The RAPID test performed by the nurse I can barely feel it touching the inside of my nose. I don't feel confident on the result. Then I had to wait for the Doctor to perform the PCR test after that. I mentioned it to Doctor and he seemed very impatient and gave me a quick response that he can assure me it's fine. Then it took him a few seconds to finish the PCR test and left. The RAPID test result is supposed to come back in 15 minutes but it took over 1.5 hours to get the email.

Poor service and unprofessional advice. I had severe sleep issues that impacted my daily functions. My complaints were grossly dismissed and no serious effort given in helping me. The advice I received from the Doctor: “have you thought about moving your baby to a different room?” Sad. Don’t waste you time or money.

I went in for a COVID test in Jul 2020. I received a bill for it at the end of August 2022. The total amount is overpriced compared to other service providers. I no longer have the same insurance company, so now I have to try to chase it down and see what is covered. Thanks a lot CityMD, even if I have the plague I'll avoid you.

Please do not go here. Let me start with they are rude at the front desk and make you announce why you are there in front of everyone. My boyfriend went first he had abdominal pain and some other symptoms they profiled him and told him he has an STD and tried to call him in a prescription before getting any results. They misdiagnosed him and didn’t even “bother” testing his urine sample. I went yesterday for a UTI that I was sure spread to my kidney because I’ve experienced it. The physicians assistant told me I had appendicitis and was very rude and dismissive. She sent me to the hospital and wasted my time because it was indeed a kidney infection. Please do not go here they are unprofessional and misdiagnose people often. They are also racist and make assumptions based on that.

Everyone was very helpful and nice, and things went smoothly when I went to CitiMD on Grove St in Jersey City last Wednesday. HOWEVER no one ever called me with the results; no message no email, even though everything was “in order” and all my info in place. I had the rapid test and was told I would get results within two or three hrs. NOTHING.

Waited 30 min to get into a room, then additional 20 min for using a restroom for urine analysis, doctor came after 15 min and informed we need to go to ER for acute migraine pain. We could have gone to the ER directly instead of wasting time during pain.

I've been here twice, the first time was a very pleasant experience, the second time was today, and was not great. The doctor who saw me was super condescending, and they still havent called in my prescription to the pharmacy although its been over an hour, and of course no one is answering the phone. Update: I went here again recently bc they were the only place open and Anita shah is the worst “medical” professional I have ever visited with anyone. Would rather go to an emergency room or wait until next day rather than coming here again.

Extremely low efficiency. I came in for a bad allergy around 3:30pm on a Wednesday. Waited an hour and I still didn’t seen the doctor. There was literally just 3-4 people in the waiting area. I live in Manhattan and I have been to a few different locations in the city. This cityMD is by far the slowest.

Receptionist and doctors assistant were lovely, helpful and friendly. The doctor however was cold and seemed like he couldn’t be bothered, even made me feel stupid for a question I asked. Would never go back to this location. Don’t be in health care if you can’t be bothered by your patients

They keep telling me the doctor will be in in a minute. So far an hour and a half has gone by and no doctor. They of course did not warn me about any kind of wait, stuck me in a hot room, and already took my copay.

I was blown away with how professional and caring all of the staff was when I came in February 2023! The front staff, Alanena and Jane, were so kind and patient, as they guided me on how to properly check in. The scribe who took my vitals, Catherine, was so personable and detailed in understanding my symptoms. And the PA, Sameelah Reed, was just incredibly compassionate. I’m beyond impressed with the entire team at this location! It’s awful going anywhere when you aren’t feeling good… but the staff here just made everything so easy. Wow… just wow!

Horrendous patient / customer service. I requested a simple Xray report, literally 1 page of medical records, for a patient. But apparently they have a policy where you can only physically pick up medical records in person. They are unable or unwilling to email, fax, or otherwise send medical information. Even the patient couldn't get them to send the report to her. They wouldn't even upload it to their patient portal where you would expect to find this information. They're making this patient, who is recovering from a foot injury and has difficulty on their feet, physically walk to the location to pick up this one piece of paper. I looked online and apparently there is a form we probably could have filled out so that this request would be in line with CityMD's policies (the auth. for release of medical info). But the 2 people we spoke to on the phone did not tell us about this at all. They were curt when telling us the patient would have to walk to them to pick up this one piece of paper. Never in my life have I encountered a medical facility that lacked the ability to fax or email. Bonkers stuff.

This location is a bunch of crooks. They turn people away by telling them that it will cost $50 for a PCR test. I called up my health insurance shortly after i got home and found out that my health insurance fully covers it and that city MD shouldn't be charging us at all for the test. I'm not sure what they are doing.

Long wait even if no patients are waiting. Not professional at all… I was self tested positive for covid and have all symptoms, but their pcr exam returns negative…..

Those negative reviews are fake! Have you tried going to the ER? Wait 5 plus hours? Nasty attitudes? It’s not supposed to be a high luxury spa. It’s an urgent care! I’ve been to City MD Grove street and received excellent service both times I was there. Once August and second time today. I didn’t wait more than 20 minutes both occasions. Both times the receptionists were friendly and kind. The doctors and nurses were caring and nice.

Rushed service. Waited 2 hours to be seen and the doctor took all of 5 minutes to assess an underlying issue. Didn't seem right and I left knowing it wasn't addressed correctly so I went to another provider which was able to properly assess me. I think the doctor must have been in a rush to go home since it was near closing time, despite me waiting over 2 hours. Oh yeah, they charge $300 for a visit too, which is more than most high end hospitals in NYC. The staff confirmed my insurance was in network (I also looked on the site which lists it as in network) and I was billed out of network for the full amount. Had to resolve it with my insurance provider afterwards.

Came for knee fall and bandaging from the run yesterday - was >30 minutes wait to have doctor come in, and also there was one patient ahead even then. The person who came in for questions and initial checks before, couldn’t help with dressing - had to wait for the doctor. Why can’t we train nurses or PA or others to do the dressing? Should be a quick urgent care visit. They also did a shoddy job at the dressing! Just wrapped some gauze and the bandage roll was also not tied properly. Last time, I went to city md at upper east side in nyc and they did a great job at the dressing so had high expectation.

I always prepare for a long wait time at urgent care (this time was 1.5 hours), but I was really disappointed to wait all that time just to be seen by a doctor who said "I'd see your primary." When I asked "this is nothing serious, right?" regarding my injury the doctor said "here at urgent care we can only help you with symptoms, I can't tell you whether anything is serious or not." Which just blew my mind. Don't think I'll be returning.

Should have went with my gut feeling to go to the City MD in journal square. I left the same way I walked in...sick! No remedy no anything. Vitals were taken at the end of the visit Dr. Didn't even examine me properly. Just offered mouth wash for sore throat and anti nausea medication. Made a comment about being fever free for 24 hours, I had fever all morning until I could have dragged myself here. Doctor hasn't even known me 24hrs. Thermometer wasn't fully under my tongue to get an accurate reading. Sad just sad how the Healthcare system keeps failing. No wonder covid is still running rampant.

Don’t come here if you actually want to be seen and get a covid test. I called ahead of time to see how long the wait is and the receptionist said 30 minutes but I had to come in to be put on the list. Once I get there (15 minutes later) she tells me they’re no longer taking appts. Why tell me to come just to say you’re not taking appointments anymore. Absolutely horrible receptionist/customer service

This is the best urgent care I have ever visited! The front desk staff is warm and friendly, and the physicians/assistants are knowledgeable and down to earth. I feel taken care of when I come here and I truly appreciate it.

It was a brief encounter! So, not much to say! A helpful alternative when your personal MD is not around and a great alternative than to go to ER where you have to pay deductibles of thousands of dollars! Best part is, I got better and less suffering when your health is being challenge! Thanks to all the great and helpful staff! By the way, I haven’t got my bill yet, so let’s see! Lol! Oh! I am not that techy but was offered the traditional way of filling up the form and it was still a smooth process.

Absolutely useless health advise. Talking to patients as if we are a 5 years old child, telling me to use halls for throat soreness and OTC medication, and then will receive a bill for that???? Really???? Absolutely useless and insulting.

I went to City MD at 7:00 PM because I had seen that they closed at 8:00PM and that's why I went in advance, I don't know why they took 1 hour to see me, after the consultation, they decided to extract blood, I DON'T KNOW IF THEY SENT A PERSON TO ME FROM RAMDON ,THE PERSON WHO WENT TO DRAW BLOOD FROM ME DID NOT HAVE A UNIFORM ,AND HAD THE LONGEST NAILS I'VE EVER SEEN, I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST LONG NAILS (BUT HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT A PERSON I HOPE SHE HAS REALLY BEEN A NURSE) HAS NAILS SO LONG, SHE COULD NOT EVEN HANDLE THE INSTRUMENTS, IT COST HER TO UNCOVER THE SYRINGE, OTHER THAN THAT WHEN A PSEROSNA HAS SUCH LONG NAILS THE GLOVES DO NOT FIT THEM. AND IF THE REASON FOR WHICH THEY SENT THIS PERSON TO ME WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE CLOSING, I REMIND YOU THAT I ARRIVE AN HOUR BEFORE. ALSO SHE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES .

Dr. Shah was awesome - super friendly, knowledgable...and she took time to answer all my questions. The Physician's Assistant also provided great customer service as well. I can always reliably count on this CityMD to be clean, efficient and friendly, from the front desk team to the medical team. Highly recommend them; they are a a GEM in Jersey City!

I went to visit along with my toddler, we both got checked and it was really great to see a wonderful doctor on a Saturday afternoon. I won’t hesitate to bring her in again if needed. Def recommend this location.

I do not recommend this urgent care, went there with a daughter because of her cough and MD named Anuja Shah questioned me why i picked this place to visit if its not an emergency. The reason is because its sunday and our pediatrician is on vacation. We have been to hoboken location and nevee had this problem. Never again!! And this MD should change her attitude for little ones.

The doctor on duty on the day of my visit honestly is the true definition of what the practice defines . You helped me when I couldn’t help my self doc. As I right this with tears in my eyes I would never forget what you did for me . I would never forget your concern your kindness towards me . You are one in a BILLION doc and I just want to say thank you I was there October 1st. The female doctor on duty you are a TRUE MVP. Thank you doc and I will always have you in my heart 💜. I wish you n yours the best . Thanks 🙏🏼 again .

My child’s pediatrician is not available indefinitely. I googled doctors near me who take my insurance and CityMD is closest. There was a little extra waiting time due to their computer had gone down but , the visit was pleasant. The receptionist’s were all helpful and kind. The attending doctor was very informative and nice.

Like others who have left reviews here, I went in for a COVID test in 2020. I provided insurance information when I arrived. CityMD failed to bill my insurance or me until then sent me the bill in the fall of 2022. I asked them what it was for since I had not been there recently. They said it was from 2020 and I had to pay out of pocket. I communicated I had insurance that they should have billed and they said it was too late to bill insurance since so much time passed. They are now threatening to send it to collections, but it is their billing teams' responsibility to bill to insurance at the time of service-- not two+ years later. The staff at the location were all very nice. This review is about corporate billing department and unethical billing practices.

I’ve made a couple of visits to CityMD, and in my experience the staff has been really helpful. The check-in process and wait is pleasant enough, even when it’s lengthy (given the number of patients who walk in). Special thanks to Santa at the front desk, who was cheerful and welcoming to patients even as she managed high demand and phone calls. Not easy I imagine!

I asked about a flu shot and was told to come by, even though it was near closing time. The staff was kind, friendly, helpful. They asked me to be patient, leading me to believe I'd have a long wait, and yet I was seen within 10 minutes. The doctor was knowledgeable and good with the shot. A little kindness goes a long way, especially when it's in such short supply these days, and the staff here was really nice. I'd go back again.

  • 5/5 John L. 1 year ago on Google
The intake process as a new patient was smooth and easy, using the check-in iPads mounted on the wall of the waiting room. Luckily, I'm super comfortable with technology, though I can imagine that someone less so might not necessarily have had as pleasant an experience as I. Luckily, I arrived with a fairly empty waiting room, as well, so it wasn't more than 15 minutes between my saying Hello to the reception staff and being summoned in to be seen. I had a digital-only copy of the health insurance card, which I struggled to email them a copy of, but they were super accommodating and we got it sorted quickly. They discharged me with a printout summary of the visit and doctor's directions, and I received a follow-up email with a registration to a portal with my records… again, something I appreciate, as I'm very comfortable with a digital-forward patient experience. Would definitely return should the need (hopefully not 😉) arise.

“Sh*tty MD” aka. City MD does not care about their patients, all they care about is how much $$$ they can squeeze out of people. Not helpful, unprofessional, stay away! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Dr. Eric had great bedside manner, and Jane at the front desk has excellent people skills, and got my CT scan the Dr. Referred in the same afternoon. Good team work. High scores.

Very very slow and inefficient. There is only 1 physician and you have to wait for more than 90 minutes. While waiting people show up and magically they get in front of you skipping the lane. This place used to be good, if possible avoid it!

The only negative thing was the long wait time. I can understand that because the rise in cases it is for everybody's safety. Everyone that work there was very friendly and willing to help. They answered all my questions and my concerns. Thank you to all the ladies and gentlemen and City MD. I appreciate you guys.

Wanted to do a COVID test, got to the place at 9:40am to get in the waitlist - received the text 3 hours later, got back, signed up, and waited another 2 hours for my turn…

This place is a complete joke don’t bother coming here. We can yesterday at 9 am I was so sick and they said wait for seeing a doctor and COVID test was 2 hours which is ridiculous to begin with especially when I have an emergency and am extremely sick. We put our names down we did not get a message until 6 hours later that is very different from 2 hours they quoted us. Good thing we went to promt md faster service and more effficient

This place is horrible I tried to come in to get a covid test and they refuse me because I had my electric scooter. How are we going to control covid if places like these refuse you? What a joke of a place and I never felt so angry in my life?!
