This is great for a modern budget hotel. Love the use of art in the interior design so it’s very refreshing. Service is also great and prompt too. Kudos to all the service staff. The location of the hotel is good. 10min walk to City Square Mall. The cafe and food area is just across the road. Also it is away from the main traffic jam road when the night market runs (road closure) so cars and Grab can still drop us off at the hotel during those road closure. Our room is at the high level and we can see the sea plus the whole cafe and food area. Nice view.

Stayed at king executive room. Sound proofing is extremely poor. Could hear the whole conversation of my neighbour. Asian king bed which is smaller, compared to European king. Aircon is old and extremely noisy. Small reception with a sticky desk, had to wait quite awhile. Shower is also small. Only good thing is hot water consistent and room comes with 2 toilets. For this price, it's better to stay at double tree or holiday Inn.

We booked this hotel relying on good reviews, also its central location was also another reason why my wife and I decided to stay there. I have to say that we were really disappointed. The first room that we went to had a bed which looked like they had not changed the linen and this was evident by the hair that we saw on the bed sheets. The bathroom really reeked of cigarette smoke. While the staff were quick to change the room for us, the replacement room was barely better. The bed linen on the bed was stained and what we noticed later on was that the bathroom also had a stale cigarette smell, although initially it was not as bad as the previous room. The smell was more noticeable when we returned to the room later. The smell was so bad that we had to leave the ventilation fan on in the bathroom to try and eliminate the smell as it had spread into the main room. This experience definitely ruined our stay in Johor Bahru.

Overall we enjoyed our stay for 3 nights in mid May. Here are some feedbacks: POSITIVE 1) Checking-in was smooth and fast. Your reception is welcoming and the lady especially speaks good English. 2) Security. The staff guarding the entrance was alert especially after sunset and it is good that lifts need card access. There is also safe provided in the room. 3) Room is spacious, shower is hot with strong water pressure and bed and pillows are comfy. 4) Amenities are of rather good quality for 3-star hotel, especially the slippers. We appreciate the big tv with free netflix too. Here are some suggestions for improvement: 1) Cleanliness. It is of acceptable level but there is room for improvement. The wall behind the bed should be cleaner as there is some stain since day 1, especially when the bed has no headboard. The comforter cover also has a few spots of purplish stains. 2) Biggest issue is the bath towels. They seem clean but smell bad. Please improve your laundry process.

Honestly I give them 4 star not a 3 star hotel. Just no breakfast. Room and clean and spacious. Parking car can be narrow but feeling safe & secure because it took the elevator to your room floor. Interesting experience.

We had a great time at Z Hotel. The location of this hotel is perfect, about 15 min walk away from Johor Bus station and super close to the night market (literally across the street). Lots of food options around and most sights within the city can be reached by foot. The room was spacious and clean with a very modern look. The staff was really friendly and check-in process was super easy. Would recommend if staying in Johor Bahru.

There was a slope to the roadside, which was the only wheelchair-accessible path to the car pick-up zone. My husband is handicapped and we had no choice but to use this path. There were multiple cars blocking this path. Afterwards, I told the security guard about the situation and he still asked me, β€œSo?”, in a very angry tone. I was even angrier, and went in to complain to the counter staff. The staff did nothing but stare at me. The only words they muttered were in Malay, whilst I only know how to speak English and Chinese. They did not even bother coming out of the lobby to check the situation at the pick-up zone. The hotel is branded as handicap-accessible, but is definitely not. I want the management to provide me with a favourable reply, else I will choose to continue complaining on other platforms too. There was rubbish everywhere and old and torn sheets. When the curtains were opened, dust filled the sky. The hotel has no parking space for vehicles. It is very dangerous to stay right next to the main road, especially if there are elderly people or children. Especially when you come back from outside, you will get wet if it rains

This hotel doesn't deserve a one-star. SHOULD ME MORE!!! It was a great value for money, super cheap but the room was huge and spacious. We got the deluxe king room and wow. The bed was comfortable some more. The big windows was great and I can just look outside so easy. The night view was quite nice. City lights and all. Their amenities and facilities were kinda high end brands. HAHA. The toilet was also big!!! One downside is that they didn't have any shower stuff like gel and shampoo. DO TAKE NOTE. You need to bring your own. I hope the hotel take this into consideration since most people would expect most hotels to have this common stuff. Overall, the stay was nice and comfy. Would definitely book here again. I hope shower stuff will be provided already.

Excellent location to food eateries and malls. Good use and spacious deluxe twin room. Basic toiletries, coffee tea sachets, Water, iron for clothes and hairdryer are available in the room for use. What could be improved is the air conditioning. The lowest setting is still quite insufficient amidst the blistering heat although the ceiling fan did help somewhat. Shower comes with handle and rainshower facility and variable temperature. Toilet sink taps do not offer hot water setting. No breakfast offered at time of writing. Point to note, car drivers have to contend with driving into car lifts and if you have no experience there is a hotel porter which will be on hand to assist if you speak to the reception. He will not valet for you but guide you through the lifting process.

was recommend by my friend to book a stay here and I wasn't disappointed. Room was spacious! bed and pillows were comfortable. and... i want to highlight that they have a huge hair dryer! LOVE THAT THEY PROVIDE BIG FULL SIZE HAIR DRYER! bedroom slippers also provided. only bad things are: 1. air conditioning not cold 2. shower water pressure weak 3. challenger to enter carpark entrance and then into the lift especially if you are alone.

Wonderful experience staying here for my first visit to JB. Although there is limited street parking but you get to experience parking in upper levels using their vehicle lift. The hotel is walking distance to many famous eateries and the daily night market. JB City Square is also walking distance away so even if you don't have a vehicle there's quite a lot to see and eat nearby. If you need any recommendations, just talk to the friendly concierge at the entrance and he will give you directions. Rooms were quite spacious and had a good view. Toilet and bath are separated and the water pressure is very good.

Great hotel! Very spacious room and big toilet. Provided all the usual amenities that are expected in a hotel room. Only qualm is perhaps the location is although walkable, further away from city square compared to fives hotel. Overall would definitely return!

Small, boutique hotel. Spacious room with basic amenities. Friendly and helpful front desks. The concierge, Aloysius, was extremely attentive and helpful. He pro-actively opened the hotel entrance door when he noticed that I was assisting my friend, who was blind. And he also pro-actively volunteered to keep a look out for the Grab car that we had booked. Although this hotel is small and does not have much facilities , services like this are the ones that will differentiate them from other boutique hotels… keep up the good service!

The hotel room is decent , size is good, cleanliness is alright and can’t complain about the rate at S$67 a night, booked only a week ahead of time. The room I was at 1604 had no hot water, I was lazy to call front desk so I just showered in cold water. The proximity of this hotel to shopping places and CIQ is excellent. The staffs at reception are friendly. I will definitely consider staying here again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying overnight at Z Hotel and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From its excellent centralized location to the impeccable cleanliness and outstanding service, every aspect of my stay was truly exceptional. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top rated hotel on a reasonable budget, whether for business or leisure.

Z Hotel is a good option of you are staying over near the checkpoint. We booked the king room and the room was spacious! The king bed was comfortable. We got room 1608, which is a corner room with the curved window with a good view over the historic district. However, the design of the room could be improved upon. Maybe a sofa would have been a better option than 3 random chairs. The bathroom is super spacious, but the shower area is so narrow. Even the toilet bowl area is larger than it. The room is slightly dusty and the colours don't inspire much. However, for a short stay, it is more than enough. The location is very convenient with lots of eating areas around. Only a 7 min walk to City Square. The front desk serivce is efficient. There is free WiFi without log in required, but it is spotty. The price is affordable.

An excellent hotel with great scenic views of the city and sea, at night or day. Very spacious room, sentimental and cozy place to stay in for the night after a hard day of walking around Johor Bahru. Very near to the very popular curry fish head restaurant, About 15 minutes straight down walk from CIQ and only 5 minutes from curry fish head restaurant.

The Indian receptionist(no fringe) at the front desk was the most polite and friendly. I wish I got her name. She was very professional and proactive in her work duties as well. I hope that the other service desk staffs learn from her on how to smile and be polite to every customer who comes in and not just to selective customers. The rooms were clean, very spacious and they have comfortable beds. They got great security system too.Overall a pleasant stay and highly recommend to anyone.

This hotel is very near to Woodlands, SG. Also, the design used in this hotel is both rustic and modern at the same time. For the price, this is probably going to be the best bargain in the area. Coming through to the hotel was easy enough, plenty of public and e-hailing service. Check in was hassle free and decent facilities provided by them as well.

It was our first time staying in Z Hotel, and it was great, above our expectation. We got the corner room so it is big in size, curve window with a nice view. clean room, good amenities, they even provide hair dryer and iron+board. Location is superb, walking distance to restaurants/cafes area. There's only small thing to improve on the room maintainance, like some part of the wall start getting dirty or the paint crack. Hopefully next time we stay, we can get the corner room again.

Maybe I set too high expectations for this hotel due to the good rating on Google Review. But the room turned out average. Not bad but not fantastic. Requested for high floors given 11th floors. Overall the room is clean. The bed is nice to sleep. Big disappointment is the room view is not as what it shown

The room was vast and spacious. During the make-up room, they change a new set of towels and toiletries. Safety is there. Before you go to the lobby, you must type your card. The same goes for the lift access. I hope they improve the water heater system. Sudden cold and hot water while showering. Lastly, they don't provide a shaver. 100 cash or credit card deposit.

I stay 3 days 2 night in this hotel due to it's high rating and it does not disappoint! I love the cleanliness, love the view, love the tv, love the bed, love the shower, I love everything! I'm a light sleeper and 2 nights in this hotel I have not got my sleep interrupted. Not sure if I was lucky with a considerate neighbour or the hotel did some arrangement since I've noted this in my remarks. The bed were so comfortable and the shower feels great after a long day. Only thing is that going in and out of parking took a bit of time and effort with only 2 lifts for the car. Good that we stay off season so only once we have to queue and wait for another lift. Can't imagine if the hotel is peak and have more cars going in/out during peak hours. Anyhow it is for safety purpose so we are okay with that. Thanks Z Hotel for the great accommodation and also accommodating to my remarks :) Will stay in this hotel again.

The room i stayed got an amazing sea view overlooking the Singapore border. Stayed here for 2 nights, and it is a nice hotel. The room comes with a fan and ac, and i loves this features. On the downside, I found a bed bug but the reception immediately change to a better room and i was happy with the service. The bathroom is spacious enough .overall is it a good experience staying here.

Check in was 2pm and we arrived to an uncleaned room. Staff said to wait another 15mins to clean the room but even after 1hr, room is still not cleaned so we had no choice but to come back to our room in the evening. When we are back it's obvious that room cleaning was not done properly and bedsheets and pillow cases were still dirty. I was also charged extra for my stay that I still cannot seem to get an explanation for. I requested for large bed instead of 2 single beds but again, was disappointed. Would like to give zero stars if possible and definitely do not recommend anyone to come.

  • 4/5 Ming Shen T. 4 months ago on Google
Room was relatively clean, there were no obvious dustballs or dirty bedsheets but the carpet was slightly dusty (good thing they provided hotel slippers so all good) Basic amenities such as soap, shampoo, toothbrush and cotton buds are provided The only issue I had was the location. It was really noisy at night due to the sounds of car honking and motorbikes revving so I couldn't really sleep well until ~1am? Overall for the price, I think it is pretty worth it though I will go for better hotels if I want to stay at somewhere with better quality

Stayed here for the second time. Was pleased with the experience and service during our first stay. 5 stars back then.. Second time around was almost equally good. Rooms were all clean. Should've given 5 stars but had a hiccup with the keys to one of our rooms. Could not open the door on 2nd day though we were suppose to check out the day after. Changed keys twice and a staff even accompanied us to open the door but suddenly left us afterwards with the rejected keys. Had to go all back down and change the keys again with the reception to explain.. but was interrupted by a "problem settled" reply with no apologies just so that we'd leave them.. quite rude

Been here twice and love their services and the lobby always smells nice and refreshing. The rooms are spacious. They provide bedroom slippers, small ironing board, iron, kettle and free mineral water bottles. The toilet is spacious too. Has bidet and rain shower with good water pressure and hot cold temperature. If your room is facing Pasar karat..you can hear the noise til 1130. The hotel is like 10-15 min walk to CIQ. There's a small provision shop near the hotel, At machines, a pharmacy nearby and exchange rate shop opp the hotel. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent location, only short 5mins walk to City Square and the popular eateries street (Hua Mui/Hiap Joo). Modern Industrial white/black/grey design. Room numbers cast with lights (see pix). Spacious room but would have been good if bathroom is slightly bigger, it is cramp even for a single person to use. They allocated more space to the bed area. Nice view on high floors and friendly staff. Need to tap card to activate lift up. Parking is free infront of hotel. Highly recommend for short stay in JB centre.

My 4th stay here since 2021. The staff is freindly and the room cleanliness is ok too. Good for bussiness traveller and the location suit me perfectly for my job. The only thing i would like to complaint is during my latest stay, i was given a connecting room 1707 and the room is not soundproof. The guest next door 1706 make lotso noise n distrubing me. I cant sleep that night until they are all aslept. But i managed to change the room n3xt day. Overall, its agood hotel with the price. Will stay again next time.

secure, soothing, & satisfactory. Z hotel has card access installed at every point from the door, to the reception office, the lifts, & of course, the rooms, ensuring the security of its guests & their belongings. during our stay, we were pleasantly surprised by the presence of biometric & card access doors at the reception office, which were kind enough to store our luggage even after we've checked out. the customer service was excellent as well, with the staff consistently assisting us with a smile & going above & beyond when asked for a refill of toiletries (instead of the one pair we asked for, they brought us three to ensure we had more than sufficient). furthermore, everything from the lobby to the lifts & our rooms were satisfactory. the lobby was well-lit with powerful airconditioning & ample seating. the lift was stable & spacious. last but not least, the rooms were well-ventilated with all the amenities you would require including an ironing board, hairdryer, study lamp, & a bidet. furthermore, the bed was very comfortable & a ceiling fan was used in conjunction with the already powerful airconditioning to combat the tropical heat. overall, we enjoyed our stay at Z hotel & would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a secure, soothing, & satisfactory nesting spot to explore johor bahru from. thank you Z hotel & team. terima kasih.

Booked a deluxe king room, and was pleasantly surprised with the space and the fantastic view that we had! Reception people were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Only problem we encountered was the shower room, the size of the room are quite small making it hard to shower

The hotel is situated nearby night market & good eatery places by walking distance. Even though, it’s nearby hustle area during night the time, we hardly heard noise from the outside, meaning the building has great soundproof wall! We are very happy that our room upgraded to triple room and many thanks to the friendly staff. Elevated car park also available in the building.

I stayed here for just 1 night at their Deluxe King Room and what an amazing hotel experience it was. I probably get one of the best view facing the city side of the hotel and everything from the hotel room from check-in to check-out has been amazing. Probably I have stayed in few of the 4 stars hotels and z-hotel have matched every expectation from comfortable mattress/pillows, and all the things you need like Hair dryer, Iron, Toiletries, etc. Keep it up!

Hotel is conveniently located near City Sq JB, about 7-10mins walk away. Though convenient, there’s a lot of traffic even in the wee hours of 3-4am, which made our rest interrupted. I stayed for 2N in room 1107, it’s a deluxe king room. Room was spacious and clean with basic amenities provided. Our room was a connecting room and there were children stayin next door. It was extremely disturbing as they were up running and making noise at 7am till 11am. They even attempted to open the connecting door. We called the front desk but nothing was done. This ruined our experience as the Chinese guests next door didn’t had basic room etiquette. It was a birthday staycation and we were expecting a restful and relaxing stay unfortunately we didn’t get much rest. Giving it a 4 stars still for the convenience and because some staffs were friendly.

Firstly, I am quite shock the star rating of this hotel in Google is categorized as a 1 star hotel. This is easily at least a 3 stars hotel. The first impression is good as the security guard immediately attended to us when he saw my car turning in to the Car Lift. Yes, you did not see wrongly, the parking for this hotel requires you to drive your car into their car lift as the parking is in the middle section of the hotel. My stationwagon fits in the car lift quite easily, the guard told us that Vellfire, Estima, all fits in too just that it is abit difficult to get in the lift. Check-In was a breeze, room cleanliness is good, nothing to fault. Aircon is cold, shower water pressure is strong. WIFI signal is ok. Lobby area is very nicely decorated too. The location of this hotel is at Jalan Wong Ah Fook, which you should know is where the cafes, kopitiam, the famous banana cake are ~~, and it is near custom, therefore, getting to this hotel on a weekend night can be a challenge, as you have to drive past the cars aiming to go back Singapore. The road in front of this hotel is very busy. There are no gym or swimming pool as it is a budget hotel. This hotel is good for a 2 nights stay or max 3 nights stay. However I wish the price could be cheaper as I paid SGD$100 a night.

Close proximity to food choices, shopping, and immigration. Meldrum walk food street is just nearby, and there is plenty of good food there. The room is clean and spacious. Basic toiletries are available. Parking is also available within the building. Convenience store is just below the hotel.

The room is pretty spacious and clean. The beds are very comfortable and I like the fact that the television comes with Netflix and YouTube. But the only downside is the thin is pretty thin that I could hear the sounds coming from next door. Other than that, I had a pleasant stay here.

  • 5/5 Mark L. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent customer service, room service and especially the parking. It's a lift that takes you and the car up the parking lots within the building which is super safe. Best of all, it's free parking!

  • 4/5 Simon Y. 11 months ago on Google
Possibly the most modern looking hotel within it's vicinity. With City Square nearby, there's no lacking of shopping & food options. Across the street is a charming old town cluster nestled with indie shops, cafes & institutional eateries that has been probably there as long as the old shop houses that they are in, and every evening(except Monday) the whole area will be transformed into one of the biggest night bazaar that runs till late in the night. Although the hotel is basically a no frills lodging, the rooms are comfortable & extremely spacious for its budget.

We took the family suite. It was big and we'll furnished. The staff were very friendly. Located just on the outskirts of the town. There was a police station just opposite the hotel. Can't blame the hotel for the surroundings but the hotel itself is great. Oh ya, just no pool nor restaurant in the hotel itself. But there are more than enough coffee shops and malls within walking distance.

Rooms nice. Staff friendly. Took them a while to check us in but I think that may have been because they were giving us adjoining rooms which we weren't expecting. Cheap accomodation but you get a very nice room for your money. And the shower pressure was excellent. Marked down the room as my sister found a toenail by her bed.
