At the suggestion of my friend we went there to eat pizza. I thought it was just another pizzeria but the place resulted to be amazing. The owner and chef Marco made us feel like home. The restaurant is in a countryside home surrounded by farmland. The appetizers including a pizza were amazing as well as the entrees: "surprise pasta" was the best. The tiramisu was to die for and the final touch: handmade in house limoncello. A must when back in Jarabacoa. One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever visited

The best Italian food I have ever had. The owner was most welcoming and they took the time to explain the dishes. He asked me what I liked, and then conjured up a dish. It was the best pasta I’ve ever had!!!! Some secret family recipe that was amazing. Come here and be prepared for a nouveau experience.

The pizza is very good and pasta was excellent. Nice atmosphere. Had the pasta surprise and it was superb. The other 3 members of my party had different pastas and all said it was great. The white wine and the beers also good.

Delicious food in a rustic setting. Their meats were fantastic and their sangria top notch. Not all dishes are always available.

I truly loved this place. Had a great time. Waitress was very sweet and attended all our requests. Which I also thank the kitchen for. We asked for dishes to have slight changes just because we couldn’t have specific ingredients and they accommodated the plates well. The view is crazily stunning and so relaxing in the heart of a city up in a mountain in the Dominican Republic ❤️❤️ Why 3 stars? As much as we enjoyed our time there, I had a hard time eating our main courses. We ordered appetizers that were amazingly done! But some of my Dominican friends recommended me to ask for some of them to have less salt. Since our experience with those were great I had no intentions on changing the main courses. But I felt like I had to. Great pasta! Loved the texture. Great ingredients, loved the fresh and crunchy shrimps. But we had a hard time with the seasoning of the pasta dishes that had many garlic or tomato sauce involved. I hope they change this since it is a great place and those dishes were great just needed some balance there. Less garlic and the tomato sauce more diluted maybe. The ones who ordered those heavy seasoned dishes had their stomach a little upset later that day. Repeating garlic is no fun either. But we know it was just the over seasoning the issue here. I am definitely coming back here. Will try asking for adjustments on the dishes this time. It is just a place to be while in the northern area of the country!!

I felt like I was in Italy… but I was really in the best authentic Italian restaurant in the Dominican Republic!

Very nice place with high quality food. They don’t accept credit/debit, so arrive with cash.

First time coming to La Baita. This is a extraordinary restaurant, the service is excellent, atmosphere is quiet and the food is out of this world.

3.5 stars Positive Experiences: 1- The restaurant setting is beautifully cozy and inviting. 2 - The pizza was pretty good, much to my daughter's delight. 3 - My wife enjoyed the taste of her pasta dish. 4 - The strawberry juice was excellent, leaving a positive impression. Negative Experiences: 1 - The piña colada was bland, lacking essential ingredients. 2 - The Sangria received similar feedback from my wife. 3 - The risotto was overwhelmingly salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Service Experience: Our waitress appeared tired and disinterested, detracting from the overall dining experience.

Great little restaurant. Pizza was delicious the crust was thin and well cooked. They had a great selections of dishes including handmade pasta. I ordered a pizza with mushrooms and arugula and I wsd not disappointed the pizza was delicious. Definetly a place that i will go back.

Just looked at the recent menu. This is a five star place that should be given at least a one star Michelin rating. I have been going here for some 40 years. I never been disappointed and am looking forward to seeing Oscar and his crew again in February. Try, you will not be surprised.

Cute little restaurant a mile or so out of town. Italian proprietor, very friendly and outgoing. Extensive menu of pastas (and other things) and an amazing primitivo on the wine list

La Baita was one of the highlights of our trip to Jarabacoa! It was highly recommended to us by the host of our hostel so we gave it a try and loved it so much we went back again the next night. The service, the food, the VIEW! It’s hard to choose what aspect we enjoyed more but combine the three and it’s a dinner you’ll never forget. Chef Marco was welcoming and cooked us an amazing pasta dish. 10/10 - this is a must when traveling to Jarabacoa!

Incredible experience, went with a group of 6 and each dish was fantastic! Authentic Italian food with a beautiful setting. The natural juices were a little on the pricey side but the entrees are very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend!

😠 Go, take a picture of the view, a picture of yourself with the town on the back, buy a drink if you feel embarrassed, and go back to town. Service and food are horrendous, and expensive. View, place, and drinks are really good.
