you go down the stairs to the water's edge, you will find many carp in the clear water. The cherry blossom season is very beautiful.

The sight of dyed carp streamers and other items being washed in the Gojo River is one of Iwakura City's specialties. The Gojo River is also a famous spot for cherry blossom viewing.
