The hotel room was nice, tidy, and roomy. Several different foods are available for breakfast. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. The position is ideal for a stroll into the city's core. Everything about this hotel was excellent. I heartily urge anyone travelling to the city to stay at this resort.

I stayed here for 2 nights, a clean hotel, a nice breakfast, and a few shopping malls in walking distance. Parking facilities are also good, but don't wrongly park at the wrong tower. Because in the same building there are 2 towers. Make sure u park nearly the hotel lift/tower. The receptionist was very helpful and guided me very well.

Stayed for 2 nights and I must say that the service is excellent, had a warm welcome by the staff upon entering the hotel. :) Love that there is a kids area next to check in counter so they can keep themselves entertained while waiting for check in, and complimentary drinks are also provided in the lobby. Room is spacious and clean. Location is great, walkable distance to malls and food streets. Some down sides are that I really really wish there were towel racks in the bathroom. Also, upon checking in, my bed sheets smelled a little weird (doesn't smell fresh) and there were some dust on it. However the smell wasn't that unbearable so I just let it go. Overall, my family and I had an enjoyable time and we appreciate the warm and lovely hospitality from every staff we encountered here. 10/10 will return again!πŸ‘πŸ»Thank you team for making this a memorable stay for my family and I!

Right beside Komtar, so everything you would probably be interested in (Shopping, Thai massages, and late night karaoke) is just a short walk away. The room and service was fantastic. Breakfast was amazing, the spread was gorgeous and we were not bored for the 2 meals we had there. The Executive Lounge was also great, the cocktails kept on coming and the light bites were delicious as well!

One of the best stays for us in Malaysia. The service, quality of rooms, ambience, courtesy & cleanliness, most of it has been at epitome. Highly recommend for stay with family or couple or business. Best part is it’s closest to the city malls, restaurants, night market, shops.

Good value for money. Walking distance to Komtar and several shops including 7-11 at Zenith, the ground floor shopping of the building. The room is clean, specious and fairly new. The breakfast is good but I won’t say it’s the best in JB. No complaint but no significant feature that would drive me to come again.

I was really impressed with Amari in JB. The bed was really comfortable, the room was very clean and well-appointed, but what stood out the most to me was the staff. The staff at Amari are incredible. They seem to have more than enough staff and all of them are super friendly, cheerful, and helpful. I was almost a bit overwhelmed by how many staff greeted me, said good morning, or offered to get my something. The happy hour that comes with the executive room is also really cool. It's a great way to unwind at the end of the day with a drink, some snacks, and a nice view of the city. There's a Holiday Inn not far from Amari that is significantly more expensive and you'd have to be insane to go to the Holiday Inn over Amari. Support a great local hotel chain and stay at Amari. you won't regret it.

I used to check-in regularly into this one hotel for its convenient location and amenities nearby. But on my recent trip over to JB, I was forced to change my mind. Never mind the fact that it was a little pricier than most hotels near by, but to the very least I expected the basic facilities to be fully functioning. Bathroom - The bathroom ceiling shower head was dangling, the drain kept choking up from just less than a minute of water usage. The cups seemed unwashed with stains on them. Bedroom - Thermostat was barely working properly with the air conditioning blasting out at freezing temperatures despite setting it to higher temperatures. The wall outlets are very loose as shown in one of the photos. The front door lock was uncovered and seemed damaged, I had to tap my key card several times before it started working again. Other notes - The staff were really nice! For the price I paid and the experience I had, I have to say I'm really disappointed with the facilities now, and I'm pretty sure you can get better experience at lower price points nearby. Won't be returning anymore.

Room looks OK on the surface, but air conditioning cannot b adjusted despite having a thermostat control in the room. Temperature was too cold despite setting to 25C. Hot/Cold water in the shower was very difficult to get right...its either too hot or too cold and takes a long time to adjust either way. Room cleanliness ok but towels all had stains on then. The only thing we liked about the hotel is the location the friendly staff and the big rooms

Had a pleasant stay, room is clean and comfortable. Parking is chargeable which i hope is it complimentary. Booked two rooms although we came with 1 car, parking was charged for 2 rooms, however it was sorted out smoothly. Breakfast buffet spread has not much varieties and slow refill but wasnt a major issue. Room interiors including lobby, washrooms and coffee house are trendy and stylish, widely used wooden fixtures, love the style. I also like 2 sided warddrobes which can be opened from bed side or powder room side, very creative idea. Worth to return if i visit Jb again.

We hosted our Chinese wedding at Amari Hotel in July 2023. We weren't familiar with Amari so it wasn't at the top of the list at first to consider it as our wedding venue until we visited the hotel. We decided to go with Amari because, - The hotel FOH is very well-maintained and feels comfortable for guests to stay at. - Most importantly, Amari is the only hotel we visited that could provide us a hall in lieu of meeting room for a group size of 100 people. Our wedding event was very successful and we received many positive reviews from our guests on the banquet and hotel's hospitality during their stay. - Hall is presentable with new carpet, audio and lighting system - Pre-reception food was delicious especially the seafood pie. - Banquet food overall tasted good and fish served was fresh as well. - Vegetarian guest was very impressed by the food presentation and taste of vegetarian dishes. - Hotel staffs are very friendly, helpful and polite. - Breakfast buffet has many varieties, is delicious and music is good. Once again, I am grateful for John and team's effort to bring this event together successfully. Thank you!

Almost perfect for the price point. Good location near malls and has an alternate route in for private hire cars to avoid all the jams. Service staff were prompt and friendly when checking in and out. Rooms were spacious with expected amenities. Constant warm water with good pressure while showering. Good variety of dishes for breakfast buffet.

Room was nice. clean and spacious. Breakfast was good with a wide variety. Probably the first time I've seen a hotel breakfast in Malaysia with the Chef making fresh Roti Canai instead of the instant variety. Service was excellent and everyone seemed to make it a point to greet you with a smile whenever you walked past them. Our pool view room was also facing the adjacent property, which was not too pleasant. The pool was a decent size with a separate wading area for children. Would definitely consider staying here again, probably in a different room category with a different view.

This was my first time in this hotel. I loved everything abt this place. Their customer service and their hospitality. 5 stars. I traveled with my parents so I needed a connecting room. They made sure I got it. For those who is driving an EV car, the parking lot has a paid EV charging spot. Will go again.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff and how they treat you. Very welcoming, very helpful and friendly. The room is clean, with enough space to move about and enough storage. The bed and pillows are not the best but comfortable. We didn't try out the pool, it looks okay tho. The gym had enough equipment but we didn't try it as well. We did enjoy the breakfast spread. There were a lot of choice. My favorite was lemang & lontong. The hotel location is good, you can walk to CIQ. There's also quite a lot of restaurants nearby and a 7-11 just next door. Overall, we are satisfied with our stay. Recommended!

I have stayed at dozen of hotels in Johor Bahru and this was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. The staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. One of the best services I have received. Really appreciate the mini decoration and the cake the hotel staff prepared for my birthday celebration!! Thank you so much ☺️

The Amari is a great choice of hotel as the staff go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. The location is excellent as it is close to shopping centres and the main transport hub. The breakfast buffet covers all food choices and everything is freshly prepared. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with great decor.

I always choose to stay at this hotel for my staycations from Singapore because of its proximity to the checkpoint and the convenience of the nearby malls. The hotel and rooms are spacious and clean, making for a comfortable stay. The staff, including the front desk and housekeeping, are all very friendly and welcoming. While the price is generally affordable, it can be quite high during holidays due to the influx of Singaporeans and Malaysians from other states. However, the breakfast is always good with plenty of choices and a wide spread. Parking is easily accessible within the same building, and while you need to get a coupon before leaving the car park, it is hassle-free since you can redeem it from the machine at the hotel lobby. Overall, my stay was great as always. My only wish is that they had a system to recognize return guests, as I have stayed there multiple times.

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with modern amenities and sleek decor. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the hotel’s facilities are top-notch, including a beautiful pool and a well-equipped fitness center. One of the standout features of the hotel is its fantastic location, right in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance of some great restaurants, shops, and attractions. Definitely a great choice for your next JB trip!

The room condition is poorly maintained compared to pre covid times. Stain found on bed frame and bed side table, bedsheet with hair and bathroom mouldy walls.. it’s just poorly maintained in the past two years. Although I received a change of room, but it’s not any significant difference except the furnitures doesn’t have stain and bedsheet has lesser hair. Please, time for renovation. TV didn’t have any connectivity or wifi for the whole of 16 April and was only able to watch tv in the night. I was also charged parking fee of 20RM for 2 days for the first time on the reason that the booking was made through third party provider - Agoda which never happened before pre covid times Hence be aware of these hidden charges. Above all the nightmare, at least there is a positive experience which is the service received from the concierge - Casey for always carrying a smile, helpful, observant and carrying an excellent attitude anytime of the day.

Comfortable room, pillows of different thickness for individual preferences. Clean and spacious. Good location. But need to pay for carpark at $10 per day if book the room through Apps. Everything was good except the breakfast buffet can give it a miss. Has variety and look good, but taste is a mere..

Me and my best friend visited Amari Watergate Bangkok on 7th September 2023. Checked out and back to Singapore safely on 10th September 2023. I was so amazed by the quality service & warmest welcome by all the hotel staffs. They shown their biggest efforts to help us ( as foreigners / tourists ) as actually we were worried and affected by recent news reflected on social medias. We booked the transportation provided by hotel to pick us up from airport on day 1 upon our arrival and last day from Amira Watergate to airport. I feel blessed to be picked up by formal wearing drivers with polite attitude , of course the cars which they used to fetching us are in neat & clean condition. I’m satisfied with the entire room environment, cleanliness and the cozy vibes of the room. I had 3 nights of good sleep. Breakfast provided was great and with all kinds of cuisines you can ever think of! Cannot be described how I love this hotel and how I was appreciated and touched by all the staffs that give us recommendations & helps! They greet to every single customer whenever they see us. Last but not least, I would like to thank Mr Tem ( heard is their manager ). I have seek for his helps for times. He is patience to understand what was our needs. And gave us the sincere advices and answers that we were required. Wonderful stays! Definitely will choose Amira Watergate again when we are back to Bangkok in the future 😊😊😊😊

Wanted to get 2 more plain water bottle..very thirsty already finish up mine in the room during arrival. Tried to call the reception BUT UNFORTUNATELY NOBODY PICKED UP!!! This hotel I don’t think is a 5 star hotel…should be 3 star only. Not service oriented enough since checking in till date. For the price and star rating I can find a better hotel in Johor Bahru. Thanks you!!! Will not return.

Sufri, duty manager (and his team) was percent at service recovery. The mishap happened when we visited Dip Bar and was ignored for 10-15 min by their staff despite waving for attention. Sufri and team did an excellent job at service recovery and even personally met up for an apology. Breakfast spread was great and extensive, offering international to Malaysian cuisine. There was even a live band in the morning (great singing too). Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Carpets in the hotel looked dated. Location is excellent. Check-in lobby was grand and nicely decorated with Xmas mood.

We can only recommend Amari. Only the immediate area is suitable for walking around. Otherwise there are many highways and dead ends. The rooms were good for the standard but not very special. But the breakfast was very special: there was chinese, indian, malay and western food/cuisine. Rarely have I had such a large selection. Was super tasty! Minus-point was, you could only smoke on the street in front of the hotel. :(

I had a short stay at amari, and i absolutely love the experience. They upgraded me to a king executive deluxe room for my birthday. The room is spacious, clean. The beds are not high. The hotel has an entertainment room and a library opened 24/7, so you can step in to enjoy a game of pool or soccer table, or chill and read. The breakfast buffet has a widespread of local variety, ranging from chinese cuisine, to indian, and malay cuisine. The food quality are great and i highly recommended their morning breakfast buffet. Overall, great room, great service, great buffet. 5 stars no doubt.

Customer service was very good - almost all staff greeted us whenever they saw us and they were always welcoming, friendly and pleasant. This made interactions with staff very pleasant. Breakfast area was nice. Room was a bit dusty and i gave feedback to reception. One thing to improve would be the water pressure in the room - the water pressure and flow in the shower was poor. Other than that, a comfortable and pleasant stay. Thank you

It’s our second time staying here, and we really enjoyed it. We appreciate the staff’s attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism throughout our stay. Two staff helped my son and I to get a table for breakfast and they also helped to put the sign indicating the table is occupied. Food was delicious as always. Surprised to see two different types of porridges and the kacang pool tasted great! Our room was overall clean, although the sliding doors were dated and it was very hard to unlock the bathroom door. Apart from that, everything was okay πŸ‘πŸΌ will like to return again! Thank you to the staff and management of Amari Hotel.

Toilet bowl was terribly dirty with black mould stains that we do not expect from a 5 star hotel. Utterly disappointed as even 3 star hotels could provide better toilet cleanliness. Shower head was dirty. There was no hot water until we called up housekeeping a couple of times to get it fixed. Turned out, the water was not that warm, not hot in the end. We had to make do with it. Dissappointing 5 star hotel stay ever.

  • 2/5 Chloe Y. 1 year ago on Google
Not recommended. It’s not clean at all. The bed sheets were obviously dirty, dusty almost everywhere. I decided to shorten my stay immediately walked in my room. I checked in for 2 nights And The hotel wouldn’t let me modify it to one night. I then asked to upgrade my room using the amount I paid for two nights. They moved me to a so called executive floor. 2 floors above my original room and everything else is exactly the same. Same tiny & DUSTY room, no breakfast no nothing. So I basically just spent twice as much to stay in the same room that I can’t wait to get out of…. I slept on the covers that night with long sleeves and pants on.

Ramadhan buffet was not up to our expectations, as the food choices weren't much of varieties for that price. We were quite disappointed with the buffet spread. We were told that there was supposed to be an international buffet, however we were surprised to see that almost all dishes were just ordinary local cuisines. we wished to at least see something out of our everyday home foods. Having said that, the ambience was so pleasant, and your hotel room considered one of the best we've ever stayed. We somehow have to state that the ramadhan buffet was a bit of a shock to us. Sorry, but these are just my 2 cents.

Amari Johor Bahru is one of the best hotel in the city. It is the only hotel that have a room that access direct to the pool within the city. Check it time is supposed to be 2pm but we have to wait until 3pm to get the keys because the room is not ready. Mind you its on a weekday with no crowd. Boyfriend schedule a nice dinner and the hotel promised unlimited cocktails from 5pm-7pm. But only beer/tequila/wine/gin are available. No rum no brandy no whisky, which are the must haves for cocktails. The dinner was very sad too because we were supposed to celebrate our anniversary but there's only one type of red wine sold (shiraz only) and we've already had the same wine earlier during our cocktail session. Our soup and main course took so long to arrive after our starters and there's only us in the restaurant. We even reserved prior and they were told by us what we want, beef medium rare and lamb medium. Its not like they need an hour to prepare our food which are half raw!

3D2N in the hotel. Experience still fine. upon check in, the room was not so clean and trash left behind by previous check in customer. 1) For people going to park at the public car-park, please be aware. Went to take my car, saw someone taking photo and walking up and down suspicious in sunglass and a hat. (Thief or not, not sure). Took a few photo of the cars. I will avoid this hotel now. 2) Valet in the morning was good. Friendly. 3) Hotel staff still fine. 4) Swimming pool water was too dirty so decided to just go back my room and "swim".

If there’s option I will rate 0 star. Arrived at the hotel and was told we were given double bed instead of king size bed that we requested for. It will be acceptable if the staff could be more politely to explain everything, but his attitude doesn’t qualify to be a 5-star hotel front end receptionist, not friendly at all and just say king size bed is only depends on availability, we can cancel with Agoda if want. I ended up cancel the booking and go for Hilton instead. Will never ever go to this hotel again, and will let our friends and colleague know not to book with this hotel.

The hotel is in a great location with very good facilities. Staff are very polite and greet all the guests they see. The paid breakfast with also delicious and decently priced. What spoiled everything was the toilet which smells of urine when we first stepped into it. And the room at 1005, the one we stayed in, was infested with ants which crawled all over us while sleeping. Not only that, but it ruin our birthday cake which was too big to be placed into the fridge prior to eating and cake cutting. Hotel guests bringing food into rooms are inevitable so obviously timely housekeeping is lacking which had invite colonies of ants into the rooms. This hotel need to up the housekeeping area to for us to want to stay with them again.

everything is good and well. From check in to check out all went well. There is a pool table near the lobby and children play room. The swimming pool is clean but water is cold in the morning. Breakfast is great with a lot of choice to fill you up. If there is a thing to improve, then it would be the shower gel. It is bad, but I stay here not because of the shower gel. It's the great people and the value Amari gave to me. My daughter cried at the end of the stay.

We stayed at the Executive King room. The Executive Lounge had coffee/tea all day and there was cocktails and a 'mini-dinner' in the evening. Breakfast spread was fantastic and there was a live band performing. will definitely come back again.

The rooms and dining area is great. The hotel also features a well maintained gym and pool which is also kid friendly. The hotel restaurant is common yet adds a taste to the hotel atmosphere. The room service is great. Location wise the hotel is situated at walking distance to malls and public bars which is also great if you're on a vacation trip. If you wanted to go to Singapore also it's walking distance from here. πŸ˜…

Its my first time staying at this hotel and I must say, I didn't find anything to fault on. A night here cost ~500rm which is pretty expensive compared to the hotels around the area but what you pay, will be what u get, thus, 4 stars.. Location is good as its near the causeway. Check in process was fast and staff were friendly. The moment I step into the hotel at Lvl1, I was asked if I needed help with the bags and was directed to the reception area. The rooms are definitely big and fitting for a 5 Star hotel with clean bed sheets and pillows. However, even with the highest temperate, I do find the aircon a bit too cold even under the blanket. Breakfast was good too with plenty of selection from Indian to Western. Food is definitely delicious but considering the price, selection could have been better. Plates were cleared super quick and staff were very polite in everything they did. I will definitely be back for special occasion as its just cross the border and it has been a memorable stay. Just wish there is bathtub in every room. That will make it even better.

Booked for Husband's surprise birthday celebration. Paid for the decorations and worth the money! The decorations were above my expectation, comes with a slice of cake, and a birthday wishes note from the housekeeping. The hotel room is clean and spacious. The toilet is clean too! Friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Overall stay is great and awesome πŸ‘Œ. Thank you Amari Hotel and housekeeping staff for your service. πŸ™πŸ€©
