Did the 7am yoga session followed by the Ohayo Smoothie Bowl for breakfast at 8am with coffee. Amazing atmosphere, great class, and best smoothie bowl I've ever had. Would recommend for anyone staying in Nazowaonsen! Great way to warm up before a day of skiing

Awesome wholesome vegetarian food with surprising flavours! Must try the pastries and desserts! Life-saver for us in Nozawa Onsen where there are not as many vegetarian options.

I was very grateful to find this gem of a place in the busy hustle of dinner time. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, a change to some busy restaurants we had experienced. The food was amazing, cooked with care and love, compliments to the chef! The dinner set we ordered converted even the fussy"meat eater" with me. PS shout out to the sweet Melbourne girl who looked after us, thank you for your kindness. 😊

Beautiful plant based food made by super friendly people. Great place to come with toddlers too. Definitely will be stopping by regularly! Thank you Rowie for opening such an amazing place which was missing in Nozawa Onsen.

We stopped here on our first day and the food was awesome. I had avo smash with an onsen egg. Yum. And I also had a Vietnamese coffee (I think that’s what it’s called) which was delicious. Also snuck in some banana bread after 😋 The atmosphere was gorgeous, my soul felt so calm. And the staff were so cool. There’s a shoes on and off area which is appreciated. We also went to a yoga class and it was truly so lovely. I felt instantly welcomed. And it was very nourishing. From the way the class was run to being softly guided and held from time to time. Do visit both the yoga and cafe. Truly awesome.

I love this cafe. Rowie has a magical way of making any space she creates feel warm and welcoming. Her food is absolutely incredible- tasty, colorful, and healthy. I am dairy free and gluten free and this menu has so many options for me which I love and appreciate so much. Highly recommend a class at Rowie’s yoga studio followed by brekkie, lunch, or snack at Shizen ☀️❤️✨

I am so grateful for this wonderful space in Nozawa! The atmosphere is perfect for both relaxing and being productive. The fact that the food is plant-based is a rare and fantastic find in Japan, offering a refreshing change from the typical heavy ski resort food. The cafe has a cozy ambiance that makes you feel warm and welcome, and it's the ideal spot for a healthy breakfast after a yoga class. Highly recommend!

A much needed bubble of health and wellness tucked away in a quaint little cafe & yoga studio. Treat yourself. Your heart & belly will both leave smiling.

I've lived in Melbourne my whole life and it has arguably one of the best café scenes in the world. Shizen can go toe to toe with the food at any Melbourne café. This place has incredible vegan options - acai bowls, buddha bowls, in house baked sourdough, tofu scramble, banana bread and smoothies. You can also practice yoga at either this beautiful space or Shizen Collective through its owner and manager in Rowie, who is the most beautiful soul. If you happen to be a first-timer in Nozawaonsen and food & drink is your jam, I'd head straight to Shizen and pick Rowie's brain about all the hidden gems and nuances of this amazing village.

Perfect way to start the day with a 7am yoga flow. Coffee is brilliant too! Thank you, hope to visit again soon.

This café is amazing!! It is beautifully decorated; I actually took a few pictures for inspiration when I was there. And most importantly, the food is delicious. I had a smoothie bowl and a chai, and I could feel they were made with fresh ingredients. Take a yoga class with Rowie at the Hotel View, and then go relax at her café; that's my plan for a perfect day in Nozawaonsen. Don't forget to try an onsen too ;)

Rowie’s yoga class is a must every time I visit Nozawa! It’s such a great relaxing workout before a day of snowboarding. Plus her smoothies and vegan meals are so delicious, I could eat there everyday. Happy that she is providing these dining options in Nozawa!

My favorite cafe in Nozawa! No need to be vegan to enjoy the experience the store has to offer. Yoga classes are superb followed by great food and coffee/chai. You won't get food experiences like Shizen cafe in any other cafes in Japan. Wifi set up is great for using your laptop!

Shizen Collective was a warm hug in the middle of a Japanese winter. Wholesome, tasty food (two words : onsen egg) - great vibes - smiley staff; the absolute best way to start (or finish) a day

By far my favorite spot in Nozawa! Not only do you have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, but it’s all so delicious! It has the coziest vibe, its kid friendly, the staff make you feel like family, and I love that I could pop back in for a glorious yoga sesh as well! What more could you ask for! Love love love! ❤️

I would eat all my meals at Shizen if I could and have gladly travelled from outside Japan specifically to sample the delights this dreamy cafe has to offer. Without a question the best food on the mountain. The cafe is a beautiful space and I love it. Nozawa is lucky to have it, and to have Rowie.

👍👍 Atarashiya has to be one of my favourite restaurants here in Nozawa Onsen. I have been coming to Nozawa for over 8 years now and ever since my family and I have discovered this restaurant, we have come here every trip! The food is so delicious and I can't wait to go back! 👍👍 Situated halfway down Paradise, Buna has perfected the combination of good quality food and good views. On a blue sunny day, you can enjoy dining with beautiful scenery. On a windy snowy day, you can appreciate coddling in the heat and enjoying a hot bowl of miso soup. Would recommend getting the N...

👍👍 It was worth the hour in line. I ordered the grated Japanese yam cold soba, regular size. The egg and yam, with the added wasabi dipping sauce was a whole new experience. It coated the soba and made it so silky. I couldn’t get enough of it! I’m not a big eater but I ended up ordering a second soba b...

😠 I used it when I went to Nozawa Onsen. Employees were very rude and discriminatory. I thought Japanese people were polite, but it was the exact opposite and their attitude was very bad. I really recommend not using this place. I will never go to Nozawa Onsen again.
