Sounds better than it is. Haven't tried any restaurants here but feel that this Street wasn't much different to many others, except for the cobblestone

An interesting contrast to the busy Dotonbori tourist area as this place seems to be a secret alley of shops and restaurant that gives an old-time Japan charm, it's almost like being on a movie set! The strip is set in cobblestone paved path and it features a minor temple called Hozenji, for which the street was named after. There's a small stone Buddhist statue now beautifully covered with moss, thanks to a long tradition of people pouring water into the statue as they make a wish.

A beautiful place to wander through in the day and away from the crowds, a few monuments have English translations too! Definitely come back at night time to see the rows of tiny bars alive!

Really neat set of alleyways that's full of good food. A tad less busy than Dotonbori as well. Would definitely recommend strolling around here for lunch or dinner!

This alley has become a major tourist draw in Osaka, it's a narrow stone-paved alley lined with traditional Japanese izakayas, restaurants, and shops. It's especially enchanting in the evenings when the lanterns illuminate the narrow alley, creating a magical ambiance.

Located not far from Ebisu Bashi and Dotonburi, in one of the side streets of Shinsaibashi Street, this small temple is very charming, especially in the evening when the little lanterns are lit. Check my IG or TikTok @tabimawari for content about Japan & itineraries

This is a pair of narrow cobbled pedestrian lanes in the back of Dotonbori (towards Namba direction), filled with small interesting restaurants. Less commercial than the bustling Dotonbori main streets, but more fun.

Quiet alley with great restaurants. We wandered at random and came up with a great king crab leg restaurant.

An area located in the bustling Minami district, yet still retaining the peaceful atmosphere of Naniwa. Within Yokocho are long-established Japanese restaurants, bars, okonomi-yaki restaurants (Japanese pancakes) and kushi-katsu restaurants (skewers and fried meats and vegetables).

👍 Lots of good small local restaurants (many hold <10 guests). Good for individuals or couples; groups larger than 3 or 4 would have a hard time finding seats.
