Been there twice, but the last visit made me sad. I am not going back there anytime soon. At first it was like a private family Zoo, cozy and simple approach. There were less cages and some harmless animals were running free within the territory. Then they changed status and became official Zoo. However, many years have passed since my first visit, but I don't see much of the improvement. The place still looks like it is under construction. The number of animals is increasing, but the conditions aren't any better if not worse. Especially for the big cats, pumas and such. There is one thing I am particularly not happy about, which gives me a clear signal that they might be mistreating animals. They sell wheat bread to their visitors. Many times in other Zoos I saw signs that bread and buns are not healthy for the animals. Seriously, there are so many different species in this Zoo. Is wheat bread a good diet for all of them? Doubt that.

Very mixed and opposite feelings after visiting that zoo. From one hand it is so nice and handy to be able to see so many big cats and other animals so close, even touch and hold small tigers! BUT! Seeing all of them in so small cages is making you feel very sad from the other hand..

I don’t understand the reviews. This zoo is so bad, and anyone contributing to this torture hell hole should be ashamed of themselves. You’re talking about large exotic animals kept in little cages with no water. To enter this zoo it’s ‘cash’ - doesn’t surprise me. Clearly someone is profiting from this place and money is going into their pocket because it’s clear to see, money isn’t being spent on the animals here. 28 degrees of blistering heat and most of the animals have no water and their tongues are hanging out from dehydration. After 5 minutes I walked out, I wasn’t expecting to see this. I’m embarrassed for myself. And most of the reviews are so selfish for the purpose of ‘kid entertainment’ or reviews complaining how ‘the toilets are dirty’? For real… it’s a sad world when people complain selfishly of toilets rather then actually looking at the main problem and seeing the animal welfare here is a disgrace.

Dirty and smelly place, way too small spaces for animals. Can't understand why this place isn't closed yet.

Absolutely horrible. Animals are not looked after properly. They need to be rescued ASAP. Too many big cats held in small cages. One was even carrying their dead baby. Will never visit again and advise against it unless you wish to witness animal cruelty up close. I cannot believe this place is still allowed to run as a business.

This should be called a wild cats zoo, they had so many! 😂 I'm not complaining though, I love wild cats! The only negative is that the cages look a bit dated. Very hard to get footage or look at the cats through the bars.

I feel ashamed having contributed to the state that these bigger wild animals are kept in. These two wolves were 'lucky' in that they where the only one of 4 cages that had two trees, the others where pure steel and concrete. They all looked deeply depressing

I don't understand where the responsible authorities are looking at . I don't recommend people with weak nerves to visit this institution - I couldn't stay there for more than 5 minutes - many of the animals are in unsuitable small cages. Big cats that need large areas to run around, are kept in 5 square meter cages- I saw torment in the eyes of these animals

I don't think feeding animals white bread is good. Everyone was touching animals, some cages looked dirty. There was no stuff in sight and visitors kids were chacing small chicks around. This place looked like it has insufficient funds or just doesn't care about it's animals enough. The animals are the sweetest but they need a better place to live. Get this zoo in better condition..

Amazing zoo. Hands down the best in Lithuania. The animals are well kept, you can buy some bread to feed the birds, monkeys and other animals. A great day for adults and children alike. You should at least have 2 hours to spend here to get the full experience (we've been here a few times, both times it took close to 3 hours to pet, feed and enjoy the zoo).

Three stars only because we could see a lot of tigers and lions but you could see almost every animal was in stress. Cages were dirty, some animals looked injured, walking around back and forth. Dirty cages - excrements everywhere, uneaten bones by them, grass wasn’t cut anywhere, animals live on a concrete or sand, no place to hide from rain. Old wooden trails for them to walk around. It was great to look at animals but they seemed stressed and angry. They need to take better care about animals because I believe a lot of people come there and price for one person it 12 euros which should be quite enough to clean up and make more comfortable environment for animals.

Really terrible and sad view. Cages are old, rusted, small. All surrounding is not taken care of, high grass, some buildings materials all around. Half cages do not have description of what animal is inside. We only felt extremely sorry for those poor animals there. Hope it gets either renovated from the bases or shut down asap.

Very much enjoyed our visit to this zoo. I didn’t do much reseach before coming, so the amount of big cats was a pleasant surprise. Even though their cages are quite large, you get to see them in close distance and appreciate the magnificence of these animals. There is also a big variety of other animals. We will be back on our next visit to Klaipeda.

Been here for second time, quite nice zoo, most of animals have spacy cages, wolves look like they could have more space, but comparing to other such places, it's nice. You can see owls, parrots, lions and camels and many more.

Fewer animals would be better, but their living conditions would be better.

Nice place to spend a day with curious kids. Obviously they specialize in tigers and other large cats. There are lots of them. Most exciting thing to do - pet the baby tigers (for and additional 15€ per adult, 10€ kid, under 3 yo - free). Staff is friendly. Cages could be cleaner.

Amazing zoo with an unexpectedly many wild cats of various species! You can interact with all of them from up close and see them interact with each other. The atmosphere is cozy and calm, definitely worth a visit. There is also a chance to feed some of the animals, which is a great attraction.

I like this zoo. For extra payment you can play with tigers for 10min. It's good to bring same carrots, apples, cabbage with you or can buy bread at zoo. You can feed animals here just can't washe hands after. They have same water but not have soup.

Very nice and clean place to visit with kids! Zoo is small but very nice. There is so many big cats - lions, tigers, pumas and other. As well i can feed animals, of course not Predators. But there is one big minus. - traffic. There is no public transport from Klaipeda to Zoo (location is out of city) so u can go there only by car or taxy

A lot of tigers, but all the goats, cows and alpakas want green grass. An apportunity to bring some bread and vegetebles to feed animals

a lot of different animals. For me personally most impressive are the tigers. Also monkeys and lemurs are quite. Lemur family has a baby - a tiny lemur. Also wolves have small cubs. definetly worth a visit. The only animals I missed were the zebras and giraffes.

Nice and tidy place. Many animals and birds. Would like to see more animals, but it was good time out. Easy to find, good location and reasonable price.

The price was great, we didn't have enough cash to enter yet they still let us in to see the animals, the animals looked like they were well taken care of, amazing vibe

Well.. we really did not expect that zoo to be that interesting and fun to visit! There were so many animals - tigers, parrots, wolfs and others. Much better than we were expecting. We spent about 1.5hours to see and observe each animal. 5/5, must be visited by everyone visiting Klaipeda or somewhere around.

Amazing variety of animals. Great collection of albinos.

The tight space for animals to roam around is very small and the habitats often didn't look designed for them. Plenty of exotic animals to see, but a sad and depressing zoo.

  • 4/5 Mindaugas V. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice place with cute animals. Unfortunately due to the covid-19 they don't offer to buy food for the animals and feed them (few years ago this was the most attractive activity). Animals are more isolated from guests than before (probably it's good for the animals, but it decreases the satisfaction for the visitors). In general everything is really great. I recommend to visit.

Amazing place if you want to see big cats like lions, lots of tigers, jaguars and pumas. Also there lot of different animals. Territory is very big compared to what it seems at the beginning. But it was nice different experience compared to Rigas zoo.

Experience of a lifetime. We were able to spend 10 minutes with a baby lion and 2 baby tigers. Price but so worth it.
