The food and the service is exceptional. Although “Shrimp” is in the name, everything else is equally better than traditional fast foods!

I ride past here all the time wondering if the food is good? WELL long story short my neighbor told me it was shrimp day 30 shrimp for 13.99 + 2 sides apparently she goes every Tuesday for the special she said she would bring me back a sample but instead I decided to go myself. Can I say I was not disappointed I was super impressed the shrimp were cooked to perfection they were hot fresh seasoned very well the fries were hot and fresh... now I don't even eat hush puppies but I said let me try this one I ate them both! 10 stars 🤩🤩 shout out to Nathan in the Drive-Thru much love 😘😘. #mynewfavoriteplace

Great customer service. I got the shrimp and catfish combo- fried . Everything came out hot !!!! Shrimp was tasty. Catfish was okay. Hush puppies were nasty, they were not cooked all the way through. Green beans needed more seasoning. Cheese grits was surprisingly tasty. I would go back for shrimp and grits only.

Fish was very soggy🙁 no flavor. Shrimp was average, Cole slaw and hush puppies were ok. Cheese grits were very good. Price was a little high for what it is. As far as convenience is concerned that was a plus, it was fast and the staff was friendly and courteous. Maybe if this was an inland area I would feel different, but with so many great seafood restaurants in the Jacksonville area I just can't recommend this.

Disgusting. Period. My first time eating here, for the price expected it to be great but nope. Very unfortunate. Amy (mgmt) gave me a hard time with a refund she approved, (since she messed up my son’s order), but didn’t know how to initiate so come to find out it never happened. 4 days later had to go back to get a physical refund. Tenders are toddler sized, Also what is that on my sandwich?

I've not had such fresh food and good service in a while. It was a breath of fresh air to be greeted so nicely by Benjamin. Kudos to Shrimp Shack for making a difference one customer at a time.

Awesome seafood at a reasonable price. Nothing fancy just friendly, fresh, and delicious! If I find myself back in Jax I will definitely come in again.

Amazing Food. Grew up in a seafood restaurant. Made me feel like home and ! great prices for the quality and freshness. Platter for 2 will feed 3 adults at least. Bam Bam sauce is 👍

Surprisingly good. Everything we ordered. Staff was friendly, order was quick, preparation and presentation top notch. A little pricey for 4 but for really good seafood that’s expected. Cole slaw a bit sweet for my likes however the cheesy grits amazed! French fries rival anything on the planet! If you want quick and good seafood this IS the love shack!

** Update 12-4-2023 ** Decided to give this location another shot as the owner was kind enough to reply and ask me to do so. I showed up 10 minutes after they opened. The young lady at the front was friendly and helpful. The bam shrimp was hot and fresh. Those are the only nice things I can say. One would expect walking in to a just opened restaurant, you'd be welcomed with fresh and appealing smells of sanitation chemicals and delicious food triggering the olfactory senses. Not here. Upon entry, I was hit with a wall of a musty sewage smell. I asked another customer if it was just me. He responded that he could smell it, too. Ended up getting my order to go because I didn't want to sit in a smelly restaurant In addition, I had asked for a military discount. I was informed the store does offer a military discount, just not on appetizers. Huh? No big deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning. It was more of a, "Yes, we do, but you didn't order enough," answer. There you have it... the second chance review. Owners, please crack the whip at this location. Something is seriously wrong. I don't know if it is management, a building/plumbing issue, or lack of wanting to invest more money into the facility to bring it up to an appealing standard. ** Original Review ** What a contrast with their Beaches location vs. their Orange Park location. Beaches store looked like it needed repairs, bathroom needed servicing, food was lackluster... so much so my wife took one bite of the catfish and said, "Thanks for thinking of me, but this is just nasty." I had shrimp at the OP location and, yes, there was a food quality difference. Beaches was slow in service, and the interior appearance made me glad I was getting it to go. I'll be patronizing the other location when I'm in the area, but y'all lost me with Beaches, which is sad as I live in Atlantic Beach.

I have eaten in, but mostly I drive thru. Courtesy is inside and out. Good fresh food always. I've told friends who are repeatedly saying the same.

The food and the staff here were awesome. We weren’t really sure what to expect but we’ve been eyeing this place for awhile so we decided to give them a try. The employees really went above and beyond which made it an even better experience. We had so much food that we were able to eat the other half of it for a later meal. Definitely give them a try. We will be back.

We've been going here for years but stopped going, because the quality was just so-so on the combo and, frankly, they stopped selling beer. Because I don't understand a fried-fish basket that doesn't have a solid beer to go with it.

Very good fish and shrimp dishes. Not fancy, just tasty. And large portions.

The food was hot and fresh. The restaurant is clean and I ordered catfish and fries dinner. The serving size was perfect for me definitely coming back😊

We take out orders. Tuesday and Thursday they have a great promotion 30 piece shrimp dinner with hush puppies and 2 sides for about $16.00! We split it.

Got the special. It was 30 piece shrimp. Lightly battered. The fries were really good too.. everything here is fried. But worth the cheat for great food that's not Over battered

The staff is wonderful. You could not want for more---so friendly and helpful. Very clean restaurant. They bring food to your table after you order at counter. Then they bus the tables. The shrimp (fried & grilled) were very good, though not large. The cheese grits and applesauce were delish. Coleslaw was a bit sweet for my taste. You'll love the hush puppies!

Went here for the first time for lunch and it was excellent. Decided to have the shrimp po'boy and it was very good. I will return here again. The cashier was very helpful too.

What a pleasant experience. We had lunch here on a whim since we were in the area and knew they have the best seafood. Our hostess, Lisa, was a true gem. In today’s environment you can many times interact with staff who do not want to be at work. This was not the case with Lisa. She made sure we knew about the daily specials before ordering and came to our table to ensure our order was correct. The service was fast but the food was on point. I recommend this place for the best fried shrimp in town. Beats all the other, and much more expensive, seafood places in the area.

We were in Jacksonville on a short vacation and read the other reviews and decided to try this place out. WOW!! We were pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious, the service was amazing, the restaurant was clean (so were the restrooms), and the amount of food you get for the money is outstanding. We honestly have nothing bad to say. Seriously. Nothing bad. We were in Jacksonville for 4 days and went to Shrimp Shack twice for dinner. 🤤 Both evenings had different staff, so kudos to those that train the staff and obviously have a high expectation for their staff. And they definitely are awesome! Everyone was nice and helpful. If we lived here, this would be a regular spot for us. Everyone should eat here!! Between the 2 visits, we had grilled scallops, fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, popcorn shrimp, fries, hush puppies, baked potato, coleslaw, and chocolate cake.

Overall good experience. I have to say that for a quick service restaurant, it's good quality, good portions and reasonably priced for what you get. We got the seafood platter and while the batter could use a bit more seasoning, everything was well prepared. Even the stuffed crabs were good. Though they were a bit heavy on breading and light on crab, there's actually lump crab in it.

Went here for the first time last night for my birthday, there was a 30 piece shrimp special with 2 sides...the food came out extremely hot and fresh, the eating hall was kept clean the entire time we were there. The lady that took our order also came out to check and see if we were satisfied, if we need refills, I mean all of the hostess were so friendly and accommodating. This place reminded me of the old St. Johns Seafood on beach blvd...always hot and fresh. The environment was always friendly and you felt like family. Shrimp Shack, you have definitely gained a new customer and I cant wait to come back.

Food was great service was great. I had the black and scallops cheese grits and coleslaw. My husband and Grandson had the fried shrimp. Everything was good.

The absolute best shrimp and the customer service cannot be beat. I am simply amazed at how kind and caring both locations were. It was an honest mistake at one location and both locations on Beach near my work and Orange Park on my way home to Keystone Heights went above and beyond to correct it. I have never had a restaurant go that far to make certain that a tiny mistake that would not have changed my opinion of their fabulousness either way was corrected. But I am very grateful and touched by their kindness of spirit and generosity. I already tell everyone that I know about their quality food and impeccable customer service and I will definitely continue to do so. Thank you to the managers at both the locations. I am sorry that I don't know both managers' names. I do know the manager at Orange Park is Fred. I appreciate the kindness of both locations. Thank you.

I bought the 30 piece shrimp and ff and it was Amazing. Everything was cooked fresh. The shrimp was a two bite. The hush puppy's were fresh and delicious. The ff was good as well and hot and not cold. The employees was Amazing. The store was clean as well. Next time I'm on Beach Blvd. I will be sure to stop in.

The restaurant was very clean with a good menu. There was a lot of food on that plate and I ended up taking a lot of that home. Reheated beautifully the next day. I was a little disappointed walking in because it appeared to be fast food. We took a chance and ordered and so glad we did. Fast food stopped with the ordering. We were served and taken care of by a very pleasant staff. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.
