I’ll start off with saying if giving 0/5 is possible, I would and I believe most customers who visited on 29 July 2023 afternoon would share the same sentiments. I will comment on two aspects. About the food/drinks: Ordered the latte, magic, filter coffee, kombucha and more that I can’t recall. I have never drunk a coffee this bad and I say this from someone who has tried many coffee places. The beans tasted burnt for the magic coffee. The filter coffee lacks depth as we couldn’t taste any flavour notes for the coffee. The latte…….doesn’t even taste like latte, that’s all I know how to describe. Saving grace was kombucha as I ordered the sampling set and it pleasant. But still, it’s appalling how an actual coffee roastery can produce such unappetizing coffee in all forms. Food wise, we only had the apple pie that’s was decent, and a bbq chicken sandwich which was subpar, fries was quite nice though. But for RM32 I can find tastier ones in the night market easily. We had more orders for food, but was cancelled and refunded, which brings me point two. About the service: We waited patiently an hour and only the drinks came in parts slowly. We then reminded the staff about our food but it fell on deaf ears. By the third time we asked to have our food refunded since it doesn’t look like it’s coming soon but they said to wait a little while. At the umpteenth time we asked to refund unless served within 5mins and they said OK. Eventually, only one dish came which was the sandwich and we asked for refund for the rest. Our friends who came half an hour later also experienced the same and got all of their food refunded. A very amazing observation we made was that food was not served at most of the table in the cafe. It feels almost like the kitchen is not operating. Funny thing is that other tables starting following suit and got their food refunded as they waited too long. 😂😂 Saw another review about the staffs idling in the kitchen today. Unfortunately, I noticed through the kitchen door too. I will not undermine the good reviews they have earned thus far. But it’s honestly puzzling why customers had such an awful experience on this fine day. Maybe it’s just a series of unfortunate combination of events. Maybe they had problems with their logistics or staffing. Maybe this batch of beans was not quality checked. Genuinely didn’t expect this from a 4.5 stars on google (the reason why we settled here) but was utterly disappointed. Hence I decided to write a detailed experience me and my friends had. I think it’s important to have critics so people who are looking to visit this cafe can be well informed about how the food/services they can expect. @staff, please do not apologize if the excuses are due to overwhelming crowd. Granted the cafe was packed but shouldn’t there be sufficient staffs on standby to handle the customers at its capacity? If other similar and nearby cafes can do it with long queues, why cant Vamos Coffee Roastery have the same efficiency? As for the low quality of food, not sure how the cafe is gonna do better… Honestly if food is good but the service is bad, I might give it to u guys. But both are absent.

Interesting place, I get the feeling that it's had a lot of effort put into it and now the owners interest has moved onto a new project? Not sure, but it has the feeling of once being better than it currently (at least in my experience) is. The coffee seemed well made, but with a cheap roast. The sandwich we ordered was made with cheap bread that was too oily after toasting. The ham looked extremely processed and cheap and tasted as much. Overall the sandwich was very disappointing. Another odd thing, there are FIVE menus! One of which is half crossed out. Maybe print a new one? They all seem tired and worn out with food and grease marks on them. On one of them you can't even read the prices it's so worn out. The bathroom is nice, but there is nothing to dry your hands with? So you need to walk back out into the shop either drying your hands on your pants or touching everything with wet hands a bit like a public toilet? At least install a hand dryer if you don't want to pay for hand towels? This place really gives the impression that it has recently been put under management and things are sliding as well as cost saving measures being implemented to increase profit/pay for the extra staff while under management. We probably won't return as there are many nice cafes in JB now that put effort into their business.

We had their pasta for dine in and Apple Tart to go. Their food portion is great and tasty. Might visit again to try some other pastries that they have. Cafe/restaurant concept are pretty cool. Location is easy to find although parking availability might be a bit of a challenge as you would probably need to park along the street.

Been cafe hopping all these years. Honestly don't have to look any further if you are looking for good coffee in Jb because this is definitely the best. Hands down. Bagels are to die for as well. Come for the coffee, stay for the vibe.

Wow this cafe is a hidden gem!!! 😍😍 the food here is amazing! Love the signature BBQ pulled chicken pie, pesto sandwich, Vamos big breakfast and signature french toast! The coffee is so good - definitely a MUST TRY! And they even have their own coffee roastery here!

The food here is of pretty decent quality. However, I'm not too sure if it was just a bad batch of beans but the coffees we got that day had a not too pleasant aftertaste. The interior of Vamos is beautiful and the compound itself is huge. There is an "industrial" vibe going on so there are some sections which are not lit up too brightly. Overall, the price point of this cafe seems to suggest that it was built with tourists in mind. Even as a Singaporean (probably their target audience), I found the price of the food and drinks to be comparable to what I would get back home in the CBD area. Which is not cheap at all. Given the availability of other cafes along this stretch of road, I'd suggest exploring the other options available if you have difficulties deciding on a cafe.

Pretty damn good coffee, Ethiopian blend hit the spot. Choc cake went very well with the coffees and the boss was extremely nice and helpful. Great hangout spot and chill vibes, it's within a short walk from some good cafes for brunch. First time here was great, won't be the last time.

Great vibes, friendly staff and awesome coffee. Tried both their Vamos blend and Ethiopian beans. Ethiopian was perfect for coffee lovers who love their coffee with floral and fruit notes. Would be coming back for more :)

Although I'm not a coffee expert, it taste abit tad blend, and I expected it to be stronger, though. Sandwich is nice, delicious, and wholesome with juciy fillings to balance with the bread toast. However, the pasta served were disappointing as the texture is kind of different. Maybe it's the type of pasta the cafe used, which the texture may be acceptable to others. Ambience is cozy and suitable for a great catch up with friends. Unique taste for the Kombucha.

Aesthetic cafe with pretty good speciality coffee. Prices are slightly on the higher end but no complaints. Plenty of seats available inside the cafe and it’s a nice spot for a chill and chat session with friends.

Heavy rainy day, I randomly googled coffee shop and visited. The place was happy enough to make my day. Great coffee, food, bakery. All staffs and boss were friendly. There are some options of bean types. Such as nutty or acidic type. Can tell it's not cheap but worth it. They dont use can food. I'm looking forward to revisit to try their pizza next month :)

The big breakfast was absolutely delicious and the drinks were fun. The quiet ambience of this restaurant on a Sunday morning was perfect and we walked in here after seeing the ridiculous queue at Nimmies nearby. Don't regret it! The pastries look so yummy too.

Pretty good coffee here! 🥐 with some pastries and croissant (we didn’t have any pastries here but will def try it next time) we tried their pineapple green tea kombucha too!!!! Wow seems like they got their own machine that makes kombucha! Seems interesting 🥒👍🏻 The blend we tried was PIPELINE BLEND! Around 12RM for a white latte!!! ☕️

Very average cafe with slow service. When we enter the cafe, fragrance from pastry can be smelled but not coffee, pretty weird for a roastery. We ordered apple pie since quite many reviews recommended and also got a sandwich, plus cold brew, flat white and gula melaka latte. Drinks came in about 10mins. Flat white has a weak coffee taste, cold brew was too fruity and there is some spice in it that makes it kind of weird. Waited 20mins for the apple pie to be served but the ice cream was already melting like mad when the plate made it to our table. Apple pie has a soggy base (as though it is uncooked dough) so it is not as enjoyable as expected. Sandwich arrived 40mins after order was placed, plus we had to ask for it/check the order for 3 times. Sandwich (Vamos Classic Reuben) was RM$32 and to be fair, the taste is not bad. The bread should be made in house if I am not wrong. Bread itself also not bad. The third star in this review is for the bread. Staff did explain that the kitchen is understaffed when we check on the sandwich for the third time. If that is the case, maybe inform the customer before order was made. If there is totally no warning about longer wait times, it is frustrating for customers to wait more than 30min for a toasted sandwich. Table next to us arrived later than us and got their pasta served before our sandwich arrive so the wait is really frustrating. Also, just heat up apple pie plus add a scoop of ice cream need to wait 20min. Service can definitely be improved. After checking the receipt, we realised there is actually service charge. We had to take the bottle of water and cups on our own, take sharing plates and serviette on our own, so I do not think there is good service at all. If it is a self service cafe, then the service charge is not justified. There are quite a number of cafes nearby, honestly there js nothing spectacular about this cafe so I will not return for another visit even if I am in the neighbourhood.

Best in class service, good coffee, delicious food. Came here on a gloomy Sunday morning to a relaxing environment. The staff was friendly and knowledgable, recommending coffee and food. I had an aeropress Ethiopia Yirgachefe and a simple but delicious Egg & Spinach Grilled Cheese. It was the perfect combination in the gloomy weather.

Came across this quint nice coffee corner. They serve aromatic coffee and flavourful kochumba tea. Ordered the yuzu earl grey kochumba tea. It was a well balanced flavour of sweet notes of the yuzu, nicely blended earl grey bergamot and acidic body of kochumba. Iced flat white was next. It’s aromatic and on point robust flavour emerged onto the palate. Coffee is life.

Love the concept of having a tasting platter for the kombucha. Turned out to be really good. The coffee is also very fragrant, well roasted and not too acidic which is to my liking. The food was delicious - very generous serving of seafood aglio olio which packs a solid punch. Definitely worth a 2nd visit!

Found another cafe that serves Magic! Had the gula melaka latte with double shots and it was perfect. Love their interior deco which made us felt welcoming. Very spacious cafe but only have 8 car lots. Most probably gotta park along the road if it’s packed.

Very good coffee and nitro cold brew tea served at this place. You can also get some healthy poke dishes - normal poke bowls and poke tacos, pai tees are also available. I love the poke tacos using fried seaweed as a taco substitute. Limited parking spaces though - so carpool here if you can.

Great portions and tasty food! Had a mocha too and it was pleasantly balanced. Our French toast came without syrup and there was a bit of confusion between the staff to try and rectify it but it was worked out in the end. Their baked goods looked super delicious and we got a cookie to go.

Not your usual commercialised cafe in JB - everything here is retro, local. Tried their egg tart (which was warmed for us), their gula meleka coffee and yuzu kombucha which were all were very well crafted and priced. The vibes here is amazing- like going into a collector’s house and theres even a kitchen where you can overlook their adhoc baking if you’re lucky. The owner kindly let us try their housemade pineapple tart (I believe its limited) and it was so buttery. Staffs here are so friendly and polite too 👍🏽 keep it up!

Reasonable pricing and food portion. Well fried fries and squid, not oily. Freshly fried. Clams, mussels pasta was creamy and good. Coffee was fragrant. Love that they offer oat option and use oatside(: Friendly staff, clean toilet and cosy place to chill. Merchandise was not charged with SST and service charge👍👍👍 Went there twice. Avoid Nimm*** if you're going for mains and drinks.

Bought coffee beans the first time. We returned for brunch. Ordered: Flat white, cold white, PBJ, apple pie Coffees were good! Not a hint of butter. Smooth texture. Creamy. Apple pie came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Classic. Home-feel. Rustic. Nice light apple flavor. Slightly sweet. Pleasantly tart. Ice cream had larger pieces of ice. Not sure why. The PBJ was huge!! It was made up of 3 thick slices of bread and lightly spread with jam and peanut butter. The oddest addition that made the sandwich interesting was a slice of cheese! It wasn’t a bad thing. Just interesting and unexpected. Can be messy to eat. Lovely BGM to calm the restless mind and soothe the soul esp from the crazy heat. We will be back for sure. 😄

An awesome find! We’ve had great sandwiches and desserts here. Sandwich breads are well-toasted so we could feel the crunch yet still have the chewiness of it. They’re really generous with the fillings of the sandwich so you’ll defo be full! Cakes are wonderful - we had the apple pie and burnt cheesecake. Both had a nice amount of sweetness that doesn’t make you sick of it. Apple pie comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream as well! Love the overall aesthetics of the cafe. Such a hidden gem!

First time here, hence asked them if they have any toast recommendations. She recommended a few of their toast, and I decided to go with their Shrimp Toast! It’s so good!! Highly recommended and we will come back! Latte and slow cook pulled chicken are good too! If you are not sure what to go with, can ask them for recommendations!

Such a beautiful cafe, very nice and friendly staff. We ordered hot mocha, cappucino and brownie with ice cream. Good quality coffee but too acidic for me, just a matter of preference I suppose. Not much selection of desserts at the time, but they look delicous. The brownie is also good. Would come again to try other desserts. Got a free fortune cookie in conjunction with Chinese New Year. We also ordered poke bowl for take away from the cafe in the same building and it was unexpectedly delicious.

Came here for lunch on a weekday. Was empty upon arrival. Ordered the cinnamon bagel with cream cheese. Was rather ordinary, felt the amount of cream cheese was rather little. Ordered a cappuccino, was good and strong. Also have a variety of pour over coffee, wasn’t to my liking as it felt rather thin. Good service.

The cafe was a vibe, beautifully decorated with chill music. Instagram worthy corners everywhere. Coffee was really good. Would totally come back here again for it 💯 The rose pasta with the prawns was slightly disappointing, as the prawns were a little undercooked. 🙁 Anyway, my favourite dish was the cheese & ham sandwich. It was sooooo good, and cheesy, and the cheese pull was 💯 Will come back for this + the coffee!!!

First overseas F&B place I’ve eaten at in 3 years (no thanks to Covid)! Cool industrial vibes and very friendly service. Ordered an omelette sandwich which was great, with a generous amount of melted cheese. They take their coffee seriously here and do pour overs as well. Staff was kind enough to let me try a sabah single origin to appreciate the taste. The ice white I ordered was also well executed. Didn’t disappoint as my first overseas meal in a while and would love to come back on my next day trip to JB!!

Nice ambience. Love the natural light with big windows. Love the industrial deco. Food wise is ok. Had Shashuka egg, Seafood stew, French toast for kiddo, Apple pie & Croissant. Love Shashuka egg & Apple pie. Tasty but they are cold when reach our table. It's will be more tastier if it's warm. Perhaps weather contribute to it as it's been raining for few days here. Love the Apple pie as they are not so sweet even eat with Vanilla ice cream. Staff are friendly, attentive and lovely.

Lovely place to have brunch. Awesome combination egg and spinach sandwich. Must try their signature Vamos Apple Pie. I was hoping that the beef pie will be like Aussie Meat Pie, though still tasty. Will be back to try the other sandwiches.

Highly recommend the kombucha as it's house made and tastes good. The service that they provided was excellent and they were super friendly. However the brownie was dry and the outside part was hard. Other than that for the service and for the kombucha, definitely will visit again soon.

We came here solely for dessert and drinks as we had already had lunch elsewhere. The apple pie we ordered was delicious, and the two drinks were also very nice. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. Overall, we were highly impressed by this cafe and will definitely be returning for a full meal.

We took a chance to hop in this cafe as the kids were hungry and it was indeed a good choice! Coffee quality met our expectations as befitting of a good Roastery. We ordered: 1. Vamos Big Breakfast 2. Spicy Seafood Aglio Aglio (very good!) 3. Squid Ink Spaghetti with Creamy Clam Sauce 4. Smoke Duck Cabonara (very good!) We felt that service could be better improved by taking initiative to provide sharing plates for the kids and we had to ask for plates, utensils etc. Overall, a pleasant experience!
