Banjara
is
a
lovely
Indian
restaurant.
It
is
located
on
the
6th
floor
as
if
it
is
a
secret
hide-out!
It
has
an
authentic
decor
with
old
Bollywood
music
playing
in
the
background.
The
staff
are
attentive
and
friendly.
We
were
told
by
the
staff
that
the
decor
was
imported
all
the
way
from
India
about
20
years
ago.
Impressive!
To
our
delight,
they
offer
vindaloo
dishes
during
dinner
(A
Portuguese
dish
in
origin
but
adapted
by
the
people
of
Goa
in
India.
It's
a
fiery
hot
dish
with
lots
of
meat,
vinegar,
garlic,
and
other
spices).
This
was
a
major
plus.
We've
never
come
across
an
Indian
restaurant
that
offers
vindaloo
dishes.
We
chose
the
A-Lunch
set
¥850.
It
came
with
a
huge
naan,
rich
spinach
soup,
salad,
rice,
chicken
curry,
and
chai.
The
portions
were
just
alright,
the
taste
was
average
though.
Typical
of
most
Indian
restaurants
in
Japan.
We
had
our
curries
in
plain
and
super
hot
versions.
The
plain
chicken
curry
was
very
sweet.
The
super
hot
version
was
more
authentic.
There
were
a
few
chunks
of
meat
making
it
a
satisfying
lunch.
The
chai
was
nice
and
hot.
Adding
ginger
(adrak
chai)
or
cardamom
would
have
made
the
chai
more
exotic.
Overall,
I
would
rate
4
stars
for
the
taste
and
5
stars
for
the
friendly
service
and
ambience.
Upon
leaving,
the
staff
mentioned
about
20%
discount
for
dinner.
That
would
be
a
real
treat
particularly
when
you
visit
as
a
large
group.
Looking
forward
to
having
mutton
vindaloo
(probably
titled
as
マトンスーパーホット&ホットカレ)
and
various
kinds
of
biryani.
