Great coffee place / cafe that sever a few great sandwich choices and breakfast/brunch items that are very delicious. The coffee is always made fresh and it tastes very good. They have a few seating tables inside and it not really busy if you want to enjoy a coffee while reading a book. It’s packed with school kids in the morning from the nearby Jersey City school.

Extremely friendly father and son team who make a very solid BEC. Dunno who does their rolls but they're quite good. Very tasty, check'em out!!

I stopped here for breakfast on my last visit to the area, and I liked it so much I made sure to come back this time! Delicious food and coffee, a delightful owner, and located in a sweet neighborhood. While I was eating there today, several other customers came in, all clearly regulars with a love for this place. If I lived in the area, I would be one of them too!

I've lived in Downtown Jersey City for 10yrs, and have seen Chris reinvent this place a couple of times. Now as a father - son team with a perfectly short menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, coffee and juice/smoothies, Chris continues to bring that eclectic neighborhood feel that fits perfectly with the DTJC vibe. Stopping by for one of his scrumptious egg sandwiches (I prefer sausage egg & cheese) and seeing their familiar, friendly faces is a great way to start the day. Keep Legal Grounds above ground! ✌️

I feel guilty for reviewing this gem so late. The cashier that runs the counter and doubles up as the cook is great and the kaiser rolls are amazing. I could have breakfast here everyday.

What a great way to start my morning. I stumbled upon the place, walked it to the most welcoming father & son team and had the best dang bacon, egg & cheese sandwich with coffee. You can tell it's a local favorite by all the costomers. It's my new go to place!

Friendly service and good food! I ordered their decaf soy latte and it proved to be great! My friends got breakfast plate and bagels, they love their food too. You can also customize it a little, request light butter or/and oil. The price is also reasonable. Would love to come back again.

I love this place! I’ve always had great service and the food is good. You can call in orders which is very convenient. They also serve Wonder Bagels so you can skip that line and come here. This is our go-to breakfast spot!

Nestled in a cute neighborhood, is an equally cute cafe. They offer a decent variety of tea and coffee, as well as a plethora of delicious sandwiches. I tried the Tiger Spice Chai tea iced with soy milk and it was amazing! They have seating in the front window and an outdoor seating area. And to top it all off, free wifi! This place is definitely going in my favorites.

Good little spot on Grand St. Up the block from St Peter's Prep. Good coffee, good breakfast platters and sandwiches. I work in the area and this is my go to spot. The only thing is Monday thru Friday you need to watch for the school rush in the morning. But even with they handle the rush good never wait more then 5 to 8 mins for an order. Really good spot highly recommended.

I rarely rate anyone that High but these guys deserve it. They are very friendly and the breakfast food is delicious. They serve coffee from different regions so you can try and find a fix that works for you. The owner is also a down-to-earth genuine guy who spends time to talk to his customers. It gets crowded on weekend mornings for breakfast but they are very quick. Note this is more of a take out place than dine in.

This place is one of those well kept secrets that's slowly but surely having the lid blown off by positive reviews - and I'm going to contribute to that. The breakfast sandwiches here are nice and tasty - the bagels are great, and the meat is grilled just right. As an added bonus, you don't have to wait in a line that wraps outside the restaurant and around the corner. Every time I order from here (I usually go pork roll egg and cheese on an everything bagel, a staple of the New Jersey diet), I call ahead and have always been able to walk right in, right up to the counter, and grab my order. No waiting necessary - and who wants to stand and wait when you're just trying to get breakfast? I haven't had their coffee or much else of their food offerings, but like I said, the breakfast sandwiches are good and I think Legal Grounds is probably my go-to for that reason.

Such a cute cafe with absolutely adorable interiors. Coffee is insanely good- better than Starbucks! We also got the banana bread and its one of the really good ones I have eaten in a long time!!The barista was great! A definite place to come for a coffee and a light bite and just hang!

3 stars because I typically like them but the most recent time I went prompted this review. I always get ham and cheese on a roll, but not one piece of ham and a little cheese on a roll. Don't skimp your customers!
