This is near to the fort gate and it opens in the morning around 6am. There is a security and it is well maintained. There is a shiva temple inside the campus.

Ranisar and Padamsar are two twin lakes which are separated by a wall and situated within the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur. Padamsar is dirty while ranisar is Fort property so is cleaner. You can visit the lakes from mehrangarh fort road. Places are fine to visit, though view is beautiful.

If you are here in the city after the festival тАЬDiwaliтАЭ, then you need to come to this place in the evening hours on the full moon day 15 days after Diwali, cause this place is lit by more thousand oil lamps, (diya) which are donated by people from all around the city. This place is in the interiors of the city and is very well kept. How to get here? Please take two wheelers or tuk-tuk (autoriksaw) as this place is narrow to get there by four wheeler. Very well carved steps almost resembling the stair system in stepwells. This place is picturesque as you have the Mammoth fort on the back drop.

Oldest twin Lake of Jodhpur, Ranisar and Padamsar. Both are built-up in olden Medival era for Queens Bath in Mehrangarh Fort and also as a Water storage tank.

(Translated by Google) Ranisar and Padmasar lakes Many lakes in Jodhpur are famous for their architecture. Ranisar and Padmasar lakes are added to this list. These two lakes were built near Fateh Pole in Mehrangada and are very close to each other. Both of these ponds were built in 1949. The story behind the creation of these ponds is of great color. Rani Jodha, wife of King Rao Jodha, created this lake as 'Raniisar Lake', while Padmasara Lake was created by Rani Padmini by Rani Ganga as 'Padmasara Lake'. The construction of both these ponds is worth seeing. Many birds are also seen. The road coming here, however, is very unclean and has passed through the town. So no big vehicle can come to this place. The lake has a beautiful view of the back of the Mehrangada. It opens only after 4 o clock and a good place to visit where you get to see the entire city inner views like the traditional and the view of blue city while you travel through the route. There is next to it padamsar as well which is open entire day.

The Ranisar and Padamsar lakes are two adjoining lakes in the city of Jodhpur built over 500 years ago. They are situated at the rear of the Mehrangarh Fort, near the Fateh Pol. These scenic lakes were created to conserve water, as Jodhpur falls under a desert region where water is scarce. The tranquillity of these adjacent lakes is complemented brilliantly by the stark contrast of the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, making it a sight to behold.
