If you are vegan/vegetarian, this restaurant is a must try in Nara! We tried a 3 course meal of the chef's selection. It included a variety of appetizers, 2 main dishes and a dessert at the end. All of the items tasted great and portions were appropriately sized. The restaurant is run by 2 sisters who are very friendly and can also speak English well. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very homely and nice as well.

I would give 6 stars if I could. Everything is vegan, gluten-free. Came here in Aug. 2022. They had been in business for 2 years. A seriously amazing, understated place. Popped in as soon as we got to Nara around 5pm on a Sunday, an hour before their closing time. The only meal food they had left to serve was the chirashizushi. Bento and lunch plates had sold out, duh. So much care, thought, patience went into that dish. Impeccably prepared. Delicately plated. Fresh ingredients. With the dish came a piece of paper detailing all ingredients. The top layer is assorted lightly pickled or fresh raw veggies. All green, oh my! My eyes were as pleased as my tongue 😜 Underneath are more goodies: yam, こんにゃく、corn, and soy meat prepared with green peppers... The yuzu sushi rice has ancient rice grains mixed in, presenting a gentle fuchsia colour. I had to brace myself to not inhale everything in a storm. Because I ate slowly and it was rather nutritionally dense, I felt quite satiated by the chirashizushi. Nonetheless, I got two of their gluten-free muffins: edamame cheese muffin and koji lemon. They also have coconut muffins and fermented azuki muffins, the latter of which had sold out. Muffins are 250 each, heated up and served with a flower of whipped cream if eaten in. They are tiny but big yum! You really taste the quality and dedication in every food. The owners are two sisters. One is the soft-spoken chef, the other more the boss, managing the front. She speaks good English and is very genuine and hospitable. The current rental space is reserved for startups and on a 3-year limited lease, so they will have to move in a year's time. I was advised to check their website, which is regularly updated, for the new location. The joint is rather small, tucked under the shotengai next to the Kintetsu station. Around 5-8 minutes on foot if you go there straight from the station without much browsing. It only seats about 4 people, all counter seats. So if you plan to eat in during meal hours on a weekend or holiday, you may not get seated right away. They also have a shelf of cat stuff for sale. Would have been back for lunch the next day if things had lined up on our end. But I'll definitely try eating here again next chance I get. They are the SWEETEST owners at this cute little gem. They were so kind, thorough in explaining what’s in the food & my favorite part… THEY ARE CRAZY CAT LADIES TOO. ☺️ they even made our noodle bowls with a little cat face in it! They also sell homemade cat collars so of course I bought my fur babies some. Kawaii!!!

This restaurant is super welcoming, it feels like you are at home! The two very sweet women running the restaurants are so lovely and welcoming! Best hospitality I had in Japan! Very good english and will do anything to make you feel comfortable. Also the food is amazing! Will definitely visit again if I ever come back to Nara!

Amazing food. We were in a rush, so got the lunch box to go. Food was so flavourful and portions were great. The sisters were lovely, and explained each item. They even told us of a lovely spot outside to go eat it.

Great quality food and menu super healthy! Lovely women, felt super welcomed and they also catered for my dietary requirements. My non vegan boyfriend loved it too. Recommend!

This is one of the best meals I’ve enjoyed in the 3 weeks I’ve been in Japan. The food is as gorgeous to look at as it is to eat. The owner takes great pride in her food and every course is explained in detail. Worth a visit to Nara for this meal alone (although the city is pretty special).

It was first time someone explained us what we were eating in a great English!! Super sweet owner, that also a cat 🐈‍⬛ lover 🖤 Food was great, fresh and delicious, we really liked variety of the set meal. If you are in the area it’s a great vegan place

A wonderful vegan restaurant with delicious food and the sweetest people who serve and cook the food. They were very considerate about my allergies and explained the story and ingredients behind every dish. A true gem! Definitely worth a visit!

This may be the #1 restaurant in all Japan. The food is incredibly delicious, even non-vegan is able to enjoy it happily. The shop is run by very sweet ladies. The service feels like being cared for by a family member. The only menu option is Chef's Choise Course. She explains each dish before you eat, just like Ryokan service. The decor inside is absolutely adorable with a theme of cats. I left very full and happy. The next time I return to Nara I will be sure to eat here again.

It was not easy to find a veggie restaurant but I’m glad I found this one. Delicious vegan food and the owner was really nice ! I’ll come back :)
