I
am
very
disappointed
in
Vanguard
Medical
group.
I
was
in
several
times
because
I
want
to
change
from
one
birth
control
method
to
another.
Since
contraception
is
considered
preventive
care,
I
was
expecting
everything
to
be
free
of
charge.
I
had
my
under-arm
implant
removed,
and
went
back
so
the
doctor
can
prescribe
me
birth
control
pills.
I
was
charged
82
dollars
for
this
office
visit
instead
of
my
plan
paying
fully
because
the
doctor
asked
how
the
implant
removal
incision
wound
is
doing
and
I
showed
her
it
is
fine
-
they
billed
this
as
not
preventive
and
thus
the
whole
visit
is
not
covered.
I
called
the
insurance
company
and
they
were
very
nice
to
call
the
billing
department
of
Vanguard
to
ask
them
to
resubmit
the
office
visit
bill
with
the
preventive
code
(contraception
related)
so
my
insurance
can
cover
it
in
full
and
I
don’t
have
to
pay.
Guess
what?
Vanguard
refused
and
insists
that
I
have
to
pay
for
that
82
dollars
instead
of
some
big
corporation
with
a
pool
of
money
on
hand
—
and
they
even
offered
to
cover
that!
This
is
not
about
whether
I
am
able
to
afford
82
dollars
or
not,
but
that
I
should
not
pay
for
something
I
was
not
supposed
to
owe
in
the
first
place!
When
I
had
my
annual
here,
they
gave
me
a
sheet
to
sign
acknowledging
that
if
I
bring
up
any
“problems”,
the
annual
visit
would
be
charged
-
thought
annual
is
for
identifying
possible
illness
instead
of
hiding
them,
but
okay
fine
since
I
did
not
have
any
issue.
But
for
this
contraception
visit,
I
was
not
told
that
even
if
the
wound
is
fine,
I
have
to
be
charged
for
a
non-preventive
“problem”
simply
because
the
doctor
asked.
Had
I
known,
I
would
have
hidden
the
arm
from
the
doctor
and
not
let
her
look
at
it
for
even
1
second.
